Hugh's Perfectly Abnormal Mafia Game Where Everything Weird Happens Oh God (And We Promise It's Not Mountainous This Time)

Additional Public Information
This game does not have vanillas, because that would be too perfectly normal, but if it did, their role card would be this:
You are a Perfectly Normal Mountain Climber! You're not sure what's going on here at the moment; you were just climbing this mountain and you somehow found a town up here?! You have no powers.

It has occurred to me that I'm gonna get a notification for every single post by virtue of watching the thread.

Anyway, I'm debatably here.

Well obviously a game such as it deserves my first post to suit its theme!
As such I ask you all to vote me out immeadiately!

Viva la revolution! Down with Kings and Queens! Down with Knights and Bishops! AIEEEE!

[x] Vote Pawn Lelouch

I have read my rolecard and am less enlightened than before I signed up, so… that's… something I guess?

Can be around a bit more later tonight I promise, just currently taking a final exam for my cybercrimes final and I feel like multitasking that and mafia would be a bit much. :V

I understand every word written on my rolecard. Individually.

Anyway, hello to all my fellow perfectly abnormal townsfolk. I don't suppose any of you have yet observed any suspicious signs of... normalcy...floating around? We must be ever vigilant!

right time to try and get some discussion

this game is explicitly bastard. that can take a bunch of forms, and knowing what that looks like is pretty valuable.
So, public question- which do you think are likely, which unlikely
  • misleading or deceptive role cards
  • win con fuckery
  • in game gm lying in normally sacrosanct areas (e.g. roles fucking with death flips)
  • out of game gm lying and it's actually just mountainous again
  • some other crap which is simply too dumb to not be called bastard

Hm. In order, my (piping hot, moderately sleep-deprived) takes:

- Near guaranteed, between the flavor of this setup and the way the last one went.
- Relatively unlikely, at least for anything major? In order to be able to play the game at all, you need to at least generally know what goal you're trying to achieve - maybe some fine details could get fucked around, but if we assume we're being outright lied to about our objectives then there's no real metric for decision-making at all.
- Relatively probable? Stuff like just including a Janitor doesn't even require flagging the game as Bastard IIRC, so I wouldn't be at all shocked to see something at least that nasty here. Tentatively doubt things will escalate to the point of hugh acting as our Cartesian demon (if only because, again, game probably needs to remain in some sense playable) but that still leaves lots of room for shenanigans.
- I'm pretty sure hugh has some degree of self-preservation instinct.
- Gut instinct says yes but my reasoning mostly extends to like..."might as well while you're at it."

Well, I'm only going purely off the vibes here, but…

- I'm almost certain yes. Okay this one is a bit more educated guess, but yeah. Almost certain.
- Ditto as above. I don't trust my rolecard at all.
- Good chance yes. Nothing says bastard like doing that.
- Oh wow, I'm writing most of these off of educated guess, but there's a medium chance it's mountainous? Probably not, considering how the promise was worded, but I am considering it.
- This one purely from vibes, probably not? Feels like the bastard stuffs will be something already seen before somewhere.

My gutfeel at this point is that it's going to end up being the complete opposite of mountainous -- everyone has an action, but not everyone may be aware of that fact. Last time the opposite occurred to me where I was the only explicit vanilla in a game full of people who thought they had powers. I would be incredibly unsurprised if the opposite ended up being the case for some people in this game.
