Hugh's Perfectly Normal Mafia Game Where Nothing Weird Happens Whatsoever

Dawn of a Perfectly Normal Day 2
After an... interesting night (more of those odd noises, mostly, though maybe more than that for some...), town reconvenes to continue their attempts to sus out the hostile forces. However, as was sadly fully expected - their number is one less than the day before. Investigating the local flour mill reveals why.

@NinetyNineLies has been Perfectly Normally Nightkilled! His role was Perfectly Normal Miller, a member of the Perfectly Normal Town.

Day Two begins now, and will end in .

I think it should be restated that, we know this game is bastard, and whoever ends up being voted off or night killed, their role reveals might not always align exactly with their true roles. Or, possibly, there could be no role reveals on death at all. Who knows what goes on in that sick, twisted mind... :<
I was cut off by the day ending, but I find that I rather dislike this post. Pre-emptively throwing suspicion on death flips is a choice, and one that I'd hope is backed up by something besides paranoia over what exactly a bastard game means, such as if your night results don't match a death flip, or if your role card suggests such. And I'd think if someone had such information, it'd be good to bring it up in time to discuss it, rather than tossing it in at EoD.

We have time to discuss now. Why might you think death-flips to be unreliable in this game?

*Raises eyebrow*
Yanno, IDK about what Roach had to say about that death flip stuff but Comi said something about what if death flips give vote weight and THAT was a bit of speculation I didn't like just conceptually.
The lynch is THE weapon of Town. Making it unreliable demands aplenty of vigilantes and other kill powers placed in Town to counter-balance that…
Can't say that's not a thing here but I feel like it's a step beyond typical Bastard set-ups.

and on the topic of vigilantes, Logos remains interestingly un-vibed, given...
I WILL BE USING POSITIVE ENERGY TO VIBE CHECK SCIA TONIGHT.

IF SCIA IS ALREADY DEAD DUE TO LOGOS OR SOMEBODY ELSE CHANGING THEIR MIND(S) OR BASTARD MECHANICS I WILL BE VIBE CHECKING LOGOS

Now listen here and listen well, we know that "God" and "Divine Beings" and "Politicians" aren't real, we've known this for years! The truth is that they exist, and they're out there, and they're coming for your taxes but they're ALIENS! That's right folks, these aren't the ones you should be putting trust in, cause they're out for you. They've got beams that they ray into your head to make you more susceptible to the things they say, that way you don't question when they want you to do things. How do you think the pyramids were made?! Mass ray beams showing people advanced architecture from beyond our time!

I'm alive! *looks around * And it looks like we have at least one kill faction.

So currently we have two dead with one done by the mafia and possibly two depending on how much coordination was going on last vote.

(I have bad internet at work so I'm not able to post on my lunch break. My mafia experience comes from games back at summer camp and we often just skipped the first day.)

It's interesting that you claim they would have died, what guarantee do you have of that to begin with? Have you perhaps gained some advanced technology? Tell me, who did you steal it from? The lizardfolk? The faeries that dig beneath our homes? The IRS? THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW!

So I'm guessing that Nictis over there really enjoys cycling through different RP personas or maybe, just maybe, they have with cycling or randomization element.

I think their role might be as an oracle with their personality and the quality of the information they changing everyday. They might even switch sides if they roll bad enough or the game goes long enough. So I recommend someone take a look at them tonight.

Or they could just be having a laugh. We'll see how their condition progresses with time.

okay, to clarify I just meant that I tried to, I dunno, use a power, like a vigilante shot or what have you on the gm and instead of rolling with it like a chad, the gm was all "you can't do that, you're not a vig and also that wouldn't be valid" and I pointed out that the only reason to deny me the absolute legend that'd result was cowardice and then the gm admitted to being a massive coward.

No they usually do one persona per game. Whatever... *Gestures* This is, is new.

You WOULD dismiss me as just a drunk, WHAT ARE YOU HIDING FROM ME? WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?

The dice give and the dice takes…
Also- Nictis, I'd recommend you stop before someone tries to pull a perfectly normal citizen's arrest or something for disturbing the peace!

AHA! You're on the Alien payroll aren't you Z? Huuuuuuh?

Well, the alternative is them rping as sober Ori, and uh

that would also be concerning. Very concerning.

I have a stomach condition so I've been sober for nearly a year 😔

Anyways I'm going off like pure vibes (that I sadly could not check) and while I had to declare my shot before the flip to even have a chance of landing (which it still didn't) I guess I should state that I still went for it and felt ok about it.

[x] Vote Logos

Just something feels a bit disingenuous about their posting. Something about it FEELS just like a little bit half-assed I will pull the quotes that twig me when I get up tommorrow but I think I should maintain some consistency at least to start. Idk i might feel better after some sleep but i just played 2h of disc golf and i have work.

As for night actions, I'll claim a raised eyebrow at my result.

I've been going back and forth on whether to claim in response to seeing them, since on the one hand I probably shouldn't be claiming D2, but on the gripping hand the result appears to reveal info about the gamestate we'd want to know now rather than later. It might be my brain not braining properly at the moment, but I feel it's important enough to lay out my cards for.

I'm the Perfectly Normal Doctor. At night, I can target a player, and if I can heal them I will. As I understand it, if they get strongman killed or not killed at all that night, I don't visit, though I'm not entirely clear on how that would interact with a werewolf or tracker or similar.

Anyway, the part that has my eyebrow raised, and me claiming. I visited Nictis last night, and got a return that no medical intervention was necessary because Nictis had not been attacked that night and had not been doused.

Now, this might just be Hugh messing with me -- this is a bastard game after all --, but I'm inclined to think that if that showed up in my return, it's because Nictis not being doused was relevant to my action. So I am inferring that I have a not quite fully stated modifier that my doctoring clears up dousing. I'd be inclined to class this under not fully stated rather than a hidden modifier since it does say -- paraphrased -- that I'll provide any needed medical intervention, and being covered in gasoline is something a doctor could and should fix.

Having typed that all out, I'm still not sure if hitting post is the right move or not, compared to keeping quiet and not painting a target, but here it is. Based on my result, I'm pretty sure we have an arsonist problem.

*Grins*
Well now well now!
I think we have a Perfectly Normal and Good Towncore here!
I gave Nictis a look and he's well.
He's not a source of trouble, I believe I can say that much…

When you say "source" of trouble, do you mean in the classic "murders people" sense or in a more ah, "plague vector" way?
