Dude, I removed Rose after I was informed she's a minor. Previous posts were prefaced on her being a participant, as the post you quoted shows clearly.

About reading entry dedications: I think we should do this. It is allowable and within our authority. We might not get everything we need from it, but we will get some of the things we need. That's a lot better than nothing.

Honestly telling them we were in charge was winning at 7 votes last I checked (tied for 1st place in its vote) so I think it did win.

We don't need to read these in order to learn their names and basic information. While they will probably contain useful information, I think it would be better to at least meet them all and get a sense of who they are before going in-depth on their applications and their hopes and dreams.

It will probably mean more if the girls confide the info with us themselves rather than having us read it all out of their files before we even meet.

@Evenstar are these files allowed to leave the room? Can we take a few with us and read through them in bed once the supplicants are starting to bed down for the night?
...Is there a bed in this office?

Someone who's better at counting than me: so, 20 files, 21 supplicants. Is the missing file someone we've already met, or is there a 21st supplicant who is totally unknown to us? If the latter, how do we find out more about them?

Rose, she's said that she does not want to do the trials and moreover to leave her by our Sister Priest I think.

Since we've already been discussing whether to read it, I think it's fairly safe to say Rose's file is still in the drawer.

We are short on time as it is, and we have the authority to read the files. If we want to have enough time to do any other preparations, then we should read the files. Anything else (like interviews) will take a prohibitive amount of time. It isn't an invasion of privacy, as they have given this information willingly to the Temple, and Eli is the one performing the Rite. If there is anyone who needs to see this information, it is her.
 
@Arkatekt: The sealed dedications shouldn't leave their locked drawer without being under a priestess' direct supervision, and shouldn't leave the room without a damn good reason.

There is a bed in the room, though it's considerably smaller and more utilitarian than most beds in the temple.

My only other suggestion at the moment would be to stay here tonight and read the files before sleeping, after sending the supplicants to bed.
