Halkegenia Online Thread 22 - Kill Sheffield Vol. 2

STOP RIGHT THERE FORUMITE.

I know it looks bad, but you can basically ignore Vaermina's posts about what should happen, because he's not the one writing the story.

It'd save a lot of time and energy from writing out responses to his arguments. Because they're not worth getting hot and sweaty over.

Unfortunately, that is not a better topic. Trust me.

Okay... umm... any ideas for a new TRIST project? No that's a disaster waiting to happen... hmmm... So what do you think Puca magic can do? Just as bad if not worse... Alright, I got nothin'. Anyone got any ideas?

@Triggerhappy are you gonna give us any hints on what Sheffield has been up doing while Reconquista is getting ready to invade? Pretty please? We need a change in topic.

She should still be back in Saxe-Gotha telling Dunwell her story of what happened, getting sniped at by Scirroco, and making sure Willheim doesn't cause trouble spreading about what he learned.

After that she'll be locked down in the Londinium palace placing orders to have some of Gallia's more exotic weapons shipped over, and working on making that air cannon work without the Heel Stone.

In fact, I've been wondering if since Octavia's Abyssal form was a sort of living organism rather than just an illusion if it wasn't closer to a giant organic mecha with the real Octavia buried someplace deep inside. In which case, like I've said earlier, Octavia has no right to be complain if, as a Queen, she was stripped of her Royal Vestments when she was made a prisoner. It shouldn't matter if those vestments are a living mermaid goddess body, they're gonna get stripped.

Great, I'm now imagining her as somehow double titaning. Once to get the human sized body, and then again to get up to Abyssal Queen.

No, no. Those are fine, we're going to get something like the current argument no matter what but those topics would be a bit calmer less stupid. Probably.

I'm thinking more of this part:
Th14 p017 - Sheffield's daughters -Triggerhappy :o

Hey, anyone else notice that we have had 38 pages of commets since last chapter? There has only been like 4 shorts/omakes in that time as well.

Not that i am complaining, but we are going to see 100 threads with only 20 chapters if we keep this up.

New topic 1: how many void spells did the chruch record over the past 6000 years?

New topic 2: When we do introduce Cattleya what will her illness be? Since we discussed earlier that her canon illness made no sense.

EDIT: New topic 3: What does Karin think of her new sword and how well does it compare to her old one.

I think there's a book written by Brimir, though with the way HalO portrays Void users, it's likely to record how HE could use every Void spell, while the 4 that inherited the fragments can only used a more specific category of spells and not others.

Cattleya suffers from what is known as terminal moe. It's a dangerous illness that is frequently spread about in works of fiction, commonly by careless authors who don't wear protection by doing too much research into any real illnesses. Though documented in numerous bodies of works, it's range of carriers is a highly targeted pool of character types. Sweet, gentle, good looking, and sympathetic young girls are the most susceptible to contract it.

For best chances of treatment, contact a local fanfiction writer.

Just checked at FF.net. A startling number of people seem to think that Shiori lost 2/3rds of herself.

I vote for a whole new disease with maybe a mixture of others to base it off of, and establish a Halk/Fae medical research organization upon realizing there are diseases that neither know everything about.

Also, I can't be the only one who wants Cattleya to meet the Sleeping Knights...

Yeah, a few minor differences and words/sentences missing between the version on ff.net and the snip here, including the bit wear it's made more clear Dagger got Mahou out of the flames and into the air.

You're thinking of the Founders Journal.

Also can we not get into the "Void Fragment" argument again please?

It's been done to death.

Sheffield mumbling : "Kill Faeries must kill Faeries must kills Faeries before they come eat me . . ." Continues hammering together ancient magical artifacts with two by fours and a wrench.

Great, I'm now imagining her as somehow double titaning. Once to get the human sized body, and then again to get up to Abyssal Queen.

Funnily I was thinking something similar crossed with Envy getting his body back in FMA. Lots of cackling glee and a giant euphoric power rush as the Abyssal Queen begins to regrow all around her and she sort of squirms back into her titan sized form while unlimbering all of her old powers in delight.

Come to think of it, living as an Apex hyper predator might also explain a bit about Octavia's personality, or differences between the two showings so far. She's a prideful little shrimp to begin with, she needed to be to endure and survive as such a small and weak creature, but wearing the Abyssal Queen or sleeved into her Not!Asuna form she's innately going to be far more secure, confident, and aggressive and backed by enough power at her weakest to match top Faerie mages (while seemingly not needing to chant to use her magic).

Octavia might turn out friendly, but I would expect she'll remain haughty and prideful. And probably continue to tease Asuna about Kirito.

Edit: Or god forbid she sees Kirito go full Gleam Eyes.

<<Asuna waved a hand before her mermaid doppelganger, Octavia seeming not at all aware as her jaw hung slack. The battle between Kirito and the Jotun had stolen away her voice it seemed, and left her senseless. And if they stay out in the open like this it was going to do a lot more than that.

Just as Asuna thought these words, Kirito brought his great sword down in a sweep that cleaved the Giant from shoulder to hip, only bringing the monumental weapon to stop by supreme force of will as every muscle in his frost matted torso trembled.

"Octavia!" Asuna grabbed the foolish girl as ice chunks the size of bolders fell around them. "We have to get out of here, Kirito-kun is . . ."

"Kirito-kun?" Octavia asked distantly. "That's Kirito-kun"

"Yes that's Kirito-kun!" Asuna explained quickly. "He's fighting so that we can get away . . . Octavia?!"

The mermaid was pinching her cheeks as she looked up starry eyed. "Yggdrasil-sama! He's gorgeous!">>

Just a thought, here. Given Octavia was in her Abyssal Queen form during the Transition, she's never had to 'cold start' the crown, and might not have the memories of doing so. Also the lore might hold that it was Titania who provided the power for the cold start and the seeming permanence of the crown's enchantments. Now that it's been removed things might be a little more difficult than simply handing the crown over...

If they need Titania to start the Crown they are in big trouble, given she isn't around.

There's no reason to believe this is necessary. Solomon is able to use his treasure just fine without a kickstart and he certainly wasn't active during the Transition either.

That's actually an interesting question - we know Asuna isn't technically Titania but what about Capability wise?

Considering Titania and Oberon would have been verging on gods I'd say no. Lore seems to have the ability to fill in game mechanics, but doesn't seem to override them completely.

Asuna's stats and racial affinities were very explicitly laid out in the Transition without room for much of a lore override, so that's what she's got.
