You could have just said "something like the Shakturi". Short, precise and gets the point across without implying that you didn't know that this was not going to be a crossover.
Or maybe you stop bitching about conversations I have with another person that is probably not confused as you are?

The context made it clear and that's all I have to say

I was not bitching. You asked a question and I answered. There's no reason to get mad and be snooty about it..

Cool your engines everyone. No need to get uppity. Miscommunications happen.

To answer the question though, that's what the invasion timeline would have been.

Aww wanted at least Autocracy to win, but I REALLY don't want a theocracy
[X] Dominion
[X] Democracy

[X] Hand in Hand
[x] Theocracy

@Argus Yomoflach, @veekie, @Ruirk, @TheLoneWatcher, @ Chief18753, @Mr.Controll -- Can I convince any of you guys to switch to "Legacy of Man"?
I certainly see the appeal of "Hand in Hand", but choosing the Leagacy of Man will put us in the situation where we can/want-to resurrect humanity, kind of like how we had to resurrect the Eldar in the other ItB (though completely at our discretion and w/o malus for failing to do so).

@Icipall, @TheLoneWatcher -- Can I convince you to go w/ a Theocracy instead of Democracy? IMO, Democracy-settings are a bit overplayed, and Theocracy really seems to get the short end of the stick in most settings, and is a bit of a rarity in most recent fictional works (40k being perhaps the only notable setting with an exception, and even then it's debatably an oligarchy), though I'm sure that Torr could make a really enjoyable setting using it.

Now I wonder what name we will have.

We need something with gravitas, originality or both.

Please, please, please. Don't call it something like "Systems Alliance" or "Republic" or whatever. Go for something good for once in the story of sci-fi or at least something new.

Human Reach, the Polity, the Authority, the State. The Interim Coalition of Governance ;), The terran Compact, Human expanse, etc.

Also, what kind of Democracy is this going to be? Republic? Segregated state? Can we get a citizenship system a la Starshiptroopers (The book, not the movie)?

@Shark8 People that came to a quest called "In the beginning there was Man" probably want to play using Humanity.

Fair point, but it is the spiritual successor to the 40k ItB, which (thanks to some early natural 100s + modifiers) did have the option to resurrect the Eldar as an allied race -- something I thought would work well here, especially with the New Eden setting that won.

Sorry, but no. Honestly I wished for tribalism, but since it didn't get any traction I went for democracy, since that's the form of government I've least seen in quests I've participated in when compared to autocracies and theocracies.

It just sounds boring, I wanted Autocracy because it would be entertaining especially with our AIs and how that would work
I love Democracies, more specifically Republics, because they actually work really well with AIs, Theocracies just don't sound appealing in the face of that.

At this point we have only 7 hours before the vote closes, so Hand in Hand going to win.

So everyone should be considering what type of government they want to win now.

If Democracy does win for the type of government that we are, I will be voting for a Military Republic. From what I remember from Kaelor's Quest, democracies had the disadvantage in that they lowered your dominion score, which for here would mean increasing our strife score. Seeing as our initial strife score is determined by our combined Planetary Warfare (PW) + Space Warfare (SW) + Economics (Ec) score, I think it would help to pick a more martial oriented democracy, especially seeing how a lot of the timelines where we may end up seem pretty tumultuous.

So how long does this vote have

Well, to be fair Republic is a different structure than Democracy, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not an option under a "Democracy" win.

While a Republic is not a direct democracy, it is still a form of democracy. When we voted for initial government choices in Kaelor's Quest, not all of the following more narrowed choices were the purest form of initial government choice. For example we voted for a Stratocracy as our form of initial government, however in the end there were plenty of variations from an autocratic form of military government, oligarchic, while the final version chosen was a Military Republic.

So even if Democracy wins, I expect that so long as an is democratic, we will be able to choose it.
