A 1 would have ended up with you getting stabbed in the neck, the Process going nuts, and Weiss getting a particle beam to the head because of it. You would have survived, on account of Reboot(), so would she, on account of Aura, but you'd have an angry child AI to deal with before it put a beam through her head for real this time, and you both would have walked away heavily traumatised by the experience. As in, probably never interact with each other again if at all possible kind of traumatised. And end up on papa Schnee's actual shitlist.

Anything below 18 would have had her still playing dumb about the virus but otherwise acting cordially about it, 14, she would have kept the sword at your neck, 10, you wouldn't have actually gotten a word out, 5, fight scene that would have ended with Ashford eventually turning up and restraining you both like the couple of children you were acting like.
How bad would Weiss have felt later on with a 14, 10, or 5? Especially if Jaune somehow ended up arrested, assuming that was a possible outcome?

How bad would the two of them being put on the same team after that have been? Would Ozpin actually have been forced to shuffle and redraw? Would 0 or negative number because of a bad penalty roll have been the same as 1 or even worse?

I imagine if we managed to get a 0 or a negative number from a dice, Remnant would have imploded. Just because we didn't get our money.

What a way to go... :V

In the end, Ashford would have defused the situation, and since Weiss threatened you first, you could have gotten off with a self-defence plea, but most likely you wouldn't have, because her bodyguard would have calmly explained that yes, he hired you, yes, he gave you a keycard, yes, you're a moron who doesn't work well under pressure, and no, pressing charges isn't going to end well.

"If at all possible." If you ended up on the same team, you'd definitely grind each other's gears for a while, until the two of you eventually get tired of it and try to get over it- essentially, if you did end up on the same team, you would end up starting her social link a few months behind everybody else, and if you didn't, it would be locked off completely. Because, you know, stabbing somebody in the neck doesn't endear you to them, and neither does your pet robot shooting them in the face.

Honestly, below 0, meteorological events would have to start getting involved. Because nothing short of the sky actually falling on your head could make that situation worse.

But enough focusing on the past- let's focus on the past!

Currently, @Silversun17's vote is winning, which means walking with your morals held high and your wallet empty. The vote closes tomorrow night.

I can only speak for myself, but I will be amused if we can bring this up the next time the SDC tries to hire us for something. "The last time I worked for the SDC I was offered a 192,000 lien payment that was renegaded on."

Do we at least get to pick up an umbrella before we leave? Or maybe hitch a ride with Weiss? I suspect our eye-patch shouldn't get wet either.
Regardless, that's a matter for the future. There's a far more important matter to discuss than mere money: @Prok, when do we get a Fetch form for Cell?
Also, you never answered my incredibly important question. Luna when?

[X] Take your return to poverty like a champ. Fix her stuff up sans spyware and walk. Gain the gratitude of the daughter of a very powerful businessman, at the cost of pissing off the businessman himself, maybe.

I'm neutral on the subvotes so far, tbh.

Well, since the vote is ending tomorrow and I might not be able to log in tomorrow, might as well vote now.

Your eyepatch is really just to salvage your good looks, honestly.

And because you're basically blind in that eye right now anyway, so you might as well cover it up and not cause small children to cry. You're basically suffering from a mild yet unfortunately placed hyphema, alongside your sclera looking like somebody painted it with marinara sauce, and your sinuses being so clogged up with blood that you're gonna be crying red for a while, and man you're a goddamn wreck right now.

Don't worry, I know what you're all angling for.

Also, you never answered my incredibly important question. Luna when?
Ehh...

Ehhhh...

... Beacon? After initiation?

Shit, I genuinely don't know. Where does Luna sit in the Process hierarchy of forms?

Do we actually need an umbrella? Couldn't we just have the Transistor hovering over Jaune as an impromptu umbrella?
I mean, we could? But that wouldn't shield us from the weird stares we're gonna receive from the people we walk by. I'm sure we'd rather use a normal umbrella than use the Transistor so we can avoid accidental impalement and cutting of our surroundings.

Jaune gets weird stares literally all the time since he takes the Transistor with him wherever he goes. Not to mention that he is careful of causing any damage and such things are not really an issue for him.

-[x] In the long run, having Weiss Schnee in your debt is probably going to be worth a lot more than a new car. The warm fuzzies are a nice perk too. It's certainly more than you were expecting when you arrived at the hotel either way.

Can I ask some of the "my integrity is not for sale" voters to please reconsider? Because as it stands Jaune would be a massive hypocrite saying that, as has been explicitly called out by the QM.

People who accept shady backroom deals for unreasonable amounts of money shouldn't throw stones. And, well... we're literally going to be breaking the law while saying it. We aren't reporting Weiss while legally obligated to, after all.

He has a good point.

Fetches are like the second or third form you meet. Before Sybil at least.

But, the Process forms in Transistor aren't appearing in the order of their creation. The Jerks in particular are "an older form" but still specialized, suggesting that the other forms are "newer". I don't think that Process evolution is linear, I think it's needs-based. Function defines form, then form is iterated on. 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, until you reach a limit or needs change.

So! When a new need is identified, a new form is designed. What need does Jaune have?
The Fetches always were human-aggressive.

@Redshirt Army makes a compelling argument.

... I called what out where now?

Point taken.

I give it around a month, anyway, and it'll have a few forms underneath its metaphysical belt by then.

I'm going to ride my write-in down into the ground. The captain goes down with his ship.

I would like to note that your only response to finding out about Hyper Arcade's shady business practices was 'Oh. Wow.'

And then to immediately continue walking to your desk.

I get where you're coming from, but this Jaune is shockingly amoral if enough money is part of the equation. If you hadn't actually met Weiss, there's every chance he would have just installed it and walked.
I think @Redshirt Army is reading more into that comment than you actually meant to say.
I mean, yes, that's pretty much the entire reason he had that reaction- it was abstract, to an extent, and they obviously paid their dues for it by being stuck making shitty mobile games. I know people who would flat-out refuse to work with a company like that, no matter how much they seemed to pay for their sins. Something like this, murdering someone's privacy in front of them, yeah, no, that's a bit much for him.
Especially considering what you said later.

Alright. I kind of hope the original Cell will stick to that form even as the rest of the Process becomes anything and everything.

Speaking of Luna, her name brings up an interesting question. How long until the Process is strong enough to fix the broken moon? Is that kind of stuff Endgame or Epilogue content?
