And then possibly having a fight to the death because he has the demon hunter mindset.

Doubly cruel. That's why i said we should dodge that bullet.

[X] Take Satsuki somewhere more secluded.

In case he noticed our presence and came to hunt a 'demon', a clone can deal with him non-lethally while we take Satsuki away.

[X] Take Satsuki somewhere more secluded.

You mull it over for a moment, then carefully pick up Satsuki. Nanoha and Hayate are from here, and that means powerful mages could be here. This boy might not be one, but if he's subtle, he could do something that could hurt Satsuki before you figure it out and kill him. Moving won't necessarily prevent that, of course, but if he came this close to attack, then he'll probably have to follow you if he is hostile - and, if nothing else, he'll know that you know he's here and that you aren't interested in fighting. One of your clones stays behind to keep an eye on him, but the other two fly off with you as you look for a comfortable, out-of-the-way spot to set Satsuki down. That's also nearby - if you're going to fly halfway across the city, you might as well just back to Amy's, after all ….

You settle down on the roof of a building complex a few minutes' walk from the school. Satsuki shifts and murmurs sleepily, and you let her clutch your arm tightly. The boy at the school doesn't seem to have noticed your departure - he simply walks around to a spot near a sports court and starts throwing a bouncing ball against the wall, catching it as it rebounds and immediately sending it back. As he plays his game, you look down at Satsuki and frown. It's not impossible to sleep during the night - you do it frequently, after all - but her quick collapse into slumber could mean something is wrong with her. Maybe it's just her body failing to adjust properly after so much time on the Bureau's ships, and maybe it's a defense mechanism of some kind, but it might also mean she's sick … and you don't have Patchouli or Remilia on hand to examine her. And the Bureau won't have the knowledge and expertise to know what - or even if - something's wrong.

Twenty minutes later, after Satsuki relaxes into a more natural sleep, another young man enters the school. He wears rather richer clothes and carries a small bag, and instead of jumping the gate, he simply unlocks it and walks in, locking it behind him. Your clone turns invisible and moves closer as he approaches the boy in blue.

"Oi! Catch!" He takes a small can out of the bag and tosses it underhand toward the boy, who catches both it and the ball simultaneously before turning to scowl at the newcomer.

"You're late. And haven't I always told you I hate coffee?" The newcomer laughs and shakes his head.

"So don't drink it, then. And I got held up. Souka-chan came by to talk about some stuff, and then the twins almost got me in trouble. Those two need a better hobby." He looks around, focusing on the two large buildings. "So, rooftop stargazing, or just roadside bums tonight?" He catches the can awkwardly, and the boy in blue stretches.

"Dunno yet. Been feeling … weird here. Like something's watching me." Your eyes widen - could he really have felt your clone's presence? The newcomer laughs and shakes his head.

"You're just stressed. Maybe you should get married - not to my sister, of course. Even if it would give my old man the final kick to get him in the ground, he'd probably forbid it, and you know what she's like." He fishes another can out of the bag and tosses it to the boy before opening the first can and guzzling it.

"Canned tea, huh? Yeesh, for a rich boy you have no class. You sound like my dad, except he's already got someone he wants me to marry. Youngest of an old bodyguard friend of his. Runs a café now, a few towns over."

"Ha! She's probably some dumpy girl who cooks well, huh?" Surprisingly, the boy in blue shudders instead and looks around carefully.

"No, actually. Only met her once, and she's really good-looking - better than your sister, probably," he says, ignoring the other boy's snort. "Thing is … she scares me. She's usually out of the country doing something else, but the one time I met her last year … it was like every cell in my body was screaming to run away." The other boy stares at him, snorts again, and then chugs another can of coffee.

"… So what you're telling me is that you're chasing after my sister, who you aren't particularly attracted to, because you're afraid of the girl your father wants you to marry? Haa~ Well, I guess you can't argue with generations of assassin talent." The boy in blue pegs him in the forehead with the ball.

"Hey, I like your sister plenty. She's quiet, cute, intelligent - perfect Yamato Nadeshiko. The only downside would be having you for a brother-in-law." The other boy throws one of the full cans at him, and he deflects it midair with the ball before laughing. "Come on, Shiki. Let's go find a shop or something and get something besides coffee to fill your stomach. You've got some woes, too, right?" The newcomer deflates and fishes yet another can out of his bag, but you stop concentrating on them.

"Flandre-sama? What … where are we?" You pat her head gently.

"A boy came into the school, so I thought it would be better to move instead of possibly having him see us by accident. Then another boy came in, and they're talking right now." She looks thoughtful.

"Um, does one of the boys have red hair? And the other black hair with glasses?" You shake your head.

"Nope. The first boy has black hair but no glasses; the other has light brown hair." She frowns, then sighs and stretches.

"… It's nothing, Flandre-sama." You look at her, then meaningfully back toward the school, but she shakes her head. "Really, it's fine. Um … do you think we could get something to eat? Human food, I mean. I just … I don't know." You nod; it's not like you have a problem with the request, so much as the place. Eating somewhere around here carries the risk of her being seen and recognized, especially since she'll have to remove her hood … but you're pretty sure what she wants is to be surrounded by people again, so asking her to wait until you get back to Amy's probably wouldn't be helpful. Hmm ….

What do you do?

[ ] Let her decide where to eat.

[ ] Have your invisible clone ask the two boys where a good restaurant is.

[ ] Find a café or something near the train station.

[ ] Other?

Is that a reference to the show Nanoha was originally a spin-off of? I've never actually seen it, but I vaguely remember her family is assassins or something.

Kinda? If I remember correctly, the Takamachi's were still bodyguards/assassins of sorts in MGLN. It just never really came up since the focus was never on them. That said, it did originate with Triangle Heart.

Nanoha is taken. She already has Fate and an adopted kid. Besides, in this case, you really are better off going after someone else.

That said, I know one of these two is probably Shiki minus his mystic eye killers, but who's the other guy?

One of the differences between Triangle and Nanoha is that Nanoha's father is still alive in Nanoha - he was (very briefly) shown in an ICU in a flashback in the first season, while in the original game he died.

Nanoha doesn't have Vivio in Quest.

Funny think is that they are BOTH Shiki, only one is Nanaya and the other is Tohno, original host for Roya. Funnily, Nanaya is obviously engaged by their parents to Nanoha, and yes, he has good mystical senses if he feels how powerful and dangerous she is. PS: Satsuki obviously doesn't know, Nanaya doesn't need glasses if his Mystic Eyes are inactive.

You're jumping the gun a bit there. There's no mention of an engagement at all, just pressure from his dad. And there's a couple places it would have been natural to say 'engaged' were it so.

Your parents saying "you should marry X" is not at all the same as being formally engaged.

Curry House Messiaen
[X] Let her decide where to eat.

You nod and Satsuki relaxes. "You'll have to pick the place, though." She frowns thoughtfully for a moment, then nods again.

"Mm. I think I know a place …." Her expression falls and you cock your head to the side. "A place I wouldn't normally go, and … probably none of the people I would know well." She clambers to her feet and you recall your clones - you shouldn't need them anymore.

"A good place?" She shrugs and you grab onto her to get back down to the ground.

"Mmm … depends on your tastes, I guess. I … don't really like most of what they have, but Dai Teito is probably a place we shouldn't go. That's a yakiniku restaurant nearby. It's not the best, but it is inexpensive, so a lot of students go there." You nod and follow along as she starts walking down the street. It's good that she's thinking about whether or not she's likely to be seen by someone she knows - or that might think they recognize her - although you do hope she's not picking a bad restaurant just for that. "I mean, Messiaen's not bad. It's just … I don't like most of the food they serve." You give her a look, but she has her head down and doesn't see it. Still, 'most' is not 'all', so there must be something there she likes. You follow her through the streets, back into the business area, keeping an eye on her as she looks around, half-looking and half-remembering, and eventually you reach your destination: Curry House Messiaen. She smiles apologetically, and you frown slightly at the strange smell, but then you shrug and gesture for her to lead the way.

"Welcome to Messiaen! Will it be just the two of you tonight?" The man's Japanese is strangely accented, but Satsuki simply bows.

"Yes, sir." He works at his register for a moment, and when he looks up Satsuki already has the Bureau credit card ready for him. He smiles and nods appreciatively before taking it for a few seconds. He gives it back and smiles broadly.

"Thank you. Ah, could you show them to a booth?" The server bows and sweeps her arm for you to follow. "Enjoy your stay." Satsuki takes off her jacket and bows back to him.

"This way, please." You and Satsuki follow her to a relatively secluded booth and sets down two menus. "Would you prefer that I give you some time to go over the menu?" Satsuki smiles and nods.

"Yes, please." The server bows and withdraws, and Satsuki sighs as she studies the menu. You look it over as well, wondering what Indian food tastes like. "Um, a lot of stuff here has garlic as a spice, Flandre-sama." You smile widely at her, then look back at the menu. Lots of vegetarian dishes, some bread, lots of curry dishes. "… This was Ciel-senpai's favorite restaurant. She really liked curry." You keep your face expressionless as Satsuki reminisces. "… I'm sorry for bringing you here, Flandre-sama. It's just … I didn't really get it. That people I know - they might not be here. Ciel-senpai - she isn't here, won't ever come here." You hesitate, then shake your head slowly. Whoever she is in this world, the circumstances that brought her to Japan probably can't happen, or else they would have already. "Do … do you think that … Tohno-kun is here?" Her face reddens and she hunches her shoulders. "I'm sorry, Flandre-sama." You shake your head.

"It's alright, Satsuki. Let's have some food, relax, and then we'll see how you feel about things, okay?" She looks at you, then smiles hesitantly and nods. You look back at the menu and decide on a spiced chicken dish. The server returns and takes your orders - in addition to your chicken, Satsuki orders several pieces of bread and some kind of curry dish … and a glass of milk and a soda.

"Er … do you want something to drink, young miss? With tandoori chicken …." You scowl and look at Satsuki.

"Um, another glass of milk, please." She smiles apologetically and the server withdraws. You stick your tongue out at the retreating figure. "Now, Flandre-sama. Most people have trouble with spicy food when they're younger, and milk helps." You sigh.

"Bleh. Whatever." She laughs and you smile, then look around. The room isn't well-lit, but it's not too dark for humans to see well, and there are several other occupied tables - some couples, others with groups. Enough people to feel like the restaurant is occupied, but not so many to make it feel crowded. "… We can't stay too long, you know," you say, and Satsuki frowns. "It's going to rain soon. Not too soon, but maybe a couple hours."

"Oh," she says, relieved. "I thought you meant a lot sooner than that … um, how do you know?" You smile and wave upward.

"Looking at the sky, feeling the air. It's not perfect, but it's accurate enough for survival." It's not something you've had to rely on for a long time, but it's not a skill that vanishes entirely, and you have a very good memory. "I'll make sure you learn how, too." She smiles happily. Your food arrives while she's still daydreaming happily, and you grin at the server as you start eating your food, ignoring the milk and savoring the taste. It is hotter than you like … but there's also garlic, and enough to be noticeable even among the other flavors. Satsuki makes sure you have one of the pieces of bread, too.

"Hey, Flandre. Remember what your sister said about Tohno Shiki?" You keep the frown from your face at Headless's interruption. "Adopted, pure human. Do you want to tell Satsuki?" You can't stop the frown now, and Satsuki looks at you worriedly. Sure, you could tell her, but maybe she's actually starting to get over him ….
