A Forest Fight


"For the Lily Throne!" echoed from a set of loudspeakers across the battlefield, a desolate waste of what used to be forest as an E-flat bedecked in heraldry slammed through a mobile worker and into a copse of trees past the now flattened machine. The mech went through multiple trees even as it dodged return fire from an artillery piece and the crushed mobile worker's squadron mates. An unfortunate godist infantry woman was crushed without notice as the mech's pilot focused on the active threats.

Behind the E-flat two B-types followed after, their large machine guns rattling throatedly as rounds glanced off the mobile workers' rough armor and left puffs of dirt flying into the air just short of the artillery piece. The mobile workers responding with their own jury-rigged weapons, the ripping roar of the Godist league's native mech machine gun contrasting to the Lily's slower rhythm. The mobile workers wouldn't have had much of a chance once the E-flat turned around if another squadron of Mobile workers didn't crest the nearby hill, the roar of their guns joining their brethren as sparks flew off of mobile suit armor. The weight of numbers making a threat of the smaller machines.

The two sides began to dance around each other, the mobile workers trying to get enough guns focused on joints or head sensors to weaken the mechs enough to go for a kill while also trying to dance around the more deadly return fire of the Lily suits. The E-flat weaving around mobile workers as it's deadly payload savaged one of the more aggressive godist pilots, crumpling the worker's legs like tinfoil while the smaller suits plinked away. At the same time to the side where the E-flat's subordinate B-types duked it out the fighting was more balanced, another worker crumpled with heavily dented armor while one of the B-types had an arm joint that was giving off a worrying crunch as it shifted and moved. The Lilian pilot's aim being thrown off as the arm twitches and shakes.

It was as the E-flat pilot moved to keep the mobile workers she was fighting in the way of their fellows' guns that the artillery piece crew found that discretion was the better part of valor, firing one last shot at the uninjured B-type, taking off part of the mech's antenna in a lucky hit, and booking it back towards the Godist infantry line. The artillery shot distracted the B-type pilot long enough for a brave, or more likely suicidal, mobile worker to pull a particularly insane move. The worker pilot noticed the B-type turning towards the artillery to respond to the shot and rushed forward to take advantage. Getting within fifty meters of the taller suit the worker leaped, bodily crashing into the B-types head with its foot even as the surprised Lily Pilot brought her arm up to crunch into the worker's hips. Even with the surprise factor the suit's tight swing ruined the Mobile Worker, but not before being knocked onto its back and trapped under the bulk of the worker.

The other godists took advantage of their fellow's sacrifice instantly, leaping to swarm the still-standing B-type and forcing it to dance back toward its leader. However, the Lily pilot's own professional experience shone through as he put down another mobile worker on the retreat. While the E-flat raced forward and kicked one of its own opponents, killing the pilot instantly.

By the time the B-type arrived at its ally's side, its joint armor was almost entirely ruined while one of its legs was also crunching worriedly. But the E-flat was still going strong, and now the weakened mobile worker squadrons knew that it wasn't worth the fight to continue, pulling back even as they kept firing. The godists having taken enough casualties that they were forced to leave the battlefield and back to the stronger infantry lines that held the bulk of the artillery and additional mobile workers. But though they might have had to retreat they did their damage, it would take time and money to repair the two B-types and the Kingdom had those than the Godist's workers.
 
Down Among the Roots

The smoking husk of the final security robot crashed to the ground, leaving an eerie silence in its wake. The Rapid Deployment Force troopers, elite marines handpicked from veterans of the Panama and Korea landings, spread out into the control room, high-powered flashlights illuminating black monitors and dust-covered keyboards.

The RDF commander, Francisco Asuka, took a few more moments to confirm the absence of traps, then radioed back to the support contingent. "It's all clear. Send in the scientists."



Later that evening, Commander Asuka lounged idly in an old dusted-off swivel chair, watching as a dozen of the Pacific Federation's best technicians oohed and aahed over their findings. The central monitor projected the baleful logo of Twisted Tree out into the now harshly lit room, but the secondary screens were full of what was apparently fascinating data - if it could be decrypted.

For his part, the excitement was all over. The other research team was climbing all over the machines from the attached Mobile Suit vault, but that was MS Corps business, and the absence of any novel small arms or artillery neatly excluded his own area of expertise. Those super beam cannons looked pretty impressive, though.

Finding himself bored playing babysitter, Asuka spun around a couple times in his chair, then glanced down beneath the burnt-out console he was parked in front of. Half-buried under a debris pile was a slim tablet of ancient make, with an odd logo etched into the back. With a shrug, Asuka extracted the tablet, then set it down on the central table. "Hey, Doc, think I found somethi--"

At once, the Twisted Tree insignia on the central monitor shifted and extended, the tree's roots growing down into a grinning skull that emerged from the 'shadows.' After a moment to boot up, the screen began popping up window after window, with lists of names and numbers, culminating in a diagram that put the Singapore space elevator at the center of a far-flung distribution network.

The scientists rushed him en masse, somehow displacing his body-armored bulk with their own scrawny frames, and he found himself shunted back toward the door with all manner of admonitions and grief. The last glimpse he saw of the tablet was its own screen flashing to life, apparently as a consequence of being put on a wireless recharging station. Three words burned white on a black background: "PROJECT DEATH FORCE".
 

MORALIAN BROADCAST TO ALL EARTHIANS


The broadcast opens on a familiar setting and a familiar face. Ikuko's smile is serene and utterly calm in contrast with the deep scowl of the uniformed old man beside her. A face set in perpetual grimace with the marks of age to accompany, giving him a rugged ancient look underneath an admiral's cap bearing the insignia of the Moralian Sphere. He also has a very long mustache and beard.

IKUKO: It has truly been an eventful past few months. From the Antarctic Cradle to the Perfect City; from Ruined Juno Fort in Hispaniola to the Palaces of Seoul, Moralia has fully stepped into the World Stage. Moralia's Best and Brightest in the art of war serve ably at all of our clients side and hopefully to their satisfaction.

IKUKO: In Victory or Defeat, Advance or Retreat; Moralian Pilots and Soldiers will fight, and as can be seen in Siberia and Europe, die at our clients' side. Worry not though, It remains the Golden Fantasia's policy to reinforce our Mercenary Corps to the best of our abilities, so do not expect any downgrades in the numbers and strengths of our forces in the Jaeger Corps at least.

The Second Treaty of Singapore

I. Preamble

1. This is a comprehensive treaty of union between the Federation of Pacific Islands (henceforth "the Federation") on one hand and the Applegate Teamsters Orbital 78 (henceforth "Applegate") on the other.

2. The terms of this treaty supersede all prior agreements, treaties, compacts, and arrangements, except where otherwise noted.

II. Political Union

1. Applegate will, upon popular ratification of this treaty by both parties, formally accede to membership within the Federation.

2. The joint entity shall henceforth be known as "the United Federation of Islands". It shall inherit, assume, and take stewardship over all debts, assets, responsibilities, and commitments of the two prior entities.

3. Applegate will assume the status of an Autonomous Space Island within the Federation. For the purposes of cultural and linguistic autonomy, Applegate will be classified as a Constituent Nation. Additional economic, scientific, and other forms of autonomy will be reserved to Applegate via its status as an Autonomous Entity and a Space Island.

4. A Ministry of Spacian Affairs, with its ministerial officials democratically selected by the Federation's Spacian population, will be established within the Executive Cabinet.

5. Foreign policy will devolve to the Federation's Ministry of External Relations, in consultation with a dedicated liaison from the Ministry of Spacian Affairs.

6. Applegate will assume full representation in the Federal Assembly, in accordance with its local democratic traditions, in addition to maintaining its own internal governance.

7. Continued efforts will be made to harmonize Federation governance with Applegate governance.

III. Military Reform

1. The Applegate Teamsters' military forces will be reorganized into Autonomous Federal Space Task Force 78 and its chain of command will remain unchanged.

2. There will be a general exchange of liaison officers between AFSTF 78 and the United Federal Forces.

IV. Economic Reform

1. Continued efforts will be made to harmonize the Federation economy with the Applegate economy.

2. Sufficient safeguards and checks will be implemented so as to ensure a positive exchange and a beneficial union between both economic sectors.

3. Transfers of technology and resources between the two economic sectors will be conducted on a basis of mutual benefit and equal exchange.

V. Citizenship

1. All former citizens of the Federation and Applegate will possess full citizenship within the United Federation of Islands.

2. For the first five years of this treaty, migration controls will be implemented to prevent wholesale relocation or otherwise disruptive trends in either direction.

VI. The Future

1. Should any term or condition of this treaty require modification, it may enter into force upon mutual ratification by both parties.

2. Should any other nation or sovereign entity seek to accede to the United Federation of Islands, their accession must be ratified by popular referendum, and may not infringe upon or otherwise negate the terms of this treaty or subsequent legislation on the subject.

CanMexican Mobile Suits at a Glance, 1002 AC


The year 1001 AC was a tumultuous one for all of Earth, but for only a few nations more so than the ones embroiled in the Amazon Conflict for most of the year. The conflict saw attention and investment from countries all around, and above, the Earth, with the chains of alliances drawing in the Holy League and their opponents, the Oceans, Rivers, and Seas Alliance, along with direct intervention from spacian powers like the Seraphim, the Astarte, and Applegate Station (now the Autonomous Space Island of Applegate within the United Federation of Islands) and military investment from powers as disparate as the Alpine Imperate and the People's Cities of Pallas. In this cauldron of conflict and technological arms race, massive social and military upheavals were inevitable, and the Divine Monarchy of CanMexico was no exception, at least in the latter case. From an already large army of around a hundred divisions and not quite half and again that number of mobile suits, the massive uptick in salvage and military investment common to the world in 1001 AC leaves CanMexico at the start of the next year with a mobilized army over five times its previous size even after accounting for losses in the Amazon jungle and, more importantly for the subject of this report, a fully independent Royal Mobile Suit Corps consisting of, at the time of writing, 571 machines, as well as a handful of naval mobile suits and a much smaller but higher tech Royal Space Force dedicated to exploration of Earth's orbital debris. The following is an overview of the materiel and organization of the Royal Mobile Suit Corps and the other mobile suits used by the other branches of the Divine Monarchy's armed forces, as of the start of 1002 AC, with the war in the Americas over and much of the materiel deployed overseas to the ongoing conflict in Siberia.

Royal Mobile Suit Corps

B-Type "Borjanon"
Low End Mass Production, Ancient Generation, General Purpose Mobile Suit

With much of CanMexico's vaunted force of domestically-assembled B-type "Zodiacs" suffering attrition at the hands of OSRA, the Seraphim, and the nature of jungle fighting at Earth's equator, and her ally Jaburo in similar straits, the combined American Empires United Governments military placed a massive order for B-types produced by the Alpine Imperate - one supposedly granted at a steep discount after bellicose expressions of frustration by CanMexican diplomats over the Alpines supplying a similar number of suits to their enemies in Amazonia. The collapse of the war effort in Amazonia and the fraught political situation in Jaburo meant that the full 200 were placed in trust of CanMexico. Now once again the most numerous weapon in the Royal Mobile Suits Corps' arsenal, the machine gun-equipped B-type remains the baseline against which all other Earthian mobile suits are judged, although with the CanMexican high command's assessment of B-type performance in Amazonia, it's quite likely that the 20 or so squadrons of Borjanons recently formed will see use as garrison and security forces, or as testbeds for potential refits, before they see serious frontline combat.

B-Sharp "Zodiac II"

The domestic CanMexican B-type is, however, not extinct, even if it's now outnumbered by an imported species. In the last months of 1001, during the lull between the Treaty of Macapá and the OSRA invasion of Korea, the CanMexican armed forces underwent a crash refit program of their remaining B-types, as well as the salvage builds slated for construction, with modern, Spacian-inspired avionics, power supplies, and beam weaponry. The "Zodiac II program" turned the remains of CanMexico's B-types into ten squadrons (roughly equal to their total number at the start of the war) of far more modernized mobile weapons built upon the same frame. Described as the new generation of general purpose mobile suit for the RMSC, the B-sharp model is designed specifically to stand on even footing with Spacian Type-1s, as part of CanMexico's pivot to a diplomatic stance of opposing "Seraphim imperialism" as well as the rise of left-wing polities on Earth.

D-type

The first mobile suit on this list to be purely salvage among the RMSC, but certainly not the last, 111 D-types were the legacy of a major archaeological find within the North American Fallow Zone, also known as the Land of the Eagles. Suspected to be of 11 Month War vintage with only minimal refits, the D-type is an example of a mobile suit that cannot fly, but uses a ground-effect hover system for rapid movement overland, which archaeologists suspect was a useful adaptation for conflicts fought on the massive prairies of what is now the NAFZ or western Canada. Equipped with large rocket-propelled grenades and more sophisticated melee weaponry than B-types, the D forms the core of mobile suits designed for land combat within the RMSC.

F-Type
Mass Production, Ancient Generation, Flight-type Mobile Suit

Purchased from Lunari salvage through their Fallow Zone treaties, CanMexican F-types have not yet seen deployment, though the obvious hope of a specialist craft of this type is to counter the more modern spaceplans in use by OSRA forces. The two squadrons salvaged and purchased are likely to not be decisive factors in the air war, but anonymous CanMexican sources are quite certain that they will provide valuable combat data as the "air war" continues to accelerate rapidly in the power of weapons involved.

E-Flat Ground

Two squadrons of this variant made their way from CanMexican salvage sites to the front lines during the last months of the Amazonian Conflict, classed as an E-flat Ground-type variant due to their resemblance to the E-Flat designs used elsewhere in the world and the presence of full-power beam weapons that the D and BB Ground-types lacked. While only used in limited fashion due to small numbers, Ground-type effectiveness under jungle cover became apparent, at least for the moment until they fight a more specialized Jungle type.

Another specialized 11 Month War design for ground combat, two squadrons' worth of this machine were found during the Amazonian Conflict and immediately pressed into service on the front lines as some of CanMex's first limited-production salvage. While lacking in sophisticated equipment, many CanMexican pilots fancying themselves prospective aces came to appreciate the mobile weapon's aesthetics and focus on weaponry suited to engaging other mobile suits in melee duels, like a powerful heat sword and entangling cables. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your perspective, most OSRA mobile suits were perfectly capable of flight, and despite unsubstantiated claims of one CanMexican pilot using his BB Ground's grappling hook to brachiate between multiple enemy Type 10s like a monkey, BB Grounds had few opportunities to engage in such knightly pursuits. This did, however, result in them being one of the few CanMexican mobile suit types with a 100% survival rate in 1001 AC.

E-Minor "Sidereal II"
Mass Production, Modern Generation, General Purpose Mobile Suit

The "Zodiac II Project" that resulted in the Spacian refits for CanMexico's B-types also produced results among its higher-tier units, the E-flat model called the Sidereal. The nomenclature of this rebuilt weapons format has been under some dispute given archaeological finds of E-type variants, with the official model type name being internationally agreed upon as "E-Minor Sharp Rebuild" for now. After the failure of the invasion of Belém, and the concurrent lack of performance against Spacian Type-2s, the remaining cadre of CanMexican E-flat "Sidereals" and reinforcements purchased from the Alpines were upgraded with Spacian weaponry and avionics to bridge the gap. The early E-Minors were quite successful during Operation Witch Hunt, but continued testing at RMSC proving grounds has indicated that the B-sharp is nearly the E-Minor's equal, leaving the future of this weapons system uncertain as the RMSC attempts (perhaps vainly) to standardize its reconstructed models.

E-Type "Solar"
Limited Production, Ancient Generation, General Purpose Mobile Suit

The pride and joy of the CanMexican armed forces prior to 1001 AC were a quartet of powerful limited production mobile suits originally scavenged from a facility in Canada's western forests: the E-types codenamed "Solar", which served as Ace-use suits to lead squadrons of E-flats due to their rarity. Two were present at the invasion of Belém and barely retreated intact. The other two were destroyed in the heavy fighting over Bolivia and Western Amazonia while the others were being repaired. A truly vanishing breed, the remaining pair have been restored to their previous squadrons and pilots, but it remains to be seen whether this venerable (and prior to Spacian manufacturing intervention, irreplaceable) high-performance model will continue to see use in the RMSC.

GS-Type and GS-Type MMI
High End Limited Production, Ancient Generation, Flight-use (Transformable) Mobile Suit

One of the most advanced weapons in the RMSC arsenal came from the salvage efforts not of CanMex themselves, but Pallasi researchers working under the supervision CanMexican and Cult-affiliated priest-archaeologists to secure and exorcize the Montauk facility on the east coast of the Land of the Eagles. One of the military finds there was a new type of pre-Cataclysm transforming mobile suit, dubbed the GS-Type. A total of 25 were found, 19 of which had obvious post-manufacture updates to add in previously unheard-of (to Earthians) cybernetic "man-machine interface" technology. The exact details of the mechanisms are still being studied, with the help of ZOLON cybernetic clinics, but performance-testing has so far given the RMSC hope of competing with or even exceeding the much-feared OSRA T-Type designs.

E-Type Narwhal
High End Limited Production, Modern Generation, Esoteric Mobile Suit

In the deepest vaults of a rediscovered fortress deep in the center-west of the North American Fallow Zone, 13 mobile suits were found. 12 of them were dubbed "Narwhals" for their distinctive head spikes and have so far seen only limited deployment, being spotted at the periphery of the operation to contain the outbreak of auto-weapons from the "Perfect City" in the Ural mountains. The best understanding of these machines is that they use powerful sensors to perform EWACS and command and control functions, while also having superior maneuverability and firepower compared to a normal E-type. There is significant and spirited debate in CanMexican strategic planning whether to keep these weapons as a coherent squadron or spread them out as specialist units within other formations, with the side for concentration mainly arguing that they serve as excellent cohesive support for the thirteenth mobile suit...

A-Minor Full Armor "Sedna"
Unique, Modern Generation, Armor/Assault Mobile Suit

CanMexico's first "A-type", retrieved from the same vault as the Narwhals and the ideal subject for their support. The Full Armor A-Minor, codenamed "Sedna" after an ancient Arctic goddess, appears to be based on a similar frame to the infamous Nemesis, the A-Minor utilized personally by Evangelista Qasvah Jaburo during the latter stages of the Amazonian Conflict, but with the relatively small mobile suit frame covered in additional armor and heavy artillery, upgunning it to a level that, the Divine Monarchy hopes, can compete even with the United Federation's full A-type. Piloted by its discoverer, an anonymous CanMexican black ops agent whose codename appears to be "Null", it was spotted in Siberia in December along with the Narwhals. While it has not been deployed in a pitched battle yet, it is apparent that with the war still ongoing, this is CanMexico's best hope at preventing a repeat of the disastrous Ride of Santacruz that brought an end to Monarchist ambitions of crushing the Pacific revolution fifty years ago.

Royal CanMexican Army

0-Type "Long Face Walker"
Low End Mass Production, Ancient Generation, General Purpose Fighting Vehicle

Numerous caches of these machines have been found in South American archaeological sites, including by CanMexico. The design and sheer antiquity of their systems have led to scholarly debate about whether they constitute mobile suits at all, rather than legged armored fighting vehicles, but in any case in a strategic sense, the remaining post-Amazonian Conflict units have remained part of the Royal Army, rather than the Mobile Suit Corps, supplementing CanMexico's Armoured Divisions, which they do with aplomb as essentially walking platforms for machineguns and recoilless cannons.

Royal CanMexican Navy

K-Sharp "Cangrejo"
Mass Production, Modern Generation, Aquatic/Amphibious Mobile Suit

The one mobile suit type designated specifically for use by the CanMexican Royal Navy, the "K-Sharp" is an entirely homegrown design by CanMexico, built from salvaged materials based on blueprints and tactical observations of Algerian K-Types in the Amazonian Conflict. Only 10 experimental units have been built so far, but testing has demonstrated a remarkably fearsome power within the admittedly limited niche of aquatic ambush units. Presumably, more of these units will be constructed to support CanMexico's much delayed Mobile Suit Carrier plan once it reaches fruition.

Royal Space Force

Space-Type
Mass Production, Modern Generation, Space-use Mobile Suit

Purchased through their contracts with Pallas, CanMexico's Royal Space Force is tiny, but possesses top-of-the-line mass-production mobile suits for purpose. The first fully Spacian-design mobile suit in CanMexico's arsenal, the pilots for these units are also some of the first CanMexicans in orbit in an official capacity. Even if they thus far haven't seen combat, the Royal Space Force is equipped to defend CanMexico's small space holdings and continue exploration in safety, at least for now.

Future Prospects

If the year 1001 made anything apparent, it's that it is impossible to truly predict the future of warfare. New contacts with Spacian powers and new salvage of pre-Cataclysm ruins shred the status quo on an almost daily basis. One thing that is clear, however, is that the Divine Monarchy of CanMexico is intent on continuing to develop and diversify the mobile suits used in their military, with newly salvaged Type-1 mobile suits already being refurbished to be put to use by the Royal Space Force. More important to the trend of the future is CanMexico's clear attempts to move away from their previous reliance on salvage and imports, with at least three and likely several more Spacian-style mobile suit factories under construction. The assembly lines making the beam weapons for the Sharp upgrade will soon be converging into full Type-1 models using Lunari designs, and the ongoing partnership with Pallas was proud to announce a GS-type plant being constructed in the Mexican wilderness just last month. With modern, industrial supply lines in place, CanMexico clearly hopes to maintain its dominant military position in North America and remain a strong competitor to the Spacian and revolutionary powers it considers its rivals on the world stage.

Belém, the grounds of Forte do Presépio. The hulk of the fortress bearing the scars of energy weapon fire and heavy ship-board artillery towers over the grounds inside of its walls. Disarmed and green from grass and flowers, it is draped in the tricolore of the Amazon with garlands of flowers hanging from its silent turrets and concrete bunkers. Its walls bleached, it rests in peace like the skeleton of a giant primordial beast. But today its interior is crowded, the mass of people in uniform, in their sunday clothes, in the somber black of grief has gathered before rows upon rows of coffins, some brought home from distant shores, others from the jungles and rivers of their own country. Children are crying and relatives are standing numbly, as brightly uniformed soldiers drape flag after flag over them, calling out names and deeds, friends and memories as the ceremony stretches on and on with comrades and friends joining their grief together.

It takes hours and the day is far too lovely with its weather bright and a fresh breeze slipping in from the sea. But even as the sun twinkles brightly and the clouds are soft and fluffy, silence spreads over the occasion and the Senior-Professor Neves took to a podium, surrounded by the complete government circle.




"...we have received from our forebears a free and just state. They are worthy of praise even on this day, as they gave us an inheritance of peace, equality and freedom to which all that came after have added stone by stone to this mighty republic. And as we assemble ourselves today, we who have carried this great work further, have richly endowed our state with our ideas, our strength and the vigor which we could give to this great cause in times of peace and war. But before I praise the dead, I want to point out for which principles and for which ideals they have given their lives. For which institutions and which way of life they have protected and furthered till they took their last breath in the jungles of our home and the icy mountains of Siberia. For to remember them merely as dead or venerate them merely on the basis of their death being praiseworthy would be unsuited to this occasion in our proud republic."



A bourgeois flat, enameled pots stand in a row with porcelain dolls, the clean lines are white and stark, a young man supports his father as Eliana gets her 'Fred' a small handkerchief, averting her eyes as her husband can't keep in the tears. An elegant urns draped in the tricolore is all that remains of their oldest, the small table holding it covered in images of a family at war: uniforms and hospitals, comrades and friends, bright girls in distant Korea, another beloved son posing before his mobile suit and finally the one who stayed home before a factory that has taken to exchanging artful furniture for printed guns and munitions.

The fine order of things, the peace and wealth that encapsulated them, framing the simple and industrial design of the electronic radio with the apple stamped on it. An stark outsider to the taste of the family, it now connects them to the wider world - a wider struggle that beacons just as surely as the sergeant uniform in Friedrichs wardrobe.




"Our form of government does not merely copy our neighbors, but is an example to all of them. It is true that we are called a democracy, for the administration is in the hands of the many and not of the few anymore. But while there exists equal justice to all and alike in their private disputes, the claim of excellence is also recognized; and when a citizen is in any way distinguished, they are preferred to the public service and our universities, not as a matter of privilege, but as the reward of merit. The Captain stands on foreign shores, a strange machine and stranger orders still holding her attention even as the boy in which she saw a son dove into the waves to the laughter of his comrades, young Soraia trying to read even as Renan dove after Martin, the two boys at heart no matter the death and the flames that caressed their cockpits. But even these short moments of levity were broken when the radio came to life and the somber tune was replaced by a somber voice. Activity halted, eyes turned towards the small radio and silence enveloped them once again…

Danara Tserenov was a Siberian nobleman, political dissident, and anti-spacenoid. Born from a middling house little after the Great War ended, he studied at the Imperial University of Kryma-Yemets[1]​ and became a minor contributor to various newspapers, before publishing the pro-constitutionalist article Ours versus Theirs: Sovereign[2]​, and being exiled. He completed a tour of Europe and Africa before settling in the League of Free Cities, where he lived off the rents of his unseized Siberian properties.

A figure of little renown, he achieved a claim to fame upon the opening of Earth-Space relations, when his writings took on a frenetic pace and began to be read worldwide. The main thrust of Danara's views on the spacenoid powers[3]​ was negative, viewing them as poisonous influences with rapacious appetites for Earth's conquest.

He reserved a great deal of bile for the countries that most aligned themselves to them, but held a pragmatic consideration. In Danara's view, there were three categories of spacenoids: nations, mercenaries, and the Seraphim. The first made up the vast majority of all spacers, such as Luna, Zolon, Anlscar, and Applegate. Characterised by national feeling and realpolitic ambitions, they had to be treated as normal nations with a stronger position were. The mercenaries, namely Astarte and Moralia, simply wanted to take everything they could plunder from Earth and space both, and had to be opposed instead of played with. The Seraphim did not want conquest but hegemony, and could be counted upon to be patient, to play with their food.

Tserenov believed, and published many articles in a diversity of papers stating that the "spacenoid nations" intended to annex Earth and turn the peoples of it into third-class subjects. Their ambitions, he argued, were only kept in check by the Seraphim. With both soft and hard power, they were pressuring and manipulating the nations into taking a much slower approach, into trying to buy out and influence the governments of Earth. They could even use reverse psychology on space for their purposes.

As such, for Danara, the Seraphim were a positive agent for earthers. They provided time to modernize and react. They allowed for the entrance of space technology into the cradle in a non-colonial manner that strengthened Earth against possible space aggression. The creation of puppet states was viewed as a lesser evil than conquest, a war of united space against divided earth that he feared.

Despite this, Danara Tserenov hated the Seraphim. A straight man himself[4]​, he held the opinion that only vetted homosexual men could be allowed to maintain contact with the Seraphim. Heterosexual women could also be considered for this role, but were under greater suspicion due to the possibility of being clones themselves. He advocated the near-complete disenfranchisement of homosexual women[5]​, and their barring from all positions of authority, lest the governments of Earth permit Seraphim spies in their ranks.

He himself boasted that he never went anywhere without a bomb vest in case a clone woman thought to control him. Censored on and off by the Siberian, and other, governments, Danara had become a known literati on the topic of spacer diplomacy, politics, and influence, being cited often both in favour and against. Having been forced to flee the League of Free Cities with its revolution, he had resettled in the Balearics.

His body was found decapitated in his villa soon after the year 1002 began, the bomb vest deactivated. Security footage only showed the entrance of a woman wearing a maid suit and two men.

When we were approached by the Free Republic of Egypt-Arabia at the start of this project we were humbled beyond belief. Egypt has long been one of our most treasured allies, a trustworthy and resilient nation that we are proud to share this coast with. Trans-Andean Reconstruction Authority Establishing Charter​

  1. The Trans-Andean Reconstruction Authority (henceforth TARA) is established for the purposes of rebuilding and expanding industry and infrastructure within the Principality of Bolivia, by mutual agreement between the Principality of Bolivia and Anlscar Orbital.
    1. Through means of the TARA, Anlscar Orbital pledges to dedicate resources to the reconstruction of war damages within the principality of Bolivia, as well as the general improvement of Bolivian industry, infrastructure, and defensive readiness.

    3. TARA as jointly administered has sole discretion on the planning and implementation of reconstruction, under the overriding mandate of benefiting the Principality of Bolivia, and the restriction of any international treaties to which either Anlscar or Bolivia are signatories.
    4. For purposes of labor, TARA pledges to abide by the strictest relevant labor laws in either the Principality of Bolivia or Anlscar Orbital. The Principality of Bolivia agrees to provide work visas for all duly vetted and hired Anlscar nationals employed by TARA, and TARA pledges to make no distinction of national origin in pay, benefits, or hiring decisions.
  2. Anlscar Orbital pledges to guarantee the military security of the Principality of Bolivia until such a time as this treaty expires or is invalidated.
  3. The Principality of Bolivia agrees to coordinate scientific research with technical advisors from TARA until such a time as at least one advancement pertinent to the reconstruction efforts are completed.
  4. This treaty and contract are valid for a period of two years (ending December 31, 1003 AC), and may be renewed at that time by consent of the Principality of Bolivia and Anlscar Orbital. Both of the above parties may dissolve TARA early by mutual consent of their governments.

CanMexican-Bolivian Treaty of Brotherhood​


In recognition of the growing difficulties of national security in the 11th century, and in deep appreciation and gratitude for the valiant efforts and tribulations of the Principality of Bolivia in the recent South American conflict. As brother monarchs, the Divine Monarch of CanMexico and the Prince of Bolivia share a united vision of their respective nations' continuity, stability, and destiny, and in the name of that shared vision, enact the following treaty of cooperation between the Divine Monarchy of CanMexico (hereafter CanMexico) and the Principality of Bolivia (hereafter Bolivia).
  1. The Crowns of CanMexico and Bolivia hereby swear a permanent full military alliance and full cooperation in all matters of war, to be organized through the existing framework of the American Empire United Governments.
    1. CanMexico pledges a permanent garrison in Bolivia, no smaller than a corps (20 brigades) in size, of soldiers of the CanMexican crown, to be deployed for the security of Bolivia specifically, under the AEUG command structure.
    2. CanMexico and Bolivia pledge to cooperate in all matters of national security and defense within both nations, including the formation of international bodies and governmental organizations as needed to implement such cooperation.
    3. Both nations pledge to uphold the national institutions of one another, and to always act in the best interests of their respective crowns.

The Mystery of the Wall of Earth

Having witnessed the despoiling of the cradle by the arms-women, the demons of the sky, and the atheist tyrants, the faithful of Apollo-Mithras and its associated churches have chosen to draw a red line. We, the earth nourished by the sun, wish to protect its bounties in space.

We report the formation of the Mysterium Muri Terrae, a most chivalrous and pious order, dedicated to the safeguarding of holy sites, the exploration of the world above, and the glory of god. As a holy organisation, we recognise the leadership of the Pontifex Maximus, Pater Patrum Extraordinarii above all. Our purpose is to be a bulwark in the defense of the faith and faithful in space as the Order of Leo is on Earth.

All those faithful to the church of Apollo-Mithras may seek to join this holy host. We seek shrine sargeants, laymen, ascetics and priests, and knights and armed guards for their defense. We seek zeal.

All those who would enter the mystery must accept the following precepts:
1. To unflinchingly face darkness in whatever form it takes.
2. To follow every command carried forth by the Council of Mysteries and its Grandmaster.
3. To defend the faithful no matter the sacrifice.
4. To put faith always before one's life.

An auxiliary knightly order, that of the Lion of Judah, serves alongside for those Christians who wish to defend religion.

We declare war on no nation in space, and claim no battle for our own save against barbarism and extinction.
