Howl, Makai Knight! (Garo/Senran Kagura)

Arc 2.3: The Correct Way To Fight
[X] (Target enemy 1), Rising sword strike, Sword strike, Rising sword strike, Sword strike, Rush, Sword strike
-[X] Switch to enemy 2 if enemy 1 falls mid turn

The first enemy jumps to stab me from above, the second attacks me directly and the third stops and raises his swords as if predicting an attack. Ignoring the third enemy I stomp down on the ground to gain a solid footing and lash out with an upward swing, deflecting the second enemy's swords and striking the first before it could attack me.

Then, calculating my timing right, I thrust forward and impale the first enemy through the chest before it can touch the ground. The body begins to fade away, allowing me to move my arm to the side and block the second enemy's assault with a well placed blow to the chest with the bottom of my sword's hilt, before stepping back to dodge the third enemy's aerial attempt.

The second enemy attacks again, but I strike him across the chest before it can reach me. Like before the third enemy stands back, weapons raised and ready to block. With an horizontal slash I remove the second enemy's head from its shoulders and with the same move parry the third enemy's blow.

Seeing as the third enemy likes to play defensive I lash out with a powerful kick with the intent to create an opening into its guard, but it works only partially as it manages to almost avoid it, gaining only a small scratch.

Undaunted I swing my sword just as the third enemy does the same. Our weapons clash before I overpower him and almost remove his left arm. Obviously it is a magical construct and thus doesn't bleed, but that limb is now unusable.

The other two warriors take the place of their fallen comrades, and the battle begins anew.

Huh, so this time at least one of each move type is going to be present. We cant block as that'll leave the turns grappler free for an opening.

Oh god, they're even mookier than we were expecting!
Well, they're acting on artificially created behaviors. Like enemies in a RPG with AI that rise in quality with the level. Granted this is magic and not computer programming, but the comparison

PS: as you may have noticed I have avoided giving physical descriptions of most characters. However, if someone is interested into creating a fanart (or an omake) that would be a very good thing ^^

funnily enough, rising sword strike beats aerial techniques, and has the best dice pool in clashes. So, considering that we lack anything outside of BLACK FANG that defeats grapples, it is actually our best option in all 6 slots

Speaking of that, we should probably try to learn a sword technique that defeats grapples the first chance we get.

Arc 2.4: The Correct Way To Win
[X] (target enemy 1) Grapple, rising sword strike, rising sword strike, Grapple, rising sword strike, Grapple
-[X] Switch to enemy 2 once enemy one is defeated

I was taught not only swordsmanship in the Order, but martial arts as well. Hoping to take the first enemy by surprise I rush within its guard and, grabbing its arm and sweeping my leg under its own's, I perform a karate throw. It is effective, but the other two enemies jump at the opening I left: one blocks my arms while the other strike mes from above.

I kick away the third enemy while using my elbow on its face to make the second enemy let go. Once I am free I swing my sword above me and slash the first enemy, the accumulated damage enough to dissipate it. The second enemy does nothing while the third one tries to grab me again, but I jump out of its reach.

Then I sidestep the second enemy's lunge and slash it across the chest before using my blade to parry the overhead slash from the third enemy. My free hand lashes out and, catching the second enemy's clothes, I pull back before slamming the bottom of my sword into its head. The third enemy manages to twist my arm a bit painfully but I quickly free myself.

The second enemy lunges at me again, but it's futile: using all my strength I swing my sword upward and cleave through it, a clear line from crotch to top. Without stopping the same blow traces an arc in the air and parries the third enemy's attack. Then the two of us lunge at and pass past each other, leaving a bruise on both of our bodies.

My blood is boiling, I realize as I use a thumb to brush the skin around one of the bruises on my arm. The Priests made good of their promises, this Training Room is everything I need. But as excited as I am, it's time to end this. I must save up my strength for the Horrors, the only enemies that really matter.

[X] Rising Sword Strike, Rising Sword Strike, Rising Sword Strike, Rising Sword Strike, Rising Sword Strike, Rising Sword Strike

Lowering my center of gravity I shoot forward, both hands holding my sword. At the same moment the final enemy jumps up, and when it's above me I stop my rush and channel the momentum into an upward slash that abruptly stalls the enemy's movements. Without stopping I spin on myself and deliver another upward slash, leaving a second mark that form a cross with the first one; before finishing it by jumping up in the air, where I perform a third, and final, swing that send the enemy flying away before dissipating.

The moment my feet touch the ground the central pillar rises again, the Barchess piece back in its original position.

"This place will provide a lot of fun, I can feel it!" Mikazuki laughs.

I sheath my sword. "I agree partner."

Maybe I already said this, but if you find errors in my posts, things that doesn't fit or can be improved and the like don't hesitate to point them out to me. I firmly believe the good quality of a story is also based on those who read it, not only the author (who must listen to what the readers say).
