Despite the obvious tragedy that their presence implied all by itself- it was shockingly exhilarating to fight Chitauri. There was no moral ambiguity, no need to check her targets beyond making sure they weren't wearing a bright spandex outfit or shooting arrows. And quite aside from that... she had never felt so strong.
Sparring with Charud had given her a bit of a reality check with regards to her own abilities. Despite his... inexpert technique, he was always able to overcome her with sheer inhuman physicality. Even held back by Stark's suit, it hadn't been long before he'd adapted completely and continued to outclass her. Before fighting the alien, the Black Widow often fought an uphill battle against men who were much bigger and stronger than she was. It didn't protect them as completely as they were often used to, obviously. But she'd leaned on technique and tools to overcome her natural disadvantages. These... she hit them, and they went down. Crumpled, often knocked sprawling off their feet. She was doing almost as much damage as Rogers, catching impressed looking glances in her direction from the old war horse as she dodged a Chitauri energy rifle and he bounced the shot off his shield and straight into the face of another shrieking alien invader. She yanked the rifle out of it's hands and kicked it so hard it's throat caved in and then spun the gun about, finding a trigger mechanism and firing into the target rich environment that New York had become.
"Could really use some artillery behind us!" Cap shouted as he whinged his shield off another trooper's head, sending it spinning backwards before catching it again.
"You're telling me. Where's Charud?" She asked, taking a deep breath and trying something new; focusing on that now familiar sensation of pushing beyond herself; the familiar shape of a knife coming through to her as she swung her fist and drove an icepick hole into an alien's brain.
"Still fighting." Clint answered over the radio. "Whoever that other Saiyan is, he's got him on the backfoot; but Charud's leading him on a merry chase, keeping him away from civilians."
There was the sound of an explosion that rattled windows overhead.
"Aaand that was him baiting the other guy into blowing one of their dino fish. Make a note, don't stand in front of that. Stark, you got a lot of action on your tail." Hawkeye continued, casually firing one arrow after another.
Natascha tuned out the rest of that conversation, throwing another Chitauri over her shoulder and onto the ground, where Captain Rogers stepped on it firmly. "None of this is going to mean anything if we don't get that portal closed." She said, looking up at the beacon shining from Stark's gaudy tower. "I need to get up there..."
"I'll be fine! Do what you have to." The captain replied. She was about to nod when suddenly the ground rocked beneath her feet and an almighty BOOM rocked the streets even worse than anything so far; in the distance she could see a building collapsing in on itself, brickwork blown to pieces, shrouding the streets in a haze of smoke and dust.
"Oh. Banner's here." She said with a sigh.
"I am?" She heard nearby; both Spy and Captain turning to see the small, withdrawn man they'd met on the carrier standing next to them in a pair of bermuda shorts. "I should probably uh..." he said, gesturing vaguely around himself.
"Yeah that sounds like a good idea." Nat answered as beams of light began to blast from the pillar of dust, knocking down another hundred year old brownstone around the clashing Saiyans.

Raditz, you fucking idiot. No wonder you're such a joke to the fandom, and the rest of the saiyans on top of that. With your power you should have been a contender, if not for being too lazy to train, too cowardly to get stuck in, and too stupid to use what strength you had. With his scouter broken, his ears ringing, and his eyes clogged with dust, he was reduced to firing blind.
Of course, I couldn't see either. But I didn't need to. Not with Raditz; his power stuck out like a beacon. With my eyes shut tight, I could feel everything, every motion was laid bare. I resisted the urge to laugh, and instead I floated, brick dust sticking to my sweat, concealing even my smell, as I darted in and laid a hammer blow across his chin. He yelped, and swung wildly, missing me completely, and threw out an energy blast in completely the wrong direction, which blew up the defenseless Baxter building next door and only made his problem worse. Twisting in midair, never touching the ground, I threw a kick at his ribs, then bounced away when he tried to counter. Up, down, and around, I drifted, flight my only locomotion. My center of gravity was wherever I wanted it to be, and without the need to plant my feet on the ground, I could throw a full power blow from whatever angle I wanted.
"Grrgh; I should have known you were too much of a coward to fight fair! Come on, face me like a Saiyan!" he howled, before I put an end to his blustering by laying an elbow straight into his windpipe.
Oh no, no no no, Raditz you silly boy. If I fought you like a Saiyan, I would lose! That's why we weren't going to fight like Saiyans; we were going to fight like humans. Specifically the dirtiest cheating bastard I could manage, and you off your game and reeling. He hacked and coughed, and I flew up high and swung down low, driving my heel into the back of his head, slamming his face down into the shattered brickwork. I hopped back before he could sweep my legs, and when he tried to fly away to get out of the cloud, I took my chance and grabbed him by the tail.
He instantly went rigid, and dropped straight to the ground. I winced a little in sympathy. But not very much. Instead I spent my time more productively, by mounting him; tail still firmly held in my left hand, as my right came up and then slammed down onto his face. Once, twice, three times as he gasped and writhed helplessly. My lips twisted in a sadistic smile, and I lifted my hand up; some of the dust blowing away as I pushed Ki above my palm, gathering up a swirling purple wad of it as I opened my eyes to look down at his bleeding, horrified face.
"Please... Please don't kill me! I'll go! I promise I'll leave this planet! It's yours, you can do what you like with it!" He pleaded.
For just a moment he looked so damn pathetic that I almost considered sparing him. Well... I wasn't going to be as stupid as Goku and let him go, but maybe I didn't really have to pop his head in cold blood.
My hesitation was my undoing. A bolt of plasma came in from nowhere; one of the alien vehicles moving to protect their vanguard, striking me in the forearm that held onto Raditz's tail. As I howled in agony from the unexpected wound, he hit me straight in the chin; a real, proper blow like he hadn't landed since the start of the fight. Ears ringing and sense of balance annihilated, I spun through the air and smashed into a wall, only for Raditz to blow it up on top of me.

Elsewhere, on top of the tower, the recipient of a similarly brutal beating clenched his fist and slowly hauled himself from the humanoid crater he'd been beaten into. Blood splattered the ground as he forced himself into a crouch and took deep, ragged breaths; before letting them out as an incantation. He would NOT be made a fool of again!

"Aha... ahaha... You know it's a real pity, if you had the brains to give up on this miserable rock, you would have made a fine underling. It would have been nice to have another Saiyan around. Someone who wouldn't break when I smacked them around a little." Raditz gloated as he strutted over to me, bleeding and limping but still going.
I could feel at least... yeah I'd say four or five broken bones. Pretty bad burn on my arm, a deep bruise on my chest where Raditz had gotten me with that blast. I spat blood and brick dust at him, but didn't quite have the distance. "Spare me the flirting Raditz, I don't swing that way. You gonna kill me, or stand there talking all day?" I asked with more confidence than I felt. Truth be told I was kind of hoping he'd take the second one, I had no particular desire to die today. Although... maybe I'd get to meet King Kai. Nah. Who was I kidding? I'd be hanging out with Goz and Mez.
Raditz smirked, lifting one hand up and aiming his palm at me where I lay sprawled on the ground. "Goodbye Charud. It's been a real... blast."
"Ow." I groaned. That pun. He hadn't even shot me and I think I was dying; the sky was going dark... Wait a minute.
Idiot that he was, Raditz still noticed, and the blast brewing at his palm faded as he looked up, and then split his face with an even wider smile than before. "Aha ha. So that sorcerer really came through in the end after all. I guess he got tired of waiting. Say, you haven't had the training to control-" he started, and before he could finish gloating, I found that little spark of power I had left, and fired everything I had at him. Not his face or center mass. I had only one shot and I had to take it, and blew off his tail.
He howled again as he fell back and clutched his ass; screaming curses at me that made less and less sense as I breathed a sigh of relief. Followed by another gasp of horror. High up above me, sitting just above the swirling darkness of the portal was just what I hoped never to see again without dire, dire need. Then the fear dissolved away, and all I felt was pain, and rage, and Hate. Hate! HATE!

Steve gripped his shield in both hands and beat a particularly stubborn Chitauri warrior into the ground with three hard, quick blows, then fell back, taking deep breaths in the small window he had between opponents.
"Why is it night all the sudden...?" he asked, as Thor threw his hammer and looked skyward.
"This is some illusion of my brother's. But why he would do such a thing I do not- The trolls!" He shouted suddenly.
"The what?" Steve asked, stepping to his feet. As if to answer him, there came a deep, bestial howling. Both Avengers turned, as waves of heat seemed to flow from down the street. Wordlessly they broke into a run toward the sound, bounding over the Chitauri both fallen and otherwise. A scene of horror met their eyes, as something huge, hairy, and shrieking barrled it's way into the street ahead of them; barking and groaning; sounding enraged and agonized. With a start, Steve realized it was Charud; his dusty, broken armor stretched over his expanding body as muscle piled upon muscle. Another Saiyan with a bleeding stump of a tail dangled from one of his overgrown hands, limp and broken.
He fixed Steve with a deep blue glare and opened his mouth to scream, a loud clattering hitting his ears as Charud spat all of his teeth out on the ground, his jaw slowly shifting and stretching as a new set of larger, sharper dentition began to grow in their place. His body jerked and contorted, growing in rapid fits and starts. His arms grew wildly out of proportion with his body, the stocky limbs stretching skeletally thin before muscle began to pile around them, nearly twice as long as he was tall, elbows jutting up above his back as he bent forward and thick fur sprouted all over his skin.
"What the hell is happening to him?" Steve gasped, stepping backward.
"He changes with the sight of the full moon. He will rage throughout the night and destroy everything in his path unless he is stopped. You must go, and lift my brother's spell!" Thor replied, stepping between them and swinging his hammer rapidly.
"And what about you?"
"I must hold the beast off! Hurry, I don't know how long I can-"
Charud hit Thor with the other Saiyan, swatting him so hard that his hammer was left spiralling through the air for a moment before hitting the ground head down with a -chunk-.
He roared; the blast of sound hitting Steve like a physical force, skidding him backwards as he clapped his hands over his ears and windows shattered all around him. Charud reared up, beating his chest; and an eerie fire burned in his mouth.
