Ooh, I have another idea.

[] Plan Perils of the Warp
-[] Pls go Bulli (Reality)
-[] Sidelong V2
-[] Cut/Paste Form
-[] Copy/Paste Form?
-[] Advanced Crystal Incubator
-[] Single Shot MG Maker

I dunno if that's too much power, though.

I'm not really concerned with the MG Maker, it looks really inefficient. Even with Repair all spent on it, I doubt it's going to reach anywhere near the amount of students Prism gets.

So.... to clarify we have to come up with a theme for items to make and provide examples for what could be under that theme?

.... I suddenly want o give Eve a motorcycle.

Edit: Have to be a hell of a motorcycle though....

I think it's more that we quickly agreed on a theme and a few essential items (Advanced Crystal Incubator, Combination Fabricator, Artificial MG Maker) that already take up 1/2 - 3/4 of our energy budget. What were we to actually do?
Yeah, you guys are actually fine. I didn't read the thread carefully enough over the weekend to realize you had given me enough material to work with, and now...

Sorry, finals season. Not much time to think up upgrades and stuff.
:V

(My last final is next Thursday, FYI.)

It is massive and unsorted. Enjoy.
Thank you. Now, let's see:
  • A device to be able to speak to anyone, bypassing all intervening obstacles (including distance). Not particularly useful, but fits the Progenitor theme.
...Uhh... that's about it. A lot of ideas are body upgrades, some universal keys/doors/remotes that should be easy to make (IIRC), some combat ideas. Also, notably, health potions, which I don't think we have materials for.
So it may be useful to spend any unused power upgrading our bodies (which Upgrade said she knows how to do best).

The issue with that is that we only have access to the workshop and all the materials here for a few hours, so we should make the most of it while we can.
Body upgrades can be done anytime, so we should focus on projects with expensive/rare material requirements.

BTW, two aspects of our sisters' powers we should keep in mind:
- White: Collaborate
"If someone considers me to be their ally and vise-versa, I can bring them into a lil' network of DOOM! Whenever we work together to accomplish a common objective, we'll all get a bunch of little perks related to accomplishing said task. It'll be temporarily suspended if any of you go more than 500 yards away from me."
Replicate, which will grant me temporary use of any superpowers needed to recreate specific objects created by, or using, said powers. Although I believe this would include Upgrade once it began selectively suppressing one or more laws of reality to further improve a given object, I would only gain approximately one day of charge instead of enough energy to fully recreate it. I believe I can only borrow powers once per relevant object.
That especially means that for items we create thrice, Skye has access to two Upgrade charges. We use Upgrade on the first instance, Skye replicates it for the other two.

You are technically correct — the best kind of correct. EDIT: I'm going to have to recalculate some of the costs when I have time, but I'm happy about that.

Wait, can we and Skye collaborate by creating very tiny objects that require reality adjustments, and if that item has less than 1 day's worth of Upgrade Power, chain abuse for extra power?

*opens mouth to deny, pauses, checks notes*

Read As Intended would've said "no" since that was supposed to be up to one day of power under the assumption that reality-warping effects would cost more than that.

RAW says "WHEEEEE!" Skye won't be able to devote any excess energy toward other projects, but she could still upgrade materials beyond what your own improvements, which is just wrong on so many levels.

@Alivaril I see we are continuing the proud tradition that earned us/'you' that rather excellent and hilarious Meta-achievement huh?

Can't engage in loophole abuse if there are no loopholes, and I'm not so arrogant as to assume I can make a loophole-free system, so... might as well make a system for which finding loopholes isn't "MALWARE! IT'S A FEATURE!"

The Guardian's Necklace has several functions, each with their own individual usage drain and recharge. The ruby will give you passive physical protection; it won't completely protect you, but it'll soften any blows above a certain threshold. The worse the impact, the more it'll drain. It'll still hurt a bit, of course; I don't want enemies to start thinking you have invulnerability. The emerald will grant you rapid regeneration if you're banged up enough. The sapphire leeches poison from any consumed food or drink and keeps it around for future analysis. Won't do anything for injections, so be careful around ominous syringes.
Upgrade ideas for when we're back home:
  1. Since the Guardian's Necklace only works while worn, it would be better if it couldn't be taken off by anyone but the wearer. Upgrade.
  2. The sapphire in the nacklace leeches poison intended for our bloodstream. An improvement would be if it also drained poison directly from our blood. Upgrade.
These should be small enough to take less than a single charge, while requiring reality-manipulation, which means Skye can trivially apply the same upgrades to the other two necklaces.

For future reference, if it's one of your own posts, just click "Edit", "Use BB Code Editor", then copy and paste into an empty quote block.

  • There's no vote, so just agreeing with previously proposed ideas would count as a no content post.
  • Alivaril said the decision what to make would be in several stages anyhow, so there's no incentive to innovate right now.
  • The uncertainty about our remaining energy budget (3 or 6 charges?) means we can't really guess what would count as a valid plan.
  • I'd have appreciated a short author post by now that basically locks in those three items nearly everyone agrees on, then tells us the new constraints we're under with that theme.
For me personally, there's also that I prefer Ignition and that I have extremely little time right now.
Thanks for the tip. And I was mostly A. concerned about Alivaril getting discouraged, and B. thinking that, if we can innovate at any step in the process, we might as well do it now, lest someone's suggestion end up throwing off all of our calculations and plans, and require us to redo things from scratch.

...Which you and @Gnarker have, in-fact, already done. So uh...thanks for demonstrating why we should come up with exploits/ask questions early on, I guess?

Funnily enough, so is mine.

Yeah, that was about my conclusion. Got some interesting ideas for making more exotic materials, but we're kinda not lacking in them at the moment.

Ah, BTW, you guys aren't anywhere near being endgame. Upgrade's exploit did let you skip much of the initial buildup, but since most fights aren't death matches, having more defenses against death doesn't necessarily do as much for you as you might expect.

Shenanigans are ensuing with the latest ideas, though. However, they're on the list of "You're allowed to exploit this for this one session, but it's so utterly broken that we're going to have to nerf you on the orders of General Principle." Upgrading a single wire, upgrading a single metal plate, upgrading a single small gem that will imbue another item with an effect... the list is a bit silly, honestly.

You don't have the materials on hand to make crystal wings without spending an unacceptably high amount of charge, but you could make segmented versions out of one or more of the following:
- Cloth
- Metal or wood shards (probably won't because that's terrifying, though)
- "Trapped" light
- Light-trapping shards
- Fire someone could get seriously hurt.
- Solid air
- Water
- Ice
- The frustrated tears of those who thought the Capacitor drain was a one-time incident
— (actually you probably could do that one)
- And knowing Upgrade, if you come up with something else she can justify, you might be able to get away with it.

EDIT: Ah, I stand corrected. You could make crystal wings out of grains of salt imbued to assemble into larger crystals. We might need an entire science round just for this pair of exploits lol.

Random thought for a theme... transport and movement. Aka 'There and Back Again'

- Suitcase that uses space folding shenanigans to fit a motorcycle into a small suitcase that looks more like a folding bike.
- Portal Gun... not limited to moon dust but does need a sufficiently flat and smooth surface.
- small handheld device that can provide tickets for basically any flight, bus or train or smart pass signals for them. Limited charges or charges per day
- Ship in a bottle...that can be opened to produce a full sized ship. (Can't really but it BACK in though)

Chain abuse how so? Like, can you give an example of what we'd be doing here?
Say it costs 0.3 days worth of power to upgrade something to the point where Skye can borrow Upgrade for that 1 day of power. If Skye can reuse this to borrow again for another day of power we have generated infinite power. If she cannot we have multipled effective power by 3.3. The most boring interpretation has little to no power multiplying of course.

I was just going to say "portal gun".

@Alivaril so how about that ruby upgrade though?
