Excellent start @torrmercury! While I'll miss In the Beginning, this looks like an awesome replacement.

[X] Dominion
[X] Autocracy

Frankly I'm surprised a Technocracy led by AI gods like Culture Minds or Archilects weren't an option.

If Democracy does win for the type of government that we are, I will be voting for a Military Republic. From what I remember from Kaelor's Quest, democracies had the disadvantage in that they lowered your dominion score, which for here would mean increasing our strife score. Seeing as our initial strife score is determined by our combined Planetary Warfare (PW) + Space Warfare (SW) + Economics (Ec) score, I think it would help to pick a more martial oriented democracy, especially seeing how a lot of the timelines where we may end up seem pretty tumultuous.
Great analysis! I actually made a mistake and wrote the wrong stats in for strife. The thresholds are determined by Ec + SW + PW and the initial Strife is determined by T + hidden modifiers from your empire creation picks.

Well, to be fair Republic is a different structure than Democracy, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not an option under a "Democracy" win.
While a Republic is not a direct democracy, it is still a form of democracy. When we voted for initial government choices in Kaelor's Quest, not all of the following more narrowed choices were the purest form of initial government choice. For example we voted for a Stratocracy as our form of initial government, however in the end there were plenty of variations from an autocratic form of military government, oligarchic, while the final version chosen was a Military Republic.

So even if Democracy wins, I expect that so long as an is democratic, we will be able to choose it.
Japanime is correct. If Democracy wins, I'll give you guys a couple of types of democratic/republican systems.

If you want that, you can vote for Simulacra + Autocracy. :V

That's only a democratically elected republic -- there are other types as well, heck, until the 17th Amendment the Senate was a good example: the senators were appointed by the States themselves.

See Word of QM:

While not all Republics are Democracies, it seems like the QM intends for there to be a variety of options that include Republics as an option. How democratic they are is probably dependent on the option.

Ahhh, gotcha. Still it seems like it would be a good idea for us to get a strong military regardless as the threshold for strife is affected by it, and we would like to avoid the complications that come from exceeding those thresholds. Plus, considering how the timeline seems to have a lot of chances for conflict, I believe it would be a good idea regardless to make sure we have a strong enough military to not only survive, but thrive..

I don't get it why do you guys want a fucking democracy? (beyond that guy that said he only played quests with theocracies and Autocracies)

Because Autocracy is losing and has no chance of catching up without more votes, and I don't want a theocracy, so its the only one I can deal with.
I meant why most people voted for democracy to begin with.
Between that and the AI friends we are going as standard boring Human sci-fi civ as possible.
They are probably going to name the nation "United Stated of Humanity" or "Systems Alliance" or "Terran Republic" or something equally boring as that.

Hows "Commonwealth of Mankind" sound?
Orrr uhhh "Confederation of Planets"
Or uh "The Eden Edict" .... IDK :p

I've been out and about with my fiancee and my mother looking for her Chinese style wedding dress. It's going to be her secondary dress that she'll change into after the ceremony with her main dress, but she's having a lot of trouble finding one cause she's 5ft10in/178cm and has a large bust and hips and a tiny waist. Apparently Chinese girls aren't made in those proportions. :V

Aaaaaaaanyways, votes are closed and I guess you're playing as a hand in hand democracy. I promise to make things interesting so those of you who aren't as into it will have fun. Assuming you stick around anyways.

Nice -- I can certainly see the appeal of a Cheongsam dress.

Irrelevant! / She must simply force her way into it, for violence is like XML: if it's not solving all your problems, you aren't using enough!

I certainly plan on sticking around; I've much enjoyed your quests and look forward to this as well.

I plan to stay around if only to make DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM jokes when we inevitably end up invading some STL civ or something because of those nice precursor ruins they got in their Mars equivalent.
