Goddess' Shooting Star (Black★Rock Shooter X Persona 4)

[x] [Yomi] Accept yourself.
[x] [Mato] You wake to green eyes and high arches.

Wasn't sure exactly what any of the options were, so I picked the one that sounded the most Dead Master-y

You don't need a mirror to know that you are wearing the same expression.

"It's the most fun I've ever had."
Called it. Not a hard guess mind, but still, nice to know I understand a character.

Okay so, Green Eyes is clearly Dead Master, and the QM said the third pick is a hospital, so back in the real world. Given the invistext in Yomi's Section, I don't think we want to be with Dead Master, possibly even Insane Dead Master. And we've got shit to do in the Otherworld/TV world, so no to getting hospitalized. Therefore, even though I don't know what a silver eyes or a yellow glow mean, it does still probably mean Persona stuff.

[X] [Mato] You wake to silver eyes and yellow glow.

Kinda hoping they got a heal spell, so we don't need to bother with more nosy classmates asking about bruises, but also hoping kinda not, so they'll think Mato is trouble and we can hang more with Kanji. Such trade offs.

I'm very tempted to vote for Dead Master, but I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Has anyone asked beforehand what the persona users' Otherselves would be like? Not just in 4, in 3 and 5 as well?

Their otherselves would at least partially take on traits of their shadows, but along with other things. An otherself tends to represent all of a girl's anxieties and desires, not just those she wants to keep hidden. At least personality-wise.

You could probably come up with some fun visual designs as well but for the most part otherselves -like shadows- look mostly like their originators, so it would mostly be outfits and horns and stuff.

Hmm... These seem closer to normal Shadows than normal Otherselves tbh. At least going by the anime lore.

Anime Mato was noted by her mother to have been... empty(?) after her father left(? It sounded like divorce, but idk). Or at least empty/non-reactive to anything about her dad. Otherselves in the anime outright drain the anxiety and depression from their Self.

Here it seems like Yomi and Mato both still have the associated feelings swirling in them, but they repressed them, which is more in line with a Shadow.

Unless they're only feeling those things right now because their otherself is right there I suppose.

Reminder that the OVA is the only direct Canon for the purposes of this crossover. While I borrow some of the metaphysics and setting details from the anime, anime lore is a secondary source, not a primary one.

Going 'numb' as a response to grief doesn't mean it isn't being felt, it just means that the person has no idea how to process it.

But other than that... I see some interesting observations...

Close contact and commonality with their otherselves is definitely playing a part in some things.

Well yes, that's why I keep pointing out the info is from the anime.

And also the anime is the only real relevant source of lore/"how dis work?" that we have available.

Unless they're secretly infovores, which include things like DNA and Memories being Info. The game was weird. And a bit creeper at a couple of points.

Never actually played the game, so anything I bring in from that would be from wiki-diving it.
