[X] Your mother would be displeased if you passed up something as broken as invisibility; ask for the cloaking device.
"The cloaking device,
" you decide eventually.
"I'm tempted to ask for a me-tailored copy of Cherub's wings, but those are
kinda distinctive. I wouldn't be able to use them in more than one identity.
"
Progenitor gives you a wry smile.
"She also controls them through technokinesis alone. So, you know, I'd have to come up with something
creative to make them work for you."
ヽ( ˃ ヮ˂)ノ
Progenitor ignores the enthusiastic-yet-confusing commentary from Upgrade. After two seconds of uncertain silence, you're stuck squinting and clapping both hands over your ears in response to an abrupt change in light and sound levels.
(;¬_¬)
"Let us see," Celes orders immediately.
Once your eyes adapt with unusual speed, you find yourself and both siblings in the middle of a bustling city street, standing atop painted bricks. Several colorful banners hang from nearby buildings and a few surprisingly-skilled musicians play nearby, one of them singing in a language you don't understand.
ლ(ಠ_ಠლ)
You seem to have acquired a small backpack at some point, one heavy with what you can only assume is your
ill-gotten gains new cloaking device. Meanwhile, your pockets are
disturbingly light, lacking both your wallet and phone.
Skye begins to freeze up beside you. You exchange one look with Celes before your oldest sibling cups both hands around her mouth and shouts at the skies above.
"You idiot! You're terrifying Sister!"
( ´•̥ו̥` )
You see several passerby giving you odd looks in the moment before the scenery changes. You find yourself back in Prism's basement, along with your siblings and the two tour-guide MGs. By the time you can turn to check on her again, Skye has suppressed any signs of her previous fear and uncertainty.
Ayna and Julia look as surprised by the abrupt change from the office as you were. You ignore them in favor of focusing on your new sister.
(╯•﹏•╰)
"You okay?"
"Perfectly fine," Skye answers stiffly. There's a somewhat longer delay before she continues.
"I believe I would like to return to your home now."
<(*.*<)
"Upgrade says she'd like to hug you, I think. And we can do that."
You and Celes both reach for your pockets at the same time. After a moment spent frozen awkwardly, she gestures for you to continue and glares at the ceiling herself.
"Great job, Progenitor," Celes stage-whispers.
"You were making progress, then bam. Suddenly teleportation. You had one job: apologize to Skye and make her life less stressful. I'm going to download a slow-clap app when we get home, it was that bad."
To your vague surprise, Progenitor
does answer.
"Omnipotence did bad things for my impulse control, okay? I really am sorry. It seemed like a good way to encourage bonding."
Щ(◣д◢)Щ
Judging by the lack of reaction from Skye, Progenitor didn't include her in that particular transmission.
"Okay, what the hell was that?" Julia asks abruptly.
"I mean, besides literally the most powerful cape ever showing up and saying you're his kids. Were those illusions? Because if so, you're probably on Progenitor's shitlist."
"Technically, one kid, but..."
"They're triplets. Explain to me how that would work."
"Powers?"
(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و
"...Point. And since when did you have a backpack?" Julia asks, turning her full attention to you.
[] Tell the magical girls that it's been fun and nice meeting them, but you should really go home. Your sister needs to be distracted from the meeting with her abusive birth father.
-[] You refuse to comment on familial relations. Skye is your sister and that's that.
-[] Call your mother and tell her you want to go home early.
--[] Relay the entire meeting in detail.
--[] Just summarize: You met Progenitor, he scared Skye and gave her more powers to protect her, and you have a nice cloaking device now.
-[] Let Skye decide what to do with the rest of your day.
-[] Watch more anime, and this time, rewatch stuff you know is villain-friendly.
