Hiding From Unstable Spirits (Date a Live/Tsukihime)[SI](Spoilers)

Interlude : Fou
He was a Nature Spirit and a Beast of the Planet.

Some called him a Beast of Calamity, others simply called him Cath Palug.

That didn't matter to him, especially ever since that 'loathsome wretch' took him as his familiar.

Avalon was nice, warm, and calm. The Tower of Imprisonment where he rested comfortably with the useless mage was nice too.

Until that bloodsucking pervert decided to call and visit them asking for a favor, said favor ending with Cath Palug being thrown off the tower and right into a rainbowy hole.

If he ever gets to meet them again, he will show them his fury!

But he can't truly complain that much as his current situation, as he still remembers that after the initial confusion has worn off he managed to get a hold of himself and focused on his surroundings.

And he might have been worried when no matter how he strained himself, he simply could not feel Gaia's influence on the world. This world of course had mana in it, heck, the whole city he found himself in was made on a giant leyline.

But then he felt him.

Another Nature Spirit that was standing close to... a rather odd existence made out of pure mana similar to that of the world, but somehow much weaker and yet somehow connected to another one that was so much greater.

And when he reached them the existence must have recognized him judging by the fact that it runs away from him in terror... the same terror that his fellow Nature Spirit felt when he recognized him.

Why did he insist on calling him Fou though?

Still... a True Ancestor calling himself Alaya? How did that ever happen?

Cath Palug, of course, knew about the True Ancestors but he didn't meet any personally. But he was sure that among them Alaya was surely the weirdest one.

For one, not remembering his past or having a good grasp on his own abilities? Gaia may be not present in this world but that shouldn't affect a True Ancestor to such level, he acted more like a stumbling child than someone that would be hailed as Royalty. And he didn't even know about it!

To be fair he didn't even know what his little bird familiars were up to after ordering him to spy around the city and be warry of a certain individual, unaware how liberally those two have taken his orders.

But he was still caught by surprise when Alaya used his Marble Phantams to try and recreate Avalon in the world, and it was pretty accurate for someone who didn't even visit it. Cath Palug considered sharing his memories with the young True Ancestor to help him with recreating it.

Alaya also refused to explain why he knew this much of this world they found themself in and about the odd existence known as the 'Spirit of Origin'.

However... he was a rather nice company and his treats were not bad either. Nor was the attention that Cath Palug was receiving from the girls known as 'Spirits'. Those girls were rather nice and kind, even if the blue-haired boy and the purple-haired girl seemed a bit uneasy around him at first. It must have been because of their more direct connection with the First Spirit that Alaya had mentioned.

Overall, his companion seemed quite interesting as he apparently cared a lot for the people living in that house, yet he clearly was hiding something from everyone as the memory of Alaya's internal panic resurfaced in his memory.

Alaya is attempting to hide his identity as one of those 'Spirits', so why did he almost had a breakdown when asked about his human past?

Just one oddity after another.

Same with this girl that currently lying on Alaya's bed while he's out shopping. Why did he just allow her to use his own hotel room whenever she liked it? He knew that she was a mass murderer, even if he said to her that they shared a goal.

But as Cath Palug looked at the sleeping girl's face, he himself couldn't help but think that she at that very moment... looked like any other girl her age should.

And her petting and scratching ain't to bad too so he might as well enjoy it.

XXXXX

Yup, something from Fou's PoV, a quick recap of what he thinks about his situation and Alaya. And yeah, Al didn't tell Fou that he was a human because I feel it would be stretched for even Fou to believe that.
Next thing will be a short Interlude from Reine/Phantom and after that season 2 of the anime will start a day before the school trip.
Also, I'm still working on other Interludes and Omakes.

So, a Nature Spirit, a very deadly Magical Girl, and a Phantasmal Beast walk into a hotel room at the same time...

Nothing blew up, fortunately.

Understandable, a human becoming a True Ancestor makes absolutely no sense. Humans can become Dead Apostle Ancestors, but not True Ancestors. True Ancestors were literally created by Gaia to rule over\oppress humanity, making a human into a True Ancestor is completely inexplicable even by Nasuverse standards.

Huh. Can Fou not hear himself talk?
His words are perfectly comprehensible to himself.

Hahahahahahaha.

Fou isn't a Phantasmal Beast, Phantasmal Beasts are nothing compared to Fou.

Fou is Primate Murder, Beast IV, the first of the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors, the Breed of Calamity, a Beast of Gaia created for the explicit purpose of killing humans. He is, in fact, the best at killing humans; nothing can kill humans as effectively and efficiently as Primate Murder. Even ORT cannot kill humans as good as Primate Murder can.

Fortunately he only takes the form of Primate Murder if the Common Sense of Man, aka Alaya, is too weak to suppress him and\or he gets picked up by Altrouge. Thus, most of the time he gets to be Cath Palug, aka Fou, the king of floof.

Merlin throwing Fou off the Tower of Avalon is also a thing that happens rather a lot.
This is why Fou Does Not Like Merlin.

That is not mutually exclusive with being a Phantasmal Beast. In fact, it kind of has being a Phantasmal Beast as a prerequisite. It just means that he is a particularly unique one with the potential to also be a particularly powerful one.

Sort of; 'Phantasmal Species' refers to literally every legendary\fantastical creature that isn't 100% human.

But 'Phantasmal Beast' is a specific subcategory of Phantasmal Species: Phantasmal Species have a number of subcategories, the most numerous of which are Magical Beasts.

Magical Beasts are usually ranked in order of Mystery\Mystics, starting with the weakest Monstrous Beasts, then Phantasmal Beasts, then the most powerful Divine Beasts. There are also Phantasmal Beasts of the Millennium-Rank (aka thousand-plus-years-old Phantasmal Beasts), though exactly how they differ from Divine Beasts is unclear, beyond the age requirement. (Presumably Divine Beasts require Divinity to be involved somewhere, and Millennium-Rank Phantasmal Beasts do not. But only the mushroom knows for sure.)

There are also Chimeras, which are Magical Beasts that are created by taking a bunch of different Magical Beasts and mashing them all together. Chimeras fall outside the usual Magical Beast rankings, because they can have parts from any rank.

Finally, the Twenty Seven Dead Apostle Ancestors are also considered Magical Beasts. Primate Murder is technically considered to be a Monstrous Beast, but the nature of his Mystery\Mystics is such that he far exceeds even the greatest Divine Beasts in actual capabilities.

This is because Primate Murder is a Transcendent Kind; which refers specifically to 'terminals' separated and given form by Gaia as a defense against humanity. Elementals and True Ancestors are other examples of Transcendent Kind, also known as Nature Spirits.

So Primate Murder\Cath Palug\Fou is not a Phantasmal Beast, he is a Monstrous Beast and Transcendent Kind, but most importantly he is a Beast of Calamity and Evil of Humanity; Beast IV, a classification that trumps all others because Beasts Of Calamity Are The Most Serious Business.

Uhhh I re-read Fou's interlude a bit because I am a bit bored and I kinda forgot 'bout this lol.
Cath Palug, of course, knew about the True Ancestors but he didn't meet any personally.
Though I remember Fou could speak if the lil' guy wants to... though I know Al has a hard time on his 'flying' ability and I remember that flight is possible in modern times so his magecraft would be stuck about that even the mordern magi in Nasuverse can't easily do it anymore that some resort to the Touko Travel which is... absolutely terrifying...

Al don't have the ridiculous OP Kaleidosticks and the mentality of the simple thout that magical girls could fly(looking at ya Prisma Illya) but I think he would resort to MP instead or go Bleach mode of floating?

Sorry for ranting but I am just interested in how the guy would make his 'Spirit' disguise solid lol.

Well, I thought of either creating floating platforms of ice that Al could manipulate in the air or him learning how to constantly manipulate the gravity around him. That or using a very strong wind around himself.
Also, don't mages know how levitate? I swear that at least Tokiomi Tohsaka was able to land from height pretty well.

He could also wrap those flower petals around him like a harness under his clothes and then just move the petals

Haven't seen Fate/Zero besides some snippets but what you describe seems to be possible with either a form of reinforcement/body enhancement, manipulation of conceptual BS like momentum or stuff, gravity, or even just pushing his feet with a counter acting force to bleed the speed and force on landing.

Well I'm gonna be quoting straight from the wiki about Tokiomi here so: "He is also shown to be capable of manipulating air currents to land from a great height and despite the elemental difference "
So, mages can use some form air magic to at the very least glide safely and land on the earth.

Also, if Al would use air for flight he would confuse everyone even more as he would show that he is capable of using both ice and air, something that is linked to Yoshino and the Yamai sister respectively. And he didn't even get a chance to show off the ability to use fire that is also something unique to Kotori's Angel.

Ah so it's still not true flight lol.

Yeah and I guess he would really need to let his abilities show in a 'thematical' way when he really need to manifet his 'angel' too lol.

Though he is already seen warping reality with his 'Garden of Avalon' expy and 'Senbonsakura' expy and 'teleportation' lol.

I think if BS about making use of the spirits around ala Shintoism stuff might snag some reaction in the people digging around for information 'bout him.

I wonder, if Al gets good enough at magecraft, if he could teach Shido? Obviously that would probably end terribly because magecraft is dangerous to learn and it shows a fair bit of Al's hand, but I really want to see everyone wtf at there suddenly being this new form of magic humans can use and its Shido that can use it.

Handing Shidou one of his "prana gems", like the one he gave to Kurumi, might be a good idea.
It can be used as an emergency power booster for some of the Spirits.
Then again, Tohka, Yoshino and Kotori are all very OP at the moment so it's not going to be used a lot... unless it's really an emergency.

It would be funny if he gave Sidon 'Avalon', the others were so confused.
(Ps: is it me, or does he (Sidon) act like a certain dense redhead, who wants to be a hero of justice?)

Fixed the names for you, BTW.

Firstly, Alaya doesn't have a complete copy of Avalon within him, nor his imagination be THAT good enough to imagine it, so that's impossible.

If you're referring to his knockoff Garden of Avalon, I think that's tied to his Marble Phantasm which is pretty much an intrinsic part of Alaya, so it's not possible... unless for some reason, Shidou manages to create a Reality Marble.

Though the comparison with Emiya Shirou?
There are similarities between the two of them, since they're LN protags VN protags harem leads, but I don't think Shidou has ideals of saving people or being an Ally of Justice.

He's perfectly fine with saving the Spirits and being their Ally, however.
Doesn't help that the people closest to him are indeed Spirits...

Sadly, in this world, neither the Scabbard nor the actual paradise exists because despite of magical energy being real in this world, it never had gods or phantasmal species, and as such the Reverse Side of the World doesn't exist.

And yeah, Shido has some similarities with Shirou, but it's mainly that they are both dense idiots with little self-preservation instincts. But where Shirou wants to save everyone, Shido only wants to save and protect the Spirits at all costs.

* Turns red with embarrassment * Oh, it as soon as you write his name ? ,thank you for correcting those mistakes.

Question: the connection of Merlin with Fou still working? why is it said that Merlin can watch the world, out of his prison, through him.
If so, he must be having a great time with Al's trolling.
Zelretch should be very proud.

So Tomorrows the School Trip
I groaned when stretching myself on the couch while the light passing through the windows woke me up, even though I could swear I covered said windows.

I miss my bed.

And that is because my bed is currently being occupied by Kurumi who is snuggling with Fou there, and that is one thing I can be grateful for in this situation as the girl's teasing is quite unbearable.

Yeah, the girl went and became a full-blown freeloader and uses my hotel room as her own now. I've never thought that a bedroom, a small kitchen, a bathroom, and the guestroom would feel this small.

And this is without counting all the clones that also love nothing more than to tease me...

"Ara ara, already awake?" Asked one of the three heads that were leaning over the couch and staring at me smugly.

"Good morning," I answer lazily and sit up to think about what to make for breakfast, internally thanking Shido for sharing some recipes for such dishes and acquired some extra stuff for the kitchen.

"What are you making for breakfast~?" Asked another one of the clones as she leaned her head on my shoulder.

They don't even need to eat, they're clones for goodness sake! I'm just being forced to get more food and cook larger portions and I bet that is just Kurumi's way of getting back at me.

"Rice and fried fish." I answer with an annoyed tone and ignore the pouting looks that the clones sports in their pretty faces. "No complaining, not like any of you need to eat anyway."

Sighing, I went straight towards the kitchen and ignored the yelping clone that was supporting her head on my shoulder as she landed face-first on the couch making the other two giggle.

Roughly two weeks and I'm already somewhat used to Kurumi and her antics, but I still regret inviting her here a little bit.

Because how was I supposed to know that she will decide to move in here after we agreed on some basic alliance against Mio, where of course I didn't tell her everything because I'm sure the girl would have made a suicide charge against Reine.

At least she still believes in the Counter Guardian excuse I gave when we first met and when she demanded to know why Mio wasn't stopped or targeted earlier I had to give a half-truth about infinite timelines and the limited amount of Counter Guardians and that she was lucky that it was me who was sent instead of the usual agent who would simply destroy the whole city if the threat was there.

Admittedly, I had to stifle my laughter when her face went pale at that particular part.

But we eventually came to an agreement where Kurumi confirmed my knowledge of her trying to gather enough power to use her twelfth bullet and go back in time to kill Mio, alas there is still the problem of knowing the exact date and place where she appeared.

And our solution to that was The Second Spirit, as Kurumi assumed that she would have some connection with Mio. And I decided to share what little I remember from the wiki about her.

Nia Honjou was her name and her Angel had the power to make the Spirit near-omniscient, which made Kurumi quite excited of course. Sadly I couldn't remember at all where was she supposed to be held by the DEM, but what I did remember just made me want to murder Isaac even more than before.

I just hope that I and Shido will not have to deal with the consequences of Isaac's cruelty after I rip out his still beating black heart out of his blood che-

"Good morning~." My violent fantasy was suddenly cut off by a voice coming from behind me.

And as I turned around to face the original Kurumi that must have just woken up I notice that she's holding a sleepy Fou in her arms, her hair flowing down freely covering her left eye, and...

"Why are you wearing my coat?" I asked the girl with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, it is rather large and I do like the color~" She answers with a sly smile.

"Alright, let me rephrase the question... why are you wearing only my coat?" I asked tiredly and turn around, knowing full well what will come next.

"Ara ara? Would you like me to drop it, onii-chan?" She teases me and I swear I can hear her do a spin on her bare feet.

She is definitely getting back at me.

"Dress yourself or the clones will eat your portion." I respond dismissively as I ready the plates.

"Ara ar-" She starts before I decide to cut her off.

"I WILL drown you in kittens if you try to continue this." I threaten her with a cuddly death that seems to work as she walks back to the bedroom all the while giggling.

If only I could tease her in revenge with something more than Shido and her Ally of Justice phase... though she would look a lot cuter with an eye patch and red roses in her hair.

"Fou?" Questioned the little beast that must have freed himself from Kurumi's grip and is sitting by my leg.

"Yeah, that is our lives now..." I agree with my small friend as I serve breakfast to the three clones that are already sitting by the small round table and are too giggling.

Let's just hope there will be no problems on Shido's side today.

--------------

BOOM!

"I've expected that but I am still somehow surprised." I whispered quietly as I was looking at one of the higher windows of the apartment that's next to Shido's house where the Spirits are supposed to live.

Also, there is quite literally frost leaking out from the window that was busted open and freezing the glass and walls around it, and since I and Fou both sense a small burst of Yoshino's Spirit energy I can safely guess what is happening right now there.

On the plus side, Tohka's energy seems to be still dormant compared to Yoshino's at least. Did she actually take my advice to her heart and doesn't panic and imagine that Shido would abandon her over the most trivial things?

Then again, besides dealing with Kurumi and my rather elusive familiars I have also spent quite a lot of time with the girls here to help Shido out from time to time.

"Fou?" Asked Fou about our destination.

"Yup, the couch. I bet it will take a while for them to sort this morning out, so we'll wait for them." I answered with a small chuckle as I open the door to the Itsuka household and head towards the violet couch as I usually do when visiting them, much to Kotori's unending annoyance and my amusement.

Amusement that I felt right now as Shido bolted down the stairs and outside the house to run towards the Spirit apartment, and still no sign of Tohka's mana spiking up.

Seems that my efforts of trying to ease Tohka into the truth that Shido would not leave her were successful, but she is still as naive as she was in the story and as such, I need to watch out for Origami taking advantage of that.

I don't want her to ruin all the progress that Tohka has made so far which would also notify Isaac that Tohka was leaking out Spirit mana in the city, even though I am sure that the bastard already knows everything.

Then I heard the sound of light feet walking down the stairs and turning around I saw that a fully dressed Kotori was now making her way towards the couch, an annoyed expression on her face.

"Tsk, why are they being so noisy already? Isn't he free today?" Kotori asked no one in particular and sighed and looked around. "At least Al isn't here already."

And I had to try and not to snicker at how wrong the girl was as I watched her get closer and reach for the TV remote that was on the small table in front of the couch before she went and sat... straight on my lap.

"..."

An uncomfortable silence fills the room. Then slowly, Kotori turns her head towards me who just revealed himself with an absolutely emotionless look, as her bright red eyes meet my darker ones... We just stare at each other for what felt like an eternity.

"...good morning?" I said awkwardly as I began to reinforce my whole body in preparation for what's to come.

"Y-You... you..." She starts trembling as her cheeks turn red and her hands are balled into a pair of fists. " YOU PERVERT!"

She yells out and jumps off my lap and turns around to face me to send a fist right into my gut that thankfully doesn't hurt much, but surprisingly enough has enough strength to send me over the couch and onto the floor behind it.

Did I just sense a spike in Spirit mana from her?

"Glad to see you too, Kotori-chan~." I said smugly while still lying on the ground and looking up to the girl who's standing imperiously in an aggressive pose on the couch as Fou decides to jump on her shoulder.

"S-Shut up!" She shrieks in return, and glares down on me, most likely contemplating what 'suffering' she would give me in return to my 'perversion'. "Stop doing that!"

"In my defense, I was there first and it was you who sat in my lap." I tried to defend myself from the furious girl and I could swear I saw some small flames flying around her head as I got up from the floor.

"Is there a chance you will forget this and we just sit back and wai-" My poor attempt at disarming the situation was clearly in vain as the twin-tailed girl start to crack her knuckles as a sadistic grin adorned her face.

...

Shido, save me!

And like an angel sent down from heaven, the boy in question stormed through the door with Tohka close behind him.

"Kotori I heard you scream, what is happ-" Shido shouted out before abruptly stopping and seeing the situation for himself.

A rather upset Kotori standing on top of the couch with Fou on her shoulder and me standing near the table, me who quickly pretended that nothing is happening and with a snap of my fingers I disappeared from their senses.

Just to swiftly 'pop' back behind the boys back with my hands on his shoulders to use him as a meatshield.

"Good morning Shido, Tohka~." I said joyously with a wide grin.

"A-Al? What has happened here for Kotori to scream?" Shidou asked in surprise and didn't notice the happy wave of the hand that Tohka directed at me as he tried to have eye contact with me.

"I-It's because... h-he." Kotori tried to stutter out an answer when she jumped down from the couch and directed a finger at me.

"She sat on my lap." I answered without missing a beat with an even greater grin than before, causing the tsundere to turn even redder. "I think she's getting used to me being her second older brother."

At that, Shido was simply confused while Tohka seemed to be in joy at that.

"Really? I am so happy for you Kotori!" Tohka almost shouted in her excitement, not realizing that it was a joke.

Kotori however was not amused by this, as even Fou sensed the upcoming trouble and decided to bail the girl's shoulder in the favor of the couch. Then the little girl jumped off the furniture and ran towards us with murder in her eyes.

"Eep!" She yelped as she slipped in her charge... on a very thin layer of ice that appeared on the path of her charge.

And as I saw the girl slide towards us on the ice I've created so I quickly abandon my position behind Shido and sidestepped and stood right next to a surprised Tohka. And we watched Kotori as she-

THUD!

-collided with Shido with the girl ending up on top of her adopted brother and giving him a small peck on the lips thanks to her losing her lollipop on the slip-up, causing Tohka to gasp and me to chuckle.

God, this is so cliche... and I am responsible for this.

" Oh, dear, who would have thought that both of you have a very 'intimate' way of greeting each other good morning~." I said teasingly causing them to raise their red-colored heads glare at me with anger and embarrassment.

That's definitely one way to start a morning.

--------------
"So... I think I should have mentioned it earlier, but I can sense Origami standing outside the house for about ten minutes now." I said casually to Shido, Tohka, and Yoshino that were sitting by the table and eating breakfast made by the boy while I sat on the couch with Fou next to me.

This of course caused all three of them to stare at me with wide eyes... a shame Kotori left a bit earlier after the whole chaos in the morning subsided. Though I still want to laugh a bit when I remember her face stuck between fury and gratefulness.

"T-Tobichi Origami! W-What is this wicked woman doing here?!" Not surprisingly enough it was Tohka who questioned this revelation first while Yoshino and Shido had a worried look on their faces.

"Calm down Tohka, I'm sure Origami doesn't mean any harm." Shido tried to reassure the girl before abruptly reaching for his phone and frowned.

"It's from Origami?" I asked the boy and he reluctantly nodded. "I see, and you might be right Shido."

This seemed to catch their attention and by their looks I guessed, they wanted for me to elaborate.

" She feels like... lacking in a sense... maybe she doesn't have her Realizer gear" I said with an unsure tone.

In reality, I remembered that the girl was forbidden from using her AST gear as punishment for stealing that whole prototype, and she did genuinely feel different than say her squadmates that I saw around the city since they use some magical energy to work.

Also, Kotori gave me a lecture about the gear that the AST uses during one of our talks so I at least know what to call it. I sighed and focus my eyes on Shido and giving him a gentle smile.

"Origami was probably just released and wants to clear things up with you, so I think you could spare her some time." I spoke with a calm voice noting the rising irritation in Tohka.

"Ohoho, but what if she tries to steal Shido-san for herself, what then onii-chan~." Was Yoshinon's question that caused to Shido flinch, as if he was recalling a bad memory.

"Please, calm down with this way of thought girls. I believe that Origami hasn't told anyone about Spirits living in Shido's house, so I think he can at least hear her out now." I decide to cut this discussion short and laid the cards on the table.

Origami never told the AST about all the Spirits living with Shido and being students so I thought that she was owned at the very least some of Shido's time and attention.

This seemed to make Tohka pout, Yoshino seemed unsure but calm, and Shido slumped his shoulders in acceptance.

"I'll go and talk with her, maybe also buy something for lunch. Anyone wants something specific?" Shido asked us all, to which I simply shrugged and saw that Yoshino raised her right hand.

"Oyakodon." The little blue-haired girl spoke with her gentle and shy voice, almost melting me from the cuteness from such a simple thing.

"Alright, I'll be back soon." The teen nodded with a smile before he walked towards the door.

"Fine fine, meanwhile its time for our favorite soap opera!" The puppet exclaimed happily before switching the channels.

"Fou." Sounded the little furball when it sat in Tohkas arms by the table.

Thanking Fou for the distraction, I quickly followed after Shido to make him promise me something. I caught up with him right in front of the house where we both noticed a white-haired girl hiding behind a lamp post just a few meters away.

"Al?" Shido asked in surprise as he looked behind after hearing my footsteps.

"Yeah, I just wanted to ask you something." I said after pulling the boy into whispering range while noting the annoyed glare I received from the hiding Origami. "When was the last time you went on a date with Tohka?"

And as much as I wanted to laugh at his embarrassed expression as his cheeks were turning red, I decided to hold this for another time and simply sighed.

"Calm, just... after you're done with Origami invite Tohka to for a date, alright?" I explained to him calmly and after seeing him nod I smiled. "Good, now go get her tiger."

And with a push to his back, I send him towards the semi hiding girl and chuckled while hearing his denial and I waved at the confused girl.

As I entered the Itsuka household once again I was relieved to see that Yoshino and Tohka were still sitting and watching the TV and that the latter was spoiling the small beast in her lap rotten.

"So, are you ready for tomorrow's school trip, Tohka?" I asked the girl when I walked back in which seemed to temporarily return her to reality.

"Huh? Yeah... but why are you asking this Al?" She asks me with a bit of confusion as she tilts her head to the side a little.

"Oh? Did Kotori not tell you that I'm also going with you and Shido?" I calmly exclaim and watch as the girl's eye go wide.

"But, you're not going to our school?" She questions me again.

"Yes, that's why Kotori only got me a plane ticket to fly with you, I'm going to have to find lodging for myself once we get there." I explain to her the rough plan I made with a reluctant Kotori.

Which I don't blame the girl for, after all, Ratatoskr wants to seal Spirits, and a male Spirit that's unsealed but still stubbornly hangs around Shido and the other Spirits? Yeah, that's not suspicious at all, that's why Kotori could bring me on the board of the Fraxinus only once but the meeting with Reine made it worth.

As passive as she tried to look during our brief meeting at the bridge, Fou later confirmed that she was utterly terrified of him.

"Ah, I'm happy to know that, we are going to have so much fun!" The girl almost exploded with joy right now.

Though Tohka was rather happy, I noticed that Yoshino was... sulking?

"Yoshino, are you alright?" Concerned I asked her about it.

"Um... it's just that you and Shido and Tohka are going to be away..." She quietly muttered her complaint... which almost tore my heart apart.

So I approached her and gently put my hand on her head ruffling her hair a little bit and smiled.

"I know, but I promise we will make it up to you... and besides I am sure that Kotori would love to spend some time with you too." I tried to reassure the little girl and so I make a promise. "Say, when we come back from the trip, I'll create something nice in the garden alright? Just don't tell Kotori about."

The girl seemed to consider it and after a moment she nods her head and graces us with a beaming smile.

So...cute.

After I snapped myself free of the girl's charm I directed my attention at Tohka.

"I assume that Shido has packed himself already, did you too Tohka?" I asked her with the secret hopes that she will not mistake Shido's packet clothes with the plot of the drama she's now watching, after all, better safe than sorry.

I watch as the girl freezes for a moment then, thinks... and she runs out of the house and towards the apartment with Fou clinging to her, leaving me and Yoshino gawking at her disappearing from behind the corner of the wall.

"Haha, looks like silly Tohka totally forgot about it." Comments Yoshinon with a hint of smug.

"Yup." I say as I sat down on the couch next to Yoshino and relax.

After all, tomorrow I'm meeting miss 'Number One Wizard' and I think of what kind of impression I should leave on Ellen. And how much of a rank up will I be assigned if I utterly humiliate her?

-------

Luckily Shido came back quickly after his talk with Origami and complained to me that the girl has dragged him out to help her choose energy drinks for the school trip, which of course I found funny.

He later asked out Tohka for a quick date that consisted of getting her lots of kinako bread that she even shared when they got back, though she did insist that I use Reinforcement on at least some of the snacks.

Now, it's late in the evening and the sun is slowly setting making the darkness under the trees so much deeper. Not that it makes any difference to me since I can still see perfectly fine, and the presence of nature makes me feel that much... calmer.

Alas, its time to wrap this up, and with my eyes closed and focusing on the small tree branch, I manifest my Phantasm.

WHOOSH!

And as I open them I see the small branch lying on the ground, perfectly cut in the place I aimed at.

With a heavy sigh and a chuckle, I pick up Fou from the ground next to me and put him on my shoulder, the little beast gladly grabbing hold of it.

"Fou?" He asks me about our next destination.

"Yes, hotel room and then going to sleep, and let's hope Kurumi ain't pulling anything funny." I said hopefully, as the girl can be quite annoying if she wants to, the critter simply nods in agreement.

-------

...

"Ara, you're earlier than I expected onii-chan~." Kurumi teasingly comments at my blank stare.

"... I'm going to sleep." I tiredly answer and drop on the couch, trying to ignore the giggling girl who somehow acquired a pair of cat ears and a tail.

XXXXXX

So, it took me a while to write this down, I think it might be to writer block? Not sure.
I also took some liberty with the timeline, as in the anime S2 started a week before the school trip... and Shido was already packed and ready for it, like really? Also, I think it was supposed to be a full month after the Kotori incident, but 3-4 weeks is close enough in my opinion.
Anyway, the events of season two have officially started, and we have a lot of calmer Tohka who doesn't throw a tantrum over a misunderstanding.
There will be also Interludes from the cast's perspective about Al, some talks, or simply their opinions on the 'male Spirit'. The next one would be from Reine/Phantom.
So... what do you people think about this chapter? Something to improve? Some inconstancy?

I'm not the most familiar with Date a live, so I'm not the best for accuracy, but I didn't see any problems. It felt like one of those chapters needed to move things along, but it wasn't boring (I thought it was pretty funny) so good job.

I am definitely interested in Reine's perspective though

Everything is fine. You did a great job. If you feel writer's block, take a small break and do something else just to give your brain a break.

I love this story, please pace yourself if you feel overwhelmed. I don't want you burning out on us and dropping this fic. I know I've done that to most of my fics.

This chapter was amazing and I'm so hyped for the upcoming interludes. I'm fully hoping for some Frieza/Cell/Alucard quotes in his upcoming play date with Ellen (hopefully some JoJo references in there too). Anyways, great chapter, I can totally see Al walking around the Fraxinus with the classic "I know something you don't" smirk everywhere.
