[X][Magic] I utilize Spatial Magic. Distance has no meaning around me.
I'm always a big fan of this one! Spatial manipulation can get so interesting!!!
However I also wouldn't mind [X][Magic] Mine is Analysis Magic. Capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, structural compositions, I know them all with speed and can find a way to use them.
[X][Magic] A humble practitioner of Cleaning Magic, at your service. Though many scoff at such a mundane application of magic, I believe that much potential resides within it.
Tricky characters are also really fun! Characters that pick out weaknesses mid battle and then use them to win are always really satisfying. Having cleaning magic would force us to get creative, too! And then be great for underestimation purposes.
Man, I never thought I'd see fairy tail again after I dropped it. I bet you can pull it off, Saturday!

While some wizards may call upon the ancient might of dragons, and others wield once lost sorceries that twist and alter the natural laws of the world, the path of magic that you want to walk along is something quite a bit more mundane.
Cleaning Magic.
It is extremely common, enough that you can buy cheap magical cleaning tools by the dozen. Everyone and their mother is usually able to use a bit of Cleaning Magic, being able to clear dust and dirt away with a quick application of the stuff.
Basically, it was gateway magic that was primarily used as a stepping stone to bigger and more exciting sorceries. Most people never would give it a second glance after being able to summon spirits from another world or wield swords with their mind.
But not you. You saw this seemingly simple magic and remembered the saying. You knew, in your heart of hearts, that this wasn't a weak magic. And you weren't going to be a weak wizard.
That you swore.

"Alright… now I need you to sign your name right here." the obviously tired out of his mind Magic Council employee explains, pointing to a section of the official Wizard Registration Form.
You groan in frustration, "Is this all really necessary? I haven't even joined a Guild or anything yet!"
"Them's the rules. Go take it up with the Nine if you want to." says the man, before resting his face on the counter and yawning.
"Long night?"
"Yeah yeah laugh it up." grumbles the employee. "Just hurry up and fill out the form. Please, and thank you."
You shift your attention away from the now dozing man and down to the form he had just handed you. It was pretty simple all things considered, just a series of basic identifier questions so you could be recorded, registered and tracked if needed, you just liked complaining to complain.
Wanting to get this done as soon as possible, you rush through the form, speedily filling in all needed sections.

A million and one mundane questions, asking everything from your hair color to your blood type. You raise your eyebrow at some of the more non-sensical questions, like what your star sign is, but you fill it out anyway. It takes a while, but you eventually finish, somehow.
You slap the pen and paper right into the employee's sleeping face, turning around and ignoring the startled cry and subsequent crash to the floor. Weaving your way through the crowded Council Outpost you were in, you head towards the door leading outside.

It's a bright and sunny day here in the rail town of Oshibana, with nary a cloud in sight. Located in the southeastern region of Fiore, it was a major central hub of trade, on account of the massive railway system that had been set up here some time ago.
You could travel to just about anywhere in Fiore from here, and sometimes even farther beyond that.
And as a result, on a beautiful day like this one, the streets were packed with both residents and travelers. Slowly making your way through the crowd, you think on what to do now that you are officially a Registered Wizard, though one not part of any guild. (Choose 2)
[][Now] On that Guild thing… while everyone knows about Fairy Tail, maybe you should go do some research on other guilds. See what they're like.
[][Now] Go window shopping, a town so focused on commerce like Oshibana had to have a pretty good selection of stuff.

[][Now] Wander Oshibana, who knows what you'll find.

- [Now] Where to? (Literally, any somewhat major town/city in Fiore is available)

Plan vote'd be nice for the character-building votes. The 'Now' vote doesn't have to be part of the plan, though it'd be fine if you include it.
Dates and stuff are going to be switched around. I'm still debating what to do with the time skips. We'll see.
Soo Saturday, while I was/still am writing on my review for the last few chapters on SAO, I am here discovering a brand new quest from you
Why, I was on the look out for a RWBY quest you know
The development of Erza's fightingstyle I find a crime against the setting itself, especially when one considers how it was handled early in the series
I feel like Beast Soul Magic would become too much of a grind fest, as the best way to improve that magic isn't by learning or growing as a person, but just finding stronger and stronger monsters to beat. So sorry, I'm going to reject Beast Soul Magic.
A pity, maybe it's due me reading Beastars recently (a manga that I can only recommend), but I feel there would have been a big potential in take over magic if you tweaked it a bit
like
1. Make the Focus of the Magic, on developing a fighting style that fits your transformation and give each transformation a distinct advantage over the other
2. Having the user deal with the instincts of their victims, either permanently or during the transformation
Anyway other then that I would suggest following magics and would like your opinion on them @Saturday
Edit: late dammit
No option for the north or some of the neighbors of Fiore?

---[X] Offer to work part time within the inn as a cleaning aid, to reduce the price for the stay
Okay, my idea is to stay independent for a while, mostly in order to get some experience with our magic, and somewhere down the line hit Fairy Tail to join the guild before the plot starts, preferably before Lisanna 'dies'
For the Name of our char, it's mostly a shout out to both BNHA and the Fact that Fairy Tail had some seriously silly names
For the to do, well the quests are mostly to make some money and train our magic, and the inn is for a save sleeping space, since we are 8 years old and to get some more 'training'
Edit: Changed the age, to be 14, so that we would be solo, but still could develop our magic on our own
And changed the home town to Centim
Plot twist: We're an incredibly weak wizard but we're really good at punching things and thats basically the same thing.
Personality wise I think we've got to be driven. We decided to prove that cleaning magic is powerful . . . because spite?
I don't have time right now to make a plan, or to really think through every option, so for now I will just vote for those I really want and then edit it.

I definitely don't want the X770 start. Playing as a chid is either really boring, or the character isn't really a child but an adult pretending to be a child.
Considering that this is a quest, I expect that the second alternative would be more likely.
Yeah I had all the mechanics and worldbuilding changes and everything ready, but just as I was about to post it, I realized that I wasn't really doing all that much that other people hadn't already done. The world of Remnant has been explored so much already, so instead I'd like to take a glance at Earthland instead.

The thing is, if we want our magic to matter, and by extension for us to stay relevant within the plot, we have to develop our magic
And I think the best option for us to do so, is to start as early as possible

You see it as something good. I see it as something bad.
A story about a young MC tends to create an OP child. If we start at the age of 8 then by the age of 10 we will probably be S-class and by the age of 15 we will rival Zeref.
Questers always want to find loopholes in a QM's system to get as powerful as possible, as fast as possible.
Why would we even want to stay relevant to the plot? If we start in a country other than Fiore, (nvm, I thought we would be able to live in one of the other countries) we probably won't have anything to do with any of the canon events, other than the Alvarez Invasion and I would be really annoyed if we were somehow able to repel that all by ourselves just because we trained from the age of 8.
This is the story of a Cleaning Mage, not of the Fairy Tail guild (hopefully). There is no need to keep up with the canon.
In case we do end up in Fairy Tail, we don't need to be OP lile Gildarts or Natsu to be relevant. The other characters were relevant without being as strong.
It is clearly stated in the choices that we won't start from the scratch if we start at an age higher than 8. Sure, if we started at 8, then by 18 we would be way more powerful than we would be if we started at 18 in the first place, but to me that isn't a good thing.

The GM outright said, that overpowered magical abilities weren't an option, so what exactly makes you think that he would suddenly allow this just because we have picked our magic
Nevermind that this isn't about getting powerful as fast as possible, but more about defining what we as the player base see as cleaning magic and how we wish to use it, while the GM decides what is possible and what isn't
Why would we even want to stay relevant to the plot? Dude, we will stay in Fiore, because regardless of our Origin our starting place is Oshibana which lies in Fiore
And we have to stay relevant to the plot, because the plot is one of the things that the GM complains about, mostly in how it doesn't matter
Given that most of us are probably here, because they are somehow emotionally involved with Fairy Tail, expecting us to just stand by, while people we like kick that bucket, because consequences suddenly do matter, is ridiculous
Nevermind that the later plots grow so large, that not staying relevant to the plots is just asking to be collateral damage
In case we do end up in Fairy Tail, we don't need to be OP lile Gildarts or Natsu to be relevant. The other characters were relevant without being as strong.
But we do need to have some-kind of fighting ability, because Fairy Tail is an inherently violent setting and in case you forgot, even Natsu was with 8 a total weak-ass brat, despite having 'OP-Magic'
As such I expect us, whose magic is decidedly a utility magic, to work hard to make it into a tool that is useful for anything beyond cleaning tables
Always felt there needs to be more Fairy Tail quests, especially ones that expand on/explore its world. I like the idea of cleaning magic too. After all, cleanliness is next to godliness.
