Okay, wow, some people in this thread are way too damn timid.
BRS is not a Shadow, but she mostly sorta kinda occupies the same role as one.
She's also not a manifestation of the Mask taking the form of a being shaped by the Sea of Souls, so definitionally cannot be a Persona.
I doubt calling Mato's persona will really affect her at all, but I also kinda want to lean into the connection between Mato and BRS and see what kind of personal growth shakes out now that the two can interact properly.
Also, to that end, BRS wants Mato to understand her, and to understand that they are not actually seperate entities.
BRS likes to fight because, fundamentally, Mato likes to fight. BRS is Mato without the filters and inhibitions instilled by her society and upbringing. Yomi fused with Dead Master by acting in accordance with her nature.
Basically this has been a very long and elaborate way of saying I'm voting for this:

because at the end of the day this is what BRS is: Mato's willingness to fight basically anything and anyone. Even alone, even unneeded, because it is that act of struggle that makes the meaning.
Also also, Spec I had no idea you were running this quest, I'd have been here *way* sooner otherwise

Hey, has there been a discussion on what's exactly Mato's Persona is? Asking cause the way we got it, well... There were only 3 people in canon that acquired one that way. And they all had a variant of the same Persona.
So we probably don't have her 'natural Persona'. And since theres no Marie, I think we may have replaced her narratively. I think Mato has Izanami.
