It seems accusationial and very aggressive to me, if someone just saved my life and then accused me of something minor to me in a rude way, I would refuse on principle to cooperate.
Why? If someone just saved your life wouldn't you be grateful and as such more willing to listen to him or her? Even if they're bring rude?
Well it wouldn't hurt to be polite and respectful to say "please."

I'm both sad about his death and the fact that we have to deal with the guilt of taking a life. Not to mention the fact that Jess is probably going to be sad and angry at us. The road to crying has begun.

I guess that's fine if that's how it goes, because I can't see any pragmatic reason for her seeing if she could eat the body other than to get rid of it. She's good on hunger, so eating questionable meat isn't really necessary.
