Her Mantle Is Love

I would like to elaborate on the reasoning for the way that I've voted.

I think that doing anything relating to the other Sisters at the moment is not a good idea, because they are likely as stressed as we are, given everything that's happened with Liath and with the Rites--not to mention Eli herself. We also are not likely to get any useful information out of them as to the procedures in a time like this. This entire situation is an edge case. I doubt that they have any more idea than we do. And besides, we've been given full control of the process relating to the Rites at this point, so we should take responsibility for it.

Right now, we need to make the best use of our time that we possibly can. The missing file is important, but I don't think it's so important that we should divert time and energy into it right now. We can bring it up to Ishaza or Tasha or someone else once we have a minute to breathe. I doubt that anything is going to go wrong if we let it go for a couple of days.

If we absolutely must inform someone about the missing file, then we can write a letter or a note or something to give to them. But, right now, it's lower priority than this highly urgent rite.

I suggested Melody as opposed to any of the gossips because Melody, being a Muse, will be able to get the information out in a way which will stick in people's heads--and she's more likely to actually relay what we want, instead of filtering it in whatever way the others do. If we wanted someone level-headed to join her, we could perhaps enlist Lily, seeing how calm and rational she seems to be.

@Iris you make a good point with regard to Melody. Is it okay if I integrate that in my plan to inform people about the conference?

@Kappa are you okay with such a change to the plan? It seems better than gossips for stage 5.

@RedV: Just post a new plan with a new name and vote for it: then others can change or not change their votes as they wish.

I still think that we should skip steps 2 and 3 of Plan Red, for the reasons I mentioned above.

[X] Plan Red V2

We should, in sequential order:
  1. talk to the gossips and ask about people to be particularly concerned about (ask all three, separately, so we can get less biased perspective for this)
  2. Then we talk to Ishaza about the missing applicant (try and get it out of her without stressing her, maybe asking her to help us refresh applicant names?)
  3. If this does not work and we are left ambiguous on status of missing person like if she cannot catch the hint, we outright ask her about it.
  4. After this, we go and check the application forms for risky applicants, preparing in advance for such ppl and
  5. then call for a conference with our preparations, asking Melody to spread the word to other supplicants.

I still think that we should skip steps 2 and 3 of Plan Red, for the reasons I mentioned above.
I believe that ~5 -10 minutes of additional talking about a relevant issue won't hurt us meaningfully even if it fails. The outcomes are nearly all good - if it turns out to be a red herring we don't have a new source of stress, and if it turns out that something's up it was something we already needed to do for a smooth Rite.

[X] Go find Ishaza or Tasha and ask about procedures for this kind of announcement.
[X] Organize an assembly later tonight so you can tell everyone at once.
[X] Just go about your business and tell everyone you encounter.

My personal theory on the missing file is that the twenty-first applicant has some sort of magical property that makes her impossible to document in writing. (We already know there's at least one – Echo – with properties that affect her file, so it's not unimaginable there might be another.)

But that makes so little sense. Is there like an Eldritch Demon that cannot be named else she is thrown out of reality?

Also @Evenstar are there spells in this world that can compel the truth like in D&D 5e? Just an idea but we can have all of them take some lie detector tests with those to find possible culprits. We can even be very American about it (HAH!) and say it's for security reasons.

Back on the QQ thread, @Evenstar said
- Non-innate magic is rare and precious, healing magic especially so. "Mage" is not a profession that exists.
so your plan, as cool as it is, might not be feasible.

What about in the use of scrolls? I mean it'd be expensive but a favor for a favor? ya know?

There is no magic that can compel truth without damaging its target, because compelling the truth is inherently damaging.

It will very likely take more than 5-10 minutes to find Ishaza's location, walk there, tell her, and walk back.

Also, not sure it is okay to leave the supplicants with no Sister in the vicinity in the event anything happens.

In my experience, when you are tasked with taking care of/watching people, and then you leave, that is when things always go to shit.

This is part of why I suggested that we save it for later. We will have other opportunities to talk about the missing file, and I don't believe there's any reason to believe it'll interfere with the Rite at the moment.

I kinda agree...ill switch my vote later.

This is a fascinating modern fantasy, almost magical realism tale that does something erotica almost always doesn't; make the characters real, breathing things. So even though BDSM isn't at all my thing, I want to see the daily lives of these characters.

Kudos to @Evenstar.

Has anyone ever seen this before btw? I hate to ask but id be interested to read more about this type of stuff. The idea of trust to build relationships is really appealing to me...as is the sex.

If you join QQ you can find sex-related stuff in the NSFW. You will, however, probably have to filter out lots of threads to find ones that cater to your own fetishes.

(i don't know about specific fluffy trust stuff because I do not follow those on QQ)

I'm so embarrassed by asking that btw. Jeez...thank you for the recommendations.

They do exist on QQ, but in my experience, they are the minority. Those I did find were often quite good though.
