Alivaril, question -- there's extradimensional storage stuff, right? Hammerspace. And so on. Are any of those types of things, a "time doesn't pass for the object when you put it in" types of storage?
Mom's devices that she gave us have limited charge. Presumably that means they can be recharged after those uses. Does that mean mom can recharge them? Specifically, can she make batteries or chargers? If yes: Upgrading batteries and chargers that mom makes, would be interesting. At first, it might have the obvious effects of being able to store more energy in those things. But perhaps over time they might be evolved into being able to recharge powers in general rather than just devices.
You sigh and try to figure out what singing has to do with anything. After several seconds of confusion, you wonder how to communicate Upgrade's impressions to Celes. It seems like the sort of thing she'd be better at.

We need to start using Upgrade on a Dictionary or a translation gadget or device. Ideally eventually we'll be able to improve it enough that it'll be able to translate what our Power is saying. Can mom make such a thing? Or failing that, can she
buy one? An item, or even just dictionary, that translates all human languages is something that's handy enough that some tinkerer probably made such things at some point.
Or, we need to start keeping a record of our interactions with power; and upgrading
that with our power to improve our comprehension. A science journal or log.
Also, we 3 need to test out cooperative uses of our powers, if Celes ordering objects can have this effect with upgrading. Is this something Celes can do for
anything we use Upgrade on, or is it only because of how Overdrive works? Or perhaps its the MG Artifact itself that makes the difference. Still, no reason we can't start testing things out. Because being able to combine cheesy powers is just great.

Ah. So. Celes can make things flow smoother. And our power seems to know how to use itself in some cases and even how some of its uses might turn out... And she can use this on people too.

Celes picks up the slack while you're still reviewing your memories.
"Our powers - specifically, ours, probably not yours if they haven't been trying to talk to you - are sapient. Did we forget to mention that part?"

Is there a reason Celes can't order us to go into our temporary super-mode?
That is: that thing that our three's powers can sometimes do, where they go Assuming Direct Control and get more powerful for a bit. Is there a reason Celes can't allow the three of us to temporarily undergo it?
And then we just have the Powers themselves do all the Commanding, Upgrading and Sciencing! ^_^
Also... The magical girl artifact. It's function is to summon the spirits that will grant magical girl powers, right?

While an object is under the effects of Overdrive, you may temporarily assume some of its traits. Sadly, you cannot upgrade yourself while you are under the effect of Borrow.
Example: If a teleport bracelet was Overdriven and you elected to use Borrow, you would be able to teleport until Overdrive ended. If you used it on a set of power armor, you'd get several benefits.
... So...
Can we use Borrow on it while we're Overcharging it?
I'm not sure if we'd gain the ability to summon those very same spirits ourselves. Or if we'd gain the ability to summon spirits in general. Or whatever. But it'd certainly be interesting!
Because if it's the
latter, then you know what might be pretty cool to do? Using it to
summon our own Powers!
Failing that, if we can't pull that off with Borrow... Can we have Celes use her power on the Artifact and ask it to try targeting things
other than the Magical Girl power-granting Spirits it can summon? i.e. Have Celes order the artifact to be capable of widening the scope of how it does things a bit. Then use the Artifact to summon our powers, if we can't do it with Borrow.
We should definitely run these idea by Upgrade. See what it thinks of them. Both the "can we use Celes's power to have us undergo Assuming Direct Control" thing and then "Would using Borrow on the MG artifact give some kind of summoning or manifestation power, and can we use it on our own Powers?" ideas.
Also, if it turns out we
can induce the temporary possession 'super-mode' with Celes's help, then while the Power is in control we should have it try to communicate first. Er. That is... Just have it write down or say stuff. Give information. (If, that is, that is how the possession mode works; if it only controls the power itself rather than our own body, oh well.) Both to kick-start a Human-to-Power dictionary or translator by having it provide information while its doing that, and also to just take advantage of the opportunity to speak freely in order to directly tell us anything we need to know.
(Again, we really should see if it would help to get a Translation Gadget from Mom at some point and start upgrading it. Maybe google glasses or some form of scanning device too. Or maybe asking for a really fancy gadgeteered smartphone. Eventually improving into getting a Mercury Computer would be cool.)
