Heralds of Ruin (Wh40k Quest)

Honestly if inquisitors were more reasonable they would realize that a through purge is all that's needed it would take time but it would also not kill an entire planet.

The work of the Inquisition is to literally put a veil of ignorance in humanity eyes so they don't 'stray from the true path' of course this ranges from hunting chaos cults to crushing 'rebellions' (ie. Peaceful Protests) who only wanted better living conditions. Lets be serious working 23 hours every day is absurd.

This is why the imperium is doomed to failure...shame we couldn't be a rouge slave marine faction and not chaos...I would have loved to duck over the inquisitors and their bullshit as we either A) work with the necrons to pylon the fucking galaxy or B) subvert the Tau Empire and make it a actual force of good...

Which case it becomes a more space marine run federation of mankind...with imperial tech understanding and much more ducking capabilities to the point where the new federation becomes a ridiculous level threat for its small size.

It would boil down to quality vs quantity, like all the fights the necrons do. For a canonical example: One necron escort breaks through imperial defenses of sol the capital system of the imperium.

The Death of a World
The World of Klus 6 is a burned, molten world, many would assume that the world suffered some great catastrophe and they would be right.

That catastrophe was the Ordo Hereticus a branch of the Inquisition who handled the 'traitors to mankind' and purged them without hesitation, this is why they are nicknamed 'the witch hunters'.

Let us go back, before the world of Klus 6 was destroyed by the Inquisition and why it was destroyed...

Klus 6 was as the name suggested the sixth world of the Klus system, it was once the hive world of the Adim Sector, a particular notorious Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus was drawn to the world after rumors about a rebellion brewing on the world.

The Infamous Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov the purger of Salem Proctor touched upon the world in 986.M41 and started countless kidnappings and massacres in search of the rebels. His throne of judgment on constant work.

There were 500 billion souls on Klus 6 before the Inquisitor arrived, when Karamazov stopped with his purges there only 100 million imperial citizens left alive on the world. Karamazov did not find the rebels and so he enacted the final solution to stop the rebellion from spreading across the sector.

A Exterminatus was enacted upon the planet a cyclonic torpedo was launched and the world burned, continents cracked as the temperature skyrocketed, the atmosphere was gone in seconds, and all civilians were dead.

Karamazov response as the world burned below him was to congratulate himself on a job well done, he then lefted the system.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Fun Fact: There actually wasn't a rebellion brewing on the world, the actual rebellion was on another planet which coincidently resided in the same sector, since Karamazov response is always to burn down everything and everyone he didn't discover this.

You know... if we were to follow him and have someone record his actions that would be a good way to ferment rebellions. If it were known that he went to the wrong world and killed everyone and destroyed said worlds resources that could be pretty damning.
Ahh nevermind just read it again this happened awhile ago didn't it.

This would be worth a legions weight in gold to the right worlds...if we pull that off we could potentially fuck the inquisition over the point where it's a non-power in the imperium!!

Or at least start the second civil war, or maybe a warlord era as sectors throw off the greater imperium and go to war with each other?

or maybe a warlord era as sectors throw off the greater imperium and go to war with each other?
After the death of Emperor (which bittaway is coming really close) this will happen no ifs or buts. Well unless a Primarch returns to lead the Imperium but won't happen. The Imperium as it is right now is unsalvageable you have the rebuild it from the ground up or set up your own empire. The loyalist Primarchs will chose the later after they return, because at the point the Imperium won't exist anymore.

Year 4

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A Investigation fleet sent by the Imperium had been destroyed save for a single ship which managed to escape destruction and has likely already warned them about their presence in the sector.

The Warband prepared for the inevitable attack of the Imperium of Man, now that the Imperium is aware of their existence. But while the Imperium is undeniably strong it is slow to move itself in the wake of a new threat.

This can be used by the Warband to attain new holdings before the wave of attacks begins.

Through the sector battlefleet may be already assembling to attack their domain, the Warp-Smith Lord of the warband Hephaestus searched in the old databases of Osnaruta and other worlds of their empire where the sector battlefleet resides when it is not on patrols or in conflicts, it did not take long for him to find where it is normally stationed in the case of a conflict.

The battlefleet is divided into four groups to protect the worlds of KN-78, LO-90, Klein, and Lockus, respectively.

Okay this plan basically is a massive fucking crash-build of...well...everything really. Frankly this is ridiculous if we got these numbers, then again the imperium constantly wastes its shit HARD...and considering were about to hit the big timer of the sector? im expecting the forge world to be tougher then nails here, so leaving 1/3 of our space marines beheind to keep "order" on our worlds as we massively increase all production orders and prepare for the mass invasion...sure we arent patrolling the region, but the imperium isnt mustering the might right now...still though, once the defenses are finished it would take a entire crusade fleet to take these worlds.

Im not joking either, as space assets would be 200x5 alone for space defenses, and 150x5 for ground defenses...which is BLOODY INSANE for the imperium, as in we become almost as hard to take as bloody damn CADIA!!! only without the pylons AND the numerous chapters/forces there...just the defensive structures and planning alone will be nuts, and considering after this turn everything is about to go nuts. Not to mention Manufactoriums are going to be bloody insane.

Anyway got to go now, bed time for me here!

Upon the world of KN-78 rested a portionof the Rosarius sector battlefleet, they were assigned to protect the Forge World at any cost.

If this section of the battlefleet desired challenge they certainly got it as the force of a equivalent of a minor Black Crusade exited the warp and into the system.

Let the Emperor have mercy upon their souls, for the dreaded servants of ruin have none.

[] Write-in Invasion Plan

I dont think we need a fancy plan in the void battle, just mob them with our escorts then send boarding torpedoes to capture all the ships, we have 1000 space marines after all and they excel at this kind of battle. Orbitally bombard hard points though before landing troops. Though assassinating the titan princeps and capturing magoses would be a priority as well

Edit: coming up a plan..

[X] Ship Boarding and infiltrations
- [x] if we have any, use our pet psykers, navigators and sorcerers to disrupt the enemy from within (i.e. reports delayed, lost equipment, minor fires, sleeping officers, misheard orders) to delay their command and reactions
- [x] speed is the key in winning the void and our numerical advantage in the void battle is obvious, use said advantage to hamper and jamming the enemy commutications, coordinations and augurs.
- [x] disrupt the enemy lines using your larger numbers by attacking en masse and overwhelming the targeting cogitators of the imperials then launch boarding torpedoes at the optimal time and prioritize capturing the cruisers before the escorts.
- [x] for the ground invasion, speed again is the key and we must keep the enemy in the backfoot, orbital bombardment of key defense installations shall be made then land our ground forces in a strategic location. Make sure the enemy is distracted from looking inside their hives and focusing on said landing.
- [x] our marines meanwhile will infiltrate the titan hangars and kill their princeps as well as locating the mechanicus temples and eliminate or capture their leadership as well as sabotaging what we can.
- [x] we will also try to contact the mutant and discontent population and use propaganda warfare to have them aid us by sabotaging the loyalist forces.
- [x] we will also try to find and sway/convince the less loyal mechanicus that the logical decision is to join our forces so that they can properly do 'science' without the shackles of dogma.

also holy heck do we outnumber the imperials...like bloody hell we could throw our escort swarm at them to either smash into their forces and disgorge boarding forces, to ram into them to cause major damage. And then there's the whole regimental ridiculous levels of out-numbering them...sure titans help, but damn...

were going to need another year to massively build-up the sectors "defenses", and then launch a assault on the capital world. Most likely it will have taken most of the sector's defenses there.
