"~Another one bites the dust!~" Oriko sang to herself as she worked on the blueprints for the new arm she was making for Homura. "~Another one bites the dust! And another one gone, another one gone! Another one bites dust!~" She continued singing.

Okay, you're doing this on purpose, aren't you?

I'm honestly just happy that we are getting glasses meaning we can be even a little more Moemura.
Meh. I just accepted we're not actually playing as Homura in anything but name and moved on.

It's like that Fate/Yuyuyu quest where the player character is Assassin in the body of a girl named Ayase Yue. Who is decidedly not the Negima character.

I would argue that's not true either, but... Meh, you play the Quest how you it, and I go with mine.
Personality is different, background is different, powers are different, has connections she didn't have canonically, doesn't do the hair flip, etc. Homura in nothing but name. Not that this isn't a fun quest, but it's not a Homura quest.

*shrug* Her personality is not entirely different to me, nor is background; powers are different but that's a pretty standard option for a Quest and shouldn't make us any less of the character we were before, and the same goes for contacts. AU Homura is still Homura, just being born and raised in an AU Mitakihara.

So what you're saying is that she's not the same, but still the same. Your logic is truly astounding, my friend.

This Homura didn't have heart issues. Consequently, she didn't have the extended hospital stay that stunted her social skills due to spending much of her formative years in isolation. Instead, she appears to have been trained by the church as an Executor. I'd say that constitutes a rather significant background change.

This Homura actually is emotionally dead, not just faking it to keep from becoming attached. It's to such an extent that finding out she's losing an arm didn't bother her. She's also addicted to Mapo Tofu. It's a pretty significant personality change.

-___- Why must you misinterpret me so...?

*sigh* Yes, it's a significant change (hence my irritation with @FoxOnPie because that's not what I said at all). Though I actually didn't remember her not having the heart condition, just that she overcame it much much sooner due to training with aforementioned Executor.

But that doesn't mean those changes are absolute and erase everything else about her as a person. And if it's really such a problem, I don't see why votes couldn't be made to adjust slightly, such as getting Homura to open up slowly to Madoka or talking about how those changes in background affected the res of her background (ex her parents and her home life that wasn't explored in-series for obvious reasons).

There's nothing wrong with the character we're playing. I'm just saying she isn't Homura Akemi any more than the Yue Ayase in Kaleidoscope Swordswoman is the corresponding Negima character.

I'm not saying anything about bad or good/right or wrong in any intended way, shape, or form—I just don't think we have 0% Homura in us outside of the name Akemi Homura, and that it can develop further in whatever way the Quest goes.
