[X] Let Remilia handle the Lunarians, if there's anything wrong.
-[X] Ask Sakuya to find the oni Chieftain and bring him up here so you can get matters settled.

Lunarians are more political. Remi can take that.
Oni respect strength, and we got that, so we got a better chance

Never read Silent Sinner in Blue, so I know nothing about what's going on with the Lunarians right now.

I'm curious as to what the Oni are trying to pull.

The third surprise, and the one that Reimu seems incensed about, is the person she's talking garrulously with - light lavender hair done up with a yellow bow, and wearing a not-quite-formal red dress, with a peace-bonded sword at her side.

Oh shit, what is she doing here?

Yorihime, you're not supposed to be off the moon! You'll catch the EARTH TAINT!

...

Where is her sister

So, because my life isn't turned around enough - if when I get back from work tomorrow, one vote has a considerable lead over any other, I will strongly consider updating early, around noon or 1 PM, my time. If I don't, the update will likely not go up until 8 or 9. Similarly, I'm not sure when the Sunday update is going to go up, but it will probably be sometime after six.

Choose wisely:
Updating Kaguya's rig, because while a working computer built entirely out of bamboo is a technical masterpiece, it has zero space and Kaguya's been trying to download the first episode of I Love Lunarian Lucy since 1967. If she doesn't get something better, her plans for livestreaming to the Lunar Capital are going to fail.
SHE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU
'Yorihime' is actually a hollowed-out meatsuit, and Toyohime shrank herself so she can pilot it like some bizarre Men in Black reference.
Confusedly wondering why she's on a spaceship with Roman Torchwick, Ian Graeme, Prince Roger MacClintock, Alma Wade, and many others as they commit war crimes upon the treecat population of Sphinx.

Not like we know why they're here. What does Reimu expect from Flandre? To be as political as Remilia?

Also, rude, shoving guests aside. Especially when it's Suika of all people asking a favor.

If it escalates to a spell card duel, bonus points because our friends want to watch one!

Ahh, Suika. Suika the perpetually drunk, the Oni Who Shattered the Moon. What does it say about me that my favorite characters from Touhou are Suika, Flandre, and Seija?
Anyway, we... probably shouldn't let Suika get into a fight around here. Normal Oni are already pretty nonsensical, and Suika was one of the four strongest.

You try putting the shrieking girl and the Lunarians out of your mind - if there's anything wrong, Remilia can deal with it now that she's here. As for Suika and Reimu … you turn toward Ilya and give her and the others a strained smile. "Please, excuse me for a few moments." Ilya nods and steps back; Lulu looks at you, confused, but lets Ilya gently push her away from you. You turn back to the impatient Reimu and shrug. "I don't know, Reimu. I think she's showing a guest around, but since I'm not a mind-reader and I don't even know who that woman is, I can't even begin to guess why she's here apart from an invitation. If you want to know, why don't you ask her or Remilia?" Reimu stares at you, mouth slackly hanging open, then shakes her head. She shoots a confused, frustrated look at Remilia and the other girl, then looks back at you.

"You really don't know who she is or what she's doing here?" Flames rise from the white-haired girl as she stands up, sending her chair clattering to the floor, and her friend tries to get her to calm down. It looks like Kaguya is grinning at the reaction - but, as you'd expected, Remilia is already moving toward the disturbance. Oddly enough, so is her guest … but you focus your attention on Reimu.

"No." That said, you dismiss her from your mind and turn back to Suika. She plays with the gourd, spinning it around nervously, squeezing it against her stomach, switching it from hand to hand. You reach out to hold her shoulders and guide her toward an unoccupied table. "Sakuya."

"Yes, Lady Flandre?" You get Suika to sit down, but keep holding her wrist. Several tricky youkai can escape even the tightest of prisons if they aren't kept hold of, after all.

"You know where the oni chieftain is, right? Bring him here." Sakuya looks surprised, even worried, and Suika makes a squeaking sound that rightly belongs in the throat of something tiny and furry.

"Er … Lady Flandre, he should still -"

"Bring. Him. Here." Sakuya swallows nervously, but her face disappears as she bows, and when she stands up she's back to her normal expressionless executioner's face. Then she vanishes. You watch your sister's intervention - she marches up to the fiery witch and her friend and gestures for them to withdraw a bit, and then starts simply talking to them. Curious … even more bizarre is what happens to the Lunarians. Remilia ignored them, but her guest begins lecturing them, and they both seem utterly shocked at her presence, looking wildly back and forth from her to Remilia. Eirin even stands up to examine the girl more closely.

"Um, um - are … you're not going to do anything … um …." You look down at the visibly-terrified Suika, your own face completely blank, masking the frustration and irritation you feel - this was supposed to be time for you to enjoy with your friends, not deal with some cowardly oni thieves!

"You asked for my help dealing the oni. They will be dealt with." For some reason, that doesn't reassure her, and she slumps in her chair. Several minutes later - Remilia finishes talking to her targets, but it looks like the Lunarians are only partway through receiving their lecture - a heavy tread announces the arrival of the oni chieftain, and you turn to watch him enter. The massive figure is easily taller than Berserker, with short metal-capped horns jutting forward over his eyes, dressed in a sumptuous black and red kimono with silver trim. Even his long red hair is neatly braided - indeed, the only reason one would consider him 'barbaric' is the fact that he isn't wearing shoes, but his toenails are properly trimmed and painted purple and green. His bright red eyes narrow as he sees Suika, but when he stops several meters away, it's you he focuses on.

"I am Hidetsugu," he says, his deep bass voice rumbling your bones and easily audible to everyone in the room. "You have dragged me away from important negotiations. I hope, for your sake, that this summons is worth my time." Unintimidated, you finally release Suika and give the oni a short bow.

"I am Flandre Scarlet; this is Suika Ibuki. She has approached me expressing concerns over the safety of her drinking gourd; while I trust her, particularly her judgment of oni-kind, I believe it would be better to have you personally settle the matter - it would be poor form to dismiss someone who is innocent, after all." Hidetsugu glares at you and breathes deeply, exhaling yellow smoke that stinks of pepper.

"You … you called me away from that - for this?!" Unthreatened, you don't flinch.

"Are you afraid of your own retinue that much?" His face purples at your insult, but before he can say anything more, you follow it with something far more vicious. "Or do you not wish to involve yourself because they are following your orders to seize the gourd?" For a long moment, absolutely nothing happens - and then Suika starts gurgling, eventually sputtering some sort of absurd apology. Your sister starts to approach you, but is held back by her guest. And Hidetsugu's face drains of blood before he takes a step back - and throws a tantrum. He throws back the upper part of his kimono, letting it hang from the belt and leaving his upper body bare, then stamps about, iron feet splintering the wooden floor. His hair comes undone, a fiery mane forming a halo around a grey face with bloody eyes. He roars unintelligibly as he dances about, swinging his long arms wildly; by now, many of your own guests are considering intervening: Fate, Nanoha, and Vita all hold their Devices ready; Deis sits motionless, fingers hooked into claws; Archer has his bow out and an arrow ready; Zest stands between the oni and his family, spear in hand. Even Satsuki is staring at the raging oni, trembling but clenching her fists anyway. Only Ilya watches calmly, without any outward sign of being ready for combat. You stand still, unimpressed by the animalistic threat display and by his physical changes, even as they culminate in his height more than doubling; rather than a civilized man, perhaps even someone handsome, what finishes the ritual dance is a massive, ugly brute, with reddish grey skin, a potbelly, and fingers like clubs. As he turns to face the entrance, the sole focus of all the attention in the room as his howls fade, his attendants line up to face him. For a few moments as he surveys them, all is silence - even the Prismrivers' concert stops briefly before picking back up. Then Hidetsugu snarls at the other oni, speaking unintelligibly and dyeing the air grey, at one point throwing one arm back toward you in a wild gesture. Once he finishes, two thirds of the oni drop to their knees, planting their faces on the floor. Three stand still, looking terrified, while the twelfth holds his hands up beseechingly.

"I knew, yet said nothing," he says. Hidetsugu stands utterly still for a long moment, then lashes out with one gnarled, razor-taloned finger, and symbols burn themselves on the faces of the standing oni.

"Go. Return. If I return before you, eternal exile will be far preferable to what your fate shall be." The marked oni bow deeply, then turn and leave the room, somehow managing to keep from running outright. The other eight rise, and after their leader nods, they too leave the room. The only oni in the room once more, Hidetsugu's head lolls back and he exhales, returning to his more pleasant form. Civilized again, he replaces his kimono but leaves his hair unbound. Without another word, or even a backward glance, he walks out of the ballroom. You close your eyes.

You've done it again. He said he was still negotiating; that means that Remilia is still in that meeting, and you've made her life more difficult. You've disrupted the party. The 'Remilia' that's here isn't her, but a simulacrum, a magical copy - her 'hostess'. The one you should have sent Suika to in the first place, so you wouldn't ruin the party for everyone, wouldn't cause a scene, wouldn't disrupt delicate negotiations. You should just go back down to the basement and let everyone else enjoy themselves. Smoldering flames of anger - not hate, not fury or wrath, just clean and pure anger - flare and die inside you as your emotions twist.

A hand touches yours, and then someone else's touches your other hand. Ilya and Lulu. Reluctantly, you open your eyes - Lulu looks worried, while Ilya looks reassuring. And from what your clone can see, Nanoha's group is heading toward you, too.

What do you do?

[ ] Go back to your room.
- [ ] Make sure Ilya and Lulu stay up here and have fun.

[ ] Hide:
- [ ] In Remilia's room.
- [ ] Somewhere deep in the mansion.
- [ ] The library.
- [ ] In the forest behind the mansion.

[ ] Just sit down for a while.

[ ] Other?

[X] Just sit down for a while.

We can't abandon our guests, or make them feel obligated to leave the party to find us.

We made a faux pas. So be it. We own up and resume entertaining our guests to the best of our ability.

Ah dammit. One problem we really should have dealt with ourselves, it seems.

[X] Just sit down for a while.

... I just noticed that nobody in Gensokyo or the TSAB knows that we can caress or squeeze an 'eye'. We could deal with pretty much any enemy without killing them (and without the explosion). In a way, that's even more terrifying.

Wonder what was so important. The Oni washed their hands of Gensokyo Politics when they moved to the Underground. To the point that, as is repeatedly mentioned in Immaterial and Missing power, "Everyone knows there aren't any Oni in Gensokyo." They're such a none entity that several characters straight up didn't believe Suika when she said she was an Oni.

Even Patchouli's library has almost no actual information regarding Oni, to the point where she ends up trying to develop bean magic because Setsubun was literally all she could find regarding Oni.

I miss dial-up. At least that worked …. I wish I weren't so irritated right now, I might be able to come up with better phrasing.

Still, if he was in a meeting... Well, sure would have been nice to change the plan once we knew he was busy, you know?
Yes, I could have done that, but I generally don't like to make updates that say, "This is a pretty bad idea, do you really want to do it?" I mean, I don't know why getting involved was bandwagoned in the first place - yes, getting involved would have made sense if Flan were hosting, but no one voted for being the host.

As far as probably anyone knew, it was pretty much about getting some to back of and just telling their boss some of his people were being shitty guests. Especially when Suika herself wasn't dealing with them to start with. I think no one expected it was literally a nuclear answer to the problem when Flandre getting involved physically usually is that option.

As far as I see it, it's pretty much an issue of knowldge Flandre has IC but that we did not have.
