It's been long enough I don't remember what our suggestion was.
We told her that humans were awesome because they could change and complimented her on being a youkai-like human. Homura said this inspired her about a new way to deal with her problems.

EDIT: Oh, she was inspired by the ability to store Magical Girls across timeloops in other dimensional storage instead.... Or in addition to?

You wonder what to do for a few moments - after all, Ilya and Lulu are still waiting for you, and you shouldn't neglect your other guests … but, even if you were kept unaware of her presence, Homura is your guest, too, and you shouldn't abandon her, either. Especially since there's the possibility she could turn into a Witch. It would be highly improper to allow that to happen unless Homura wanted it. So after a few seconds you simply nod to yourself and settle down to wait on the edge of the fountain. Madoka gives you a nervous look, but you just shake your head and smile; she nods and turns her attention back to Homura, and after a few more minutes she calms down a little, holding onto Madoka exhaustedly. Then she tries to push herself upright.

"If you're still not feeling well, you should probably stay horizontal," you chime in. Homura stiffens and hunches her shoulders - embarrassed at having been seen in such a weak state, or does she just want you to go away?

"Um, I don't mind, Homura-chan - I mean, if you want to sit up, of course you can! But … if you're not feeling well …." Homura relaxes a bit, and Madoka smiles happily before going back to stroking her hair. You wait for another minute before asking a question that's been bothering you for a while.

"… Why is Sayaka dressed like a maid?" Madoka gets a strange look on her face and chuckles nervously.

"Ehehe … um, that would be … um, your sister said to wear it? I think it had something to do with the rules for tonight …." She looks down at the dress she's wearing. "She gave us these dresses, too - ah, and Mami-san and Kyouko-san are wearing maid outfits, too." She giggles and smiles down at Homura. "Do you remember, Homura-chan? When we first saw Kyouko-san dressed like that?" A moment passes, and Homura sort of nods. Madoka looks back up at you. "Mami-san seemed happy, but Kyouko-san kept getting embarrassed whenever we'd see her. But Sayaka-chan was happy, too - she kept saying she was like a secret bodyguard!" She giggles again, but her smile fades when she looks back down at Homura. A few seconds later, as if sensing the change in the girl's emotions, Homura pushes herself upright. She keeps her head down, however, and her hair falls forward to block your view of her face.

"… I'm sorry for making you see me like this," she begins, but you cluck your tongue loudly.

"I'm pretty sure you've seen me crying a time or two. It's not something to feel shame or anything about." Madoka looks worriedly at Homura, but the black-haired girl simply nods brusquely after a few moments. "Do you feel better? Or are just trying to get me to go away?" Now Madoka looks really worried, and Homura turns her head enough that you can see her glowering past her hair at you. You laugh - she must be feeling better! "I'm asking because Lulu and Ilya are waiting, and I was wondering if you wanted to see them. I'm sure Lulu wants to see you again." Her head droops again, and Madoka looks confused.

"Lulu-san and … Ilya-san?" She sort of stumbles over Ilya's name, and you smile at her while nodding.

"Mhm! They're my friends. Ah, you might have met Ilya already - she's been staying here, and she has beautiful white hair." Madoka's face freezes in a worried smile.

"Ah - Il- … Irya- … Ilyav-" You giggle as she tries to work her way through Ilya's name.

"Ill-yas-viel. Illyasviel. And Lulu is Lutecia, but you shouldn't have met her yet." Madoka nods and keeps working on Ilya's name. You turn your attention back to Homura.

"I … remember Lutecia. She helped with … her mother. And we went to the pool." You smile and nod, but Homura's head lowers again and she looks at her hands. Her hand darts up to grab the ring on her necklace and she shudders; you glance at her Soul Gem, sitting on the bench next to her, but it's barely bubbling.

"… I think she'd be happy to see you again - but she's also the sort of person who'd be worried if she thought her presence was hurting you, so I don't think she'll be upset if you want to stay with someone you're more familiar with." After a few seconds, Homura nods.

"I … don't mind seeing them." Madoka smiles and leans into Homura, hugging her tightly, and you nod and stand up.

"I'll go get them, then. I'll be right back!" You turn and dash through the maze back to the entrance. Sayaka is still there, of course, and it seems everyone else is talking to her. She turns to face you when she hears you coming. "Homura said she was fine with seeing Ilya and Lulu," you say, and Lulu's face brightens as Sayaka moves out of the way. The maids, of course, are still going to wait outside the maze, but you grin mischievously at your servant. "Satsuki, you're Sayaka's senior, so make sure you teach her properly, okay?" Both her and Sayaka's faces glow from embarrassment, and you giggle as you lead your friends into the maze, although your mirth fades quickly. "Ilya, do you know anything about what happened to Homura?" She shakes her head, and Lulu looks at you, concerned.

"I only know that she wasn't in good shape when she arrived - Illyasviel saw that, and I guess it left an impression. Remilia seems to have taken an interest in her, too, so I haven't tried to meet her or anything." You nod; Madoka seemed to recognize your bare-bones description of Ilya, but that's not too surprising, especially if she met Mami and Kyouko.

"I'll talk to her first, and you can meet her afterward, okay?" Lulu skips ahead and turns around, walking backward, and Ilya nods. Lulu's smile grows, and when you reach the center of the maze she turns around and strides confidently toward Homura and Madoka while you hang back with Ilya. "Homura! It's good to see you again." Homura looks up and smiles weakly.

"Lutecia … it's been a long time." Lulu nods and turns slightly to look at Madoka.

"I'm Lutecia Alpine. Homura helped me out a lot, so I'm glad that she's still alright." Madoka smiles brightly.

"Mm! I'm Kaname Madoka." She looks at Homura and her smile fades slightly, replaced by confusion, as Homura looks around.

"Where is … ah …?" Her eyebrows knit together, and you see Lulu's shoulders tense up.

"Agito? Um, she's out in the party right now, with … um, she's with my mother." Homura stops looking around, and her brittle smile seems to stretch at Lulu's explanation. It's probably not that she's unhappy that Lulu's wish came true, but that she's having too many emotional swings. You walk forward with Ilya. She steps to the side, and you and Lulu step away to give her space as she curtsies.

"Good evening. I am Illyasviel von Einzbern," she says, eyes gleaming, and Madoka's face goes stiff as she bows politely. Did someone say something to her about Ilya being someone she should be worried about?

"I-Illyas-" Her eyes turn helplessly toward you, but Ilya's musical laughter draws her attention back.

"It's fine! Are you enjoying yourselves tonight?" Madoka nods, but Ilya looks at Homura, who seems to be working out what she wants to say.

"Flan, do you think we should leave them alone? She really doesn't look well." You mask a frown at Lulu's telepathic question.

"Madoka had to use a Grief Seed on her after we started talking. I don't know if she'll like being surrounded by people, especially if they focus on her more because I'm with her. And if we stay too long with just her, she'll probably get suspicious and wonder why we aren't enjoying ourselves at the party." Lulu nods as Ilya chats lightly with Homura; did they plan this together, or did she ask Ilya to try distracting them so she could talk to you?

"Maybe if we introduced her to Fate and Nanoha? They're both nice, and I think they're keeping themselves out of the way." It's your turn to nod, and you check with your clones - they're back together now, and sitting at a table with Vita and Agito. That would be two birds with a single stone, of course, but how would Vita take your introduction? Sometimes she's fine, but other times she seems to take everything you do in the worst possible light. And she could have a point this time - you'd be pushing one of your guests onto another guest, abdicating your responsibilities and potentially making two groups' night worse instead of doing things yourself. Of course, the counter would be that you're not good at this sort of thing … but does it need to be done tonight, right now?

What do you do?

[ ] Chat with Homura and Madoka for a bit, then go to the danmaku area.

[ ] Safety in numbers! Bring Homura and Madoka with you to the danmaku area.

[ ] Bring in the specialist. Introduce Homura to Nanoha and Fate.

[ ] Other?

DM Note: Imagine Nanoha leading Mami, Kyouko, and Sayaka in a rendition of You Gotta Have Heart in an attempt to cheer up Homura.

[X] Chat with Homura and Madoka for a bit, then go to the danmaku area.

Better to have Homura have some extra rest. Still not sure what had happened so far to her and consider her mood swings, untill she stabilize a bit more better, let her rest.

Less a matter of resting. Homura is hurting because she killed one Madoka doomed to die to save another Madoka from her fate.

She's, from my read, in need of a distraction. I'd probably remove her from Madoka if I wanted to let her heal, because every time she looks up and sees Madoka she remembers the one she killed.
Except she'd probably witch out right there too.

[X] Bring in the specialist. Introduce Homura to Nanoha and Fate.

You walk forward, making sure to pick up the Grief Seed when you reach it, as Ilya's conversation falters - Homura's plan after meeting you was to return to her room - and start talking to Homura yourself, asking how she's been the past few days she's been here, how she likes the mansion, if there are any problems she's been having, and the like. You keep track of her answers, of course, but you're paying more attention to how she's feeling right now. "Would you mind letting me talk to Nanoha and Fate?" An affirmative emotion sweeps through your head - a curious feeling, coming from outside your own mind. It almost tickles.

"Flandre-chan? Is something wrong?" Fortunately, Nanoha's response comes while you're talking. Keeping track of two people talking at the same time is a bit tricky, even if only one is verbal, and even if you have Headless's help.

"Not wrong, exactly. But there's someone here - the third person I'd invited, that didn't show up when the others did. She's having some problems, I think, and I know you and Fate are supposed to be relaxing and having fun, but I also think you're the best people to talk to her. If she agrees, would you be willing to come see her?" Nanoha's response is almost immediate.

"Of course! If there's something I can do to help I'd love to!"

"If she doesn't want to see us right now, let her know we can see her whenever she's ready," Fate adds. Homura frowns as a smile spreads across your face.

"Thank you. Ah, just a moment …." You take a breath and soften your smile. "Ah, Homura … would you want to talk to someone about things?" She stiffens and sits up straight, pulling slightly away from Madoka, and glares at you.

"… Homura-chan?" Homura flinches, and Madoka shakes her head. "No, no, I meant - um, we're all here for you, but … wouldn't it be easier to talk about some things with a stranger?" Madoka has nothing but concern and worry on her face, and Homura's stern expression dissolves into one of hopelessness.

"… Who - what …?" She takes several breaths, trying to steady herself, but you cut her off.

"They're humans, from Lulu's world. They're very nice - even after fighting seriously with me, they were willing to talk and be polite right away." You tap your lips and start to look up at the sky, but Homura turns her head and clutches the ring with one hand. After a moment, she nods, almost imperceptibly.

"I'll … meet them. I don't know about … about …." She screws her eyes shut, tensing, and you glance at her Soul Gem as Madoka puts one hand on her shoulder, but it seems safe - hardly even a bubble.

"That's fine. I'll bring them here, okay?" She nods and you smile at Lulu as she gives you a thumbs-up. "Would you mind telling her a bit more about Nanoha and Fate while I get them? And could I borrow Sella and Leysritt for a quick errand?" Lulu nods quickly and moves to sit next to Homura, but Ilya frowns.

"I don't mind, but …." She trails off as your eyes flicker to Madoka and you rub your stomach - they've been out here, so they probably haven't had anything to eat. Certainly none of the good things like desserts. Her face lights up and she nods. "Of course, of course." You hop forward and give her a hug, and after she lets go she turns to listen to Lulu's explanation of the two mages. "Ah, Homura - do you want me to tell them anything about you?" She looks down at her lap.

"… If you want," she finally says, and you nod. You won't tell them too much; it won't take that long for you to take them here, after all, and you don't want to get something wrong that will give them the wrong idea. You set the Grief Seed down on the table next to the bench and nod at Madoka.

"Nanoha, Fate, I'll be there in a few minutes. She agreed to meet you, at least." You skip out of the hedge maze and look at the assembled maid brigade. "Sella, Leysritt, would you mind coming with me? Ilya said it was alright." The twin homunculi bow, either trusting you or having already been told to listen by Ilya, and Satsuki starts to join you. "Ah, Satsuki, why don't you stay and keep Sayaka company? You've gotten to know each other, right?" They both blush a little, and you grin. "Right, so keep talking, okay? We'll be right back." Satsuki nods hesitantly and bows as you walk away rapidly. It's not exactly running, but a quick-moving, ground-eating pace for nobles in a hurry who can't run for reasons of decorum. You could fly or run … but this is just more fun! You slow down as you approach the ballroom. "Have you two and Satsuki actually eaten anything tonight?"

"We have not, but Leysritt and I are fine," Sella says, and you nod.

"I believe you, and Satsuki doesn't need to eat normal food, but Sayaka would probably feel weird if she's the only one eating. So … some things for her and you three, and then some things for Homura and Madoka. Light foods, I think - nothing that would qualify as a real meal. And some desserts." Leysritt sweeps ahead of you to open the door, and the two maids slip away as you head toward Nanoha and Fate's table. Agito looks up at you worriedly.

"Is she okay? Did something happen here, or -" You raise your hands placatingly and she stops talking. You turn to Nanoha and Fate as they start to stand up.

"I'd like to wait until Sella and Leysritt come back; I don't think Homura and Madoka have eaten yet. Really, I'd have liked to bring them inside, but I think that she'd have more problems that way. And I'm really sorry about this, and thank you!" You bow deeply, and Fate looks quite embarrassed as Nanoha chuckles.

"Why don't you tell us a bit about this person?" Your expression clears and you think for a moment.

"… Her name is Akemi Homura. For various reasons, she's older than she looks - about seven years older, I think. She's … very stubborn; dedicated; single-minded." You hesitate, then shrug. "She was trying to save someone, when we met her, and she's had to do it alone. Maybe that's changed, but -" Nanoha nods and stands up.

"I think I understand. If you're asking, though, Homura-chan must be hurting, though, right?" You look at her for a moment, then sigh. Vita scowls at you, but you shake your head.

"She has a friend with her right now, Madoka. She talks like you do." Nanoha cocks her head to the side, confused, and you shake your head again. Leysritt walks up, carrying a serving platter and showing it to you for inspection. You smile and nod appreciatively. "Thank you, Leysritt. And Sella is - ah, then if you would be so kind as to follow me?" Everyone gets up, even Vita. Well, you can have her and Agito wait outside the maze for a while …. You pass Sella as she finishes with her platter, setting several glasses next to two pitchers. "Ah, thank you, Sella. I didn't even think about that." She merely nods, however - no easily flustered maid for you this time. Agito holds the door for everyone as they follow you through the mansion.

"You mentioned that Homura is trying to save someone? What does she do?" You nod at Fate.

"Mm. She's … mm, I believe she classifies herself as a 'magical girl'. It's a bit complicated, though, so you should ask her or Madoka about it." No doubt that particular bit of life cycle is part of what's bothering her, and you click your tongue. "Ah, and she has a small, egg-shaped container with her. Please keep an eye on it - it should be purple, but if it starts turning black and oily, she'll need to use a Grief Seed to take care of it. Just let her calm down if that happens."

"… Is she dangerous?" You glance back as Vita growls a question. Nanoha frowns at her.

"I don't think she wants to be. I think if something goes wrong then she'll try to run instead of trying to fight. But if you're just asking if she is dangerous - yes, she is. And I'm going to ask that you and Agito stay outside the maze until she feels well enough to meet more people." Neither Vita nor Agito are happy about that, of course, but you're not going to let something like that change your mind. You step outside and start walking toward the hedge maze. Why did she choose to wait there? Yes, it's a place where she can be relatively safe from other people, especially with Sayaka at the entrance … but the parallels with a Witch's Barrier are pretty obvious. Did she not think about them, or is she more aware of them than you'd thought? And if she is starting to think of herself as a Witch ….

Sayaka frowns at the extra members of your group, and then her eyes widen as Leysritt unfolds the legs of the platter she's carrying and sets it down. "Ah, ah, it's okay! Really! I -" You waggle your finger at her.

"You should at least try some of it, especially since Leysritt brought it al the way out here." She suddenly look embarrassed and guilty, but nods, and you pat her head patronizingly. As she scowls, you grin and turn away, taking the platter from Sella. Vita glares darkly at you - after all, you're taking her charges away from her - but you nod to her and Agito. "Nanoha, Fate, if you could follow me?" You sweep into the maze and the mages follow you. "Ah, and before I forget - it seems my sister gave them the dresses they're wearing, so don't blame them for how they look, okay? Unless Homura's transformed, anyway." Ilya meets you outside the entrance to the center - a final guardian before the boss room.

"I thought that since I don't know them, I shouldn't get in the way too much," she says, and you look at the platter irritatedly - there's no way you can shift it so you're only carrying it with one hand without dropping it.

"… Give me a moment to set it down and then I'm going to hug you," you say, but she shakes her head as a smile creeps across her face.

"No, no, it's -" She breaks off as you slip past her. Lulu looks unhappy, and Homura seems to have closed up, but Madoka only seems resigned. Lulu's expression brightens when she sees you, however, and Madoka looks quite embarrassed.

"Oh, no, that's alright …." She trails off and grabs the Grief Seed as you start to set the platter on the table. Homura frowns at you, and you curtsy.

"I thought, since you didn't seem to come inside, perhaps you might be a little hungry. This is Takamachi Nanoha, and this is Fate Harlaown." The mages nod and smile as you introduce them. "Akemi Homura and Kaname Madoka."

"Um, how do you do … um, Takamachi-san, Ha- Harla-" Nanoha squats in front of Madoka and smiles.

"Ah, Madoka-chan, why don't you just call us Nanoha and Fate?" Fate nods, but most of her attention is focused on Homura. Homura, for her part, seems more nervous than anything else right now.

"Na-Nanoha-san. Fate-san." Madoka smiles weakly and nudges Homura, who shakes herself.

"… Good evening," she says quietly, eyes flickering toward you before looking back at Nanoha. "What … why are you doing this?" Madoka looks worried, almost panicky, and Lulu winces as she sneaks around to your side. Ilya slips in as well, and - true to your word - you wrap your arms around her in a silent tackle.

"Well, Flandre asked us to, because she thought we might be able to help you. If we'd seen you before she could tell us about you, though, we would have asked if there was anything we could do anyway." Nanoha nods and sits on Homura's other side, seemingly unintentionally making the girl scoot into Madoka, who can't move without bumping into Fate - and going by the slightly distant look in her eyes, Madoka is being talked telepathically by someone.

"If someone needs help, I want to be there to help that person. Hehe. You should talk to Vita-chan about how nosy I am." Homura still looks uncomfortable, and you glance at Lulu, wondering if the three of you should go outside the maze right now or wait a bit to see how Homura handles the intrusion.

"Flandre." You blink.

"Vita? Is something wrong?" You consider letting her know that Nanoha is alright - but she's not obsessive about it, and they haven't been separated nearly long enough to make her worry.

"Maybe. Those bird-girls are coming over here. Aya, I think you said her name was?" You frown and have your clones scan their areas of responsibility - but the tengu are nowhere to be found, except the man they were pestering, who is studying the alcoholic drinks. When searching for something to distract them, you do see that Yuuka is standing near the danmaku arena, watching the black-dressed woman with the strange hair. … Given how frequently you've seen her, maybe you should figure out who she is ….

"Aya is the good one. The other one is … I don't remember, but she's a nuisance." That said … how to handle them? There isn't much that's going on in the party, and they're doubtless here now because they saw you moving around so mysteriously.

You sigh; you probably should have considered that whisking half your guests away from the party would result in something like this, but now that it has, all you can do is reduce the damage. "I'll be right out." Vita grunts in acknowledgement and you cough gently to attract everyone's attention. "Excuse me, but I need to deal with something now." You curtsy as Homura's expression locks up again, and Nanoha smiles.

"Don't be too hard on them, okay?" You wonder if she knows what you're going to do … probably. Ilya and Lulu follow you as you withdraw back into the maze.

"A big problem?" You hesitate, then shake your head.

"Not really, but I don't want reporters getting in the way if Homura isn't feeling well. Aya isn't too bad, but she can still be pushy if she thinks it'll get her a story."

"But if you drive them away, won't that make them even more interested in getting information?" You grin at Ilya.

"It might, although if I did it right they would at least leave her alone for tonight. But, no, I'm going to distract them with something else at the danmaku field." You check with your clone again, but your target is still there. Ilya frowns. "It looks like there's a match going on right now, too, so if you want to watch, Lulu -"

"Yes!" You smile and pat her head before glancing at Ilya.

"Ilya? Do you want to come, too, or are you going to wait with Vita and Sayaka?" She gets a mischievous look in her eyes and pretends to ponder the question before shaking he head.

"I'll stay here, I think. If someone needs something retrieved, I can send Leys or Sella instead of making a guest do it." You tousle her hair, ignoring her squawk of protest.

"Well, Satsuki will be staying, too, unless she and Sayaka don't like each other, so you can send her, too." Ilya nods as you exit the maze, and you look around for Aya and her charge. They're both dressed in long kimonos instead of their usual skirts - patterned black and white for Aya, and a wild assortment of colorful flowers decorate the one. You nod to Vita and she huffs while Lulu and Agito step away for a slightly private conversation. You glance at your servant and Sayaka. "Getting along well?" Satsuki blushes at your grin but nods.

"Yes, Flandre-sama. Are we leaving now?" You shake your head.

"Well, I'll be taking them away from here so they don't bother anyone, but it's fine if you stay." She tenses, probably unsure whether she'll be scolded by Sakuya if she lets you go by yourself, and you wave gently to calm her down. "Stay, Satsuki. Enjoy yourself." She relaxes and nods energetically as you turn to face the tengu. Aya already has her notebook in hand.

"Ah, Flandre! So, what are you doing here, away from the main gathering, and with a strange maid? Is this related to the disturbance earlier? Is there something inside the hedge maze? Is that where everyone keeps coming from?" She smiles kindly as she fires off questions. It's much different from the way she usually handles interviews, but those are also normally planned out ahead of time. She shake your head firmly.

"There's nothing for you to see here, Aya." You don't smile, and Aya frowns, but when the other tengu holds up a cell phone, her leg lashes out, almost too fast for you to see, and the other girl starts hopping on one foot, holding the other and glaring at Aya. Aya leans over to pick up the fallen phone.

"Ayayaya~, Hatate. If you want to dance, I'm sure there'll be someone waiting for you after the concert." The tengu sighs dreamily, then shakes her head and snatches the phone away from Aya and glares at her. Aya turns back to you. "But, since we came all this way, maybe we could do a quick interview with your new acquaintances? We've already talked with Nanoha, but …." Her eyes flicker over your guests even as you shake your head.

"Actually, if you want a scoop, Aya, there is something that had Reimu worried." Aya freezes, expressions of wariness, excitement, and greed warring over her face. The other tengu - Hatate, you remind yourself - leans toward you and holds her phone up to you. A whirring click sounds, not unlike Aya's camera, and you turn a frosty expression on her. "Why don't you come see it? It's over by the danmaku field." Aya frowns; you're obviously trying to get them away from something interesting, which is tugging at her reporter instincts … but it's also you trying to get them away, and she's not stupid. Her companion, on the other hand ….

"Why don't you tell us what it is? It sounds like it could be interesting, but we know there's something going on here." A smile breaks out on your face - that's obviously a sign she wants to go! No one could possibly mistake it for something else. Your hand darts forward to latch onto her wrist, and she drops the phone again.

"I'm so glad you displayed such interest, Hatate, and I am overjoyed to escort you and Aya away from this dull and uninteresting location to one at which you can display your journalistic talents." She frowns at your false smile, and when she starts to yank her hand away, you squeeze. "Coming, Lulu?" You start walking, half-dragging the whimpering tengu as Aya mutters to herself and picks up the phone before following you.

"You said there's a match going on right now, right? Anyone I would know?" You frown at Lulu's question as she and Agito catch up to you and release Hatate - by now you're far away enough that Aya will make sure she comes along. Looking through your clone's eyes, you can tell that one of the duelists is the ice fairy, but the blonde girl in a black dress that is her opponent is … not Marisa. Hmm ….

"I don't think so. Not unless Ilya's told you about the fairies." Lulu shakes her head, although Agito frowns a little - probably remembering all the times you called her a fairy. "Then I'll talk about them when we get there. Unless what had Reimu bothered really isn't interesting - then we could ask Aya, since she's probably interviewed both of them before." Hatate scowls at the preening Aya, who then skips forward and flips open her notebook.

"Ah, Lulu, was -"

"Lutecia," you and Lulu say at the same time. Aya scribbles something out in her notebook.

"Lutecia. Do you mind if I ask a few questions while we walk?" Lulu agrees, and Aya motions for Hatate to pay attention as she conducts a very basic interview. You pay some attention, mostly just to keep track of anything important that is said, but they don't have time to get into important details before the duel comes into view and Lulu gasps in delight. It's not a terribly exciting duel - neither of them are good with danmaku, and Cirno seems to be a pretty bad flier for some reason, but she runs ahead to get a closer look anyway. Illya's group is still there, of course, and … it looks like that Miyu girl is taking notes on something. Bazett seems to have adjusted to her dress, however, and stands guard sternly.

"So what's so special about this place? Low-class youkai and fairies playing at danmaku? How exciting." Aya looks around curiously as Hatate mocks your decision to take them here. Aya frowns at you.

"Something over here had Reimu worried? Or is it just Illyasviel's doubles?" You smile and shake your head.

"Who's running the dueling area?" Hatate shrugs as Aya takes another look.

"It's Patchouli, like al- …." You cock your head to the side as a nearly-unique phenomenon appears before you: Aya, speechless, and scared. She even drops her notebook.

"… No, I'm serious. I don't know who she is, but Reimu was really upset when she saw her." Aya's fingers tremble, and when she grips her hands together, it only gets worse. Before you can really start worrying, however, she goes completely still and swivels her head to peer straight at you.

"What is she doing here?" You blink as Aya reasserts control over herself - this isn't the bubbly Aya you know, this is the powerful tengu who's twice your age and potentially a match for your sister. Hatate swallows and shuffles back several steps, and you shrug.

"I don't know. She was with my sister's simulacrum, and they were getting along pretty well. If you want to ask her, she's … in the entry hall, talking with a male tiger youkai." Aya's head bobs once, then swivels back around to stare at the unknown woman - who looks up, smiles, and waves. Aya shivers, and when she looks back at you, she's back to her usual self.

"Ah, well, we'll go talk to her, then. Take care, Flandre!" She spins and walks quickly toward the entrance, Hatate following along behind her. You look back at the strange woman, then at Lulu, who's talking with Illya about the duel. You did say you'd help explain what's going on, but ….

What do you do?

[ ] Talk to the strange woman and find out why Aya freaked out.

[ ] Go to Lulu and help explain the duel.

[X] Go to Lulu and help explain the duel.

Time to chill and help Lulu enjoy the intricacies of danmaku, no need to get into another mess.
