Heavy Meta (No SV, You Are The Eldritch Horror!)

"You're alive! As I was saying, we'll meet the Doctor, and then celebrate being alive." Albert repeated.

"Should get a goood look around and some food, though, first." He said.
Mana continued to rub at her head, even as she nodded at the stranger. "That sounds good," She said with a smile, clapping. "Anyways, you can call me Mana. What should I call you?"

TeSt? No, That's Not Right. CloSer.

The girl flinched again, glancing around the room, looking a little off-put by the sound that only she could hear.

"Albert. Albert Ardin if you need to be formal about it." Albert replied.

Mina overhears this. "Mana and Mina. Huh. One letter from one of us being a name-thief." Then she shrugs and goes back to the food.

"Albert. Albert Ardin if you need to be formal about it." Albert replied.
Mana dropped into a quick curtsie, one that looked more like what someone would do if they had seen them before, but never really done them herself. "Just Mana for me, nothing more and of course, nothing less." There's a grin on her face, despite the words, "Any idea where we should go to meet the Doctor?"

Mou~ Mana's ignoring me. Fine. Then I'll just set this like so, and see if she's a little more interested in getting the tutorial now...

A shudder runs down the girl's spine as a feeling... slides, somehow, inside of her head. "Please stop that," She whispers, glancing away from the gentleman in front of her and focusing on the strange voice. "That feels funny."

No. Well, at least not yet. I need to make sure that everything is calibrated and properly synched up with your soul anyways, so you're going to have to deal with it for now. Once I make sure everything is set up correctly I'm gonna be mostly hands off, but I am constructing a gravitional matrix around your soul, this is not easy. Even for me.

A few minutes later, you each awake to a lab assistant standing over you, saying "Good news, the binding was a success! Doctor Hematite would like to see you in the break room in a few minutes so he can explain things."

The room you are in is large and rectangular, with the binding machine in the exact geometrical center. There are dozens of laboratory assistants scuttling about busily shutting down the machine, and there are several tables covered with diagrams, books of eldritch lore (only about half of it is the real deal; the rest is particularly creative rantings of mad authors), and miscellaneous debris.

Off in the corner is the door to the break room.

I take a deep breath as my eyes flicker open. It isn't quite pain that I feel, more of a discomfort. It may be psychosomatic of me though. I am aware I just had an otherworldly being shoved inside of me and am looking for sensations and hints of it. I nod to the lab assistant. "Ah, of course, thank you for the good news, if you will excuse me".

I stand slowly my legs not quite feeling solid. Lightheadedness? Interesting I will go and get some food and something to drink, I am heading to the break room after all. I take a deep breath and step inside looking over the people who are already there and giving a small blush having found one of them attractive and pulling my lab coat tighter as if it were a security blanket. I turn and look around the break room for something to eat to change my focus.

Relaxing as the disruptive people leave the room, Elizabeth flips through her book.

Unfortunately, it appears to be an indecipherable mess and she deposits it in the hands of the teenage lab assistant who has been hovering ineffectually around her.

"Yep. Break room. Where the food is, incidentally." Albert replied graciously, trying for a respectful nod.

"Need a hand?" He asked, noting Mana's uh, awkwardness and general discomfort.

He takes a good look around for anything that might catch his eye, before leading the others towards the Break Room. The ones who haven't yet gone there yet, anyhow.

Mana nods a little, reaching out to let the stranger help her up. If he attempts to, he'll discover that Mana seems to weigh nothing at all, maybe 5 pounds at most.

*Lick* *Lick* *Lick*
A pounding headache, pain, aching knee, a rough rubbing to the face and...a hissing sound followed by music.
With the exception of the last two, all these things had accompanied Darius awakening up before.
He was sure he did not drink the day before so the headache was odd...until he remembert the experiment. He had been put under artificialy before by means that were not alcohol, so he should have recognised the familiar ache. The music did confuse things, a bit.
Pain was his constant companion, to the point were its sting was dulled. That was the price you payed when you were mostly scar tissue. His knee was acting up, but that was to be expected with the small space...
The rough rubbing was a recent but not unwelcome addition, a Darius opent his eyes and saw the smilling face of Typhon. It was not a pretty face, but a face that he loved.
...might be because unused father instincts. Oh he had found love before, but those brief flashes of hope and happyness were often snuffed out by the black marsh that was the political system of the country he loved.
...his relationship with his fatherland was a good but abusive one, Darius knew that.
He took his cane from Typhos mouth, no damage on the smooth surface of the cane dispite Typhons corrosive drool ("Good boy Typhon, good boy"). As he lifted his beaten and batterd body, I noticed most of the others already up and about. Damn youngsters with their vigor, Darius chuckeld to himself, smirking.
"Hey, wait for me, these old bones are not vigorous as they used to be!" I say, jumping out of the pod in...a...smooth motion. Alright, that is new. Even knee didn't act up through the whole thing which is very much impossible. I sigh as I move over to the rest, leaning on my cane, deerhead sticking out proudly. "So, did I miss much? I seem to have taken a bit to wake up..."
My eyes scanned my companions of fate...
the factory worker (If the soldiers were a country's white blood cells, the factory workers were the red blood cells, keeping the body alive),
the lawyer (Man of many of words and -more often then not- a shacky moral compas),
the mystery girl (...wait, did not see here at some riot? After a while they all blended together...),
the street rat (To many of this countries youth are forced to live on the streets...it brough sadness to his old heart. If he could he would haven taken in a child from one of the orphanages...as it stands, visting once in a while was enough...Could he still do that now, after what he had become?),
the shelterd girl (the gilden cage is not as pleasent as most think it is)
and the others...who he had trouble remembering. Damn his failing memory.

Mana nods a little, reaching out to let the stranger help her up. If he attempts to, he'll discover that Mana seems to weigh nothing at all, maybe 5 pounds at most.
Albert helps Mana up, like the gentleman he was.

...

Oh dear. Was she malnourished? Did she suffer from some incurable illness?

Darius sees the young gentleman helping the child up and walks towards them (his cane tapping on the floor), speaking to the girl "Are you alright little one? Are you need of assistance?"

The girl looks completely baffled, waving a hand through the air, before trying to bounce on her heels. Trying being the key word, for the moment she tries, she bounces up- and up, a slow lazy drift through the air nearly 8 feet up before wafting back down. "Wha-?" She gasps out, eyes wide. "Woah! This is so cooooolllll~!"

Darius stares, before laughing boistorously "HA! It seems that the process has worked for atleast, my dear." Darius smiles, before his face becomes more serious "Although, I had advice you to try and control it my dear. I assume you can control this ability if you exercise your wil, it is best to practive, especialy with one that seems as powerful as yours." Darius shrugs "Mine seems to more physical, not I am complaning, it has been long since there has been vigor in these bones." Darius straightens and salutes them "Darius Marlow, proud veteran of the Feistian army." Darius' form relaxes again before saying "Now, I didn't catch your names before, as I was still asleep." Darius feels a rubbing at his feet (his good side) as he bows down a little (bending down would put to much strain on his knee) and scratches Typhon behind one of his antlers "and this little devil is Typhon."

Jericho grunts and gives out a curt "Jericho Rushmoore", and then goes back to sullen silence in the hopes that his mouth doesn't get taken over again.

"Why hello my good fellows. Gentlemen, gentlewomen. I am a little surprised that I am involved in such an interest debacle such as this." He speaks to Jericho and the others nearby. "I don't mean to interrupt anyone, but I suddenly feel compelled to exclaim my surprise at all of this experimentation."

Darius bows his head towards the young man "Greetings good sir, my name is Darius marlow, Although I did not catch yours." Darius chuckles "Also, I hope you and floating lady realise this whole experiment was to put elder gods in our brains. Odd compulsions and new found Abilities should be expected. I myself experienced more vigor and this wreck of a body should." There was No venom in the old mans voice, just pride He made it this far in the path of live. Most soldiers don't grow grey.

After taking some food and vicariously enjoying it, Remi exits the break room to see what the other subjects are doing or if any are dead. Plus, that snake tongue freaked him out a little bit more than normal. He sees the newcomers and greets them with a neutral "Hello."

Mina is thinking rather seriously about the possible uses of her power--aside from the obvious teeth and claws, that is. Test of character: become a stray cat and see who kicks it. Spying: flatten up against a wall and turn the color of the wallpaper. Can she meld wounds shut? Can she grow gills? Does she even need air for anything but speaking?

After several minutes of holding her breath without feeling anything she grins and starts turning her fingers into useful items. Corkscrew! Hammer! Dagger! Skeleton (heh) key! She tries a pistol, but she can't make the bullets without hurting herself, and she doesn't know how to make a proper firing pin or barrel anyway. Perhaps once she's read up on it some more?

Darius smiles Again, more strained this time "I think we spoke before the experiment -The Lawyer, Yes?- Although I do not recall your name... No matter, the name is Darius marlow and my animalistic companion here is Typhon." Darius says, walking to the lawyer and extending a hand, the other resting on his cane.

"Pleasure to meet you, Darius." He shakes the older man's hand. "There's some food in the break room, if you're hungry after the procedure."

Darius smiles and shakes the lawyers hand -a bit to hard- "Charmed, although again, I did not catch your name sir. Also, thank you for the tip, Typhon seems to have gotten a bit famished" My companion slightly hopping, making an odd noise in its throat.

As Darius enters the breakroom he spot the oddly familiar girl again. As Darius takes something to eat and give something to Typhon (bacon and some carrots) Darius turns to the girl again. 'Where have I seen her...before...'Darius thought. Darius eyes widen as he walks towards the girl "Hey, I remember you! I have seen you at quite some riots and protests as a speaker! Did not expect to see you in a casual situation, wel, as much as this is casual." Darius chuckles before growing more serious "Although I wonder what you are doing here, last time I checked you were aligned with the order, they don't tend to want to help the established leadership." The last part carries some bitterness. This country is supposed to be chosen by the people, but Darius is long aware that it is a sham. It saddens him, how much the corruption has spread in his beloved country.

She bristles at first, then notices the sorrow in Darius's tone and decides on a half-truth. "It won't matter much who's in charge if the world ends, now will it?

"I've seen you in police uniform. You tried to stop the rabid cops, though, which is a plus."
