The woman doesn't respond - at least not verbally. She simply hurtles toward you again. You need to get away from those gloves, and possibly her shoes; given what happened to you and how she meticulously put them on before fighting, they probably have something special going on. You throw yourself forward as well, running as low as you can without being able to fly to keep your balance, and spring forward, slightly to your right, just before she gets in range. Her right arm whips out and your hip cracks, but that's not much of a problem as you catch her other arm - it even helps you swing around behind her, thanks to it pushing you further sideways. She slides to a halt and thrashes her arm, trying to throw you off, but even though you're slower than you're used to, you're still blisteringly fast, and you scramble around to cling to her back.

Your claws gouge at her stomach and chest, tearing through her dark suit and scoring the flesh beneath so blood flows, and your wings lash out at her arms, flailing and piercing. The only sounds she makes are a few grunts, though, and you sling yourself a little farther up and sink your teeth into her left collarbone - not to feed or to kill, but simply in the desire to make her scream, or at least make some noise. Furious, you wrap your right arm around her throat, digging your left claw into her side to keep her from throwing you off. But what the woman does when she grabs your strangling arm isn't to try and get you away from her - she simply holds you … and then starts sprinting toward the door leading to the stairs. You don't realize what she's going to do until she's already turning to slam you against the concrete wall. Your teeth crunch through her collarbone at the colossal impact, and despite your slight daze you start to tear at her throat with your right hand. Before you can rake more than once, however, the woman's arms shoot across her body and she grabs your wings - and yanks them out of your back.

You hiss furiously and drive your left hand deeper into her side, splintering ribs, but the woman merely takes a few steps forward, then leaps back, slamming you into the wall again. And with your right arm no longer in physical contact with her throat, she grabs your wrist and flips you forward around her, ignoring the gaping wound your left hand makes in her side as she slams you first into the roof, shattering your legs, then the building covering the stairs, then the roof again, before skimming you along the roof. It's easy enough to ignore the additional pain, but what's irritating is that you can't see what she's doing until you stop rolling, and that doesn't really give you enough time to get away from the huge chunk of concrete hurtling your way, not with your mangled legs and no ability to fly. You make your best effort, but the debris clips your torso anyway, leaving you a ragged mess. You manage to keep track of the woman as you flop on the rooftop; she checks her side, then roughly probes her left shoulder. You're honestly surprised that she can even move around seemingly unhindered, much less actually use her left arm. Maybe she's only part human? You throttle the urge to giggle hysterically - surprising and delightful as it is, right now the woman is in better shape than you are, and you don't want the fight to be over just yet …. Still, after another moment of checking her injuries, the woman turns and stalks toward you.

What do you do?

[ ] Pretend to be hurt more than you are.

[ ] Grapple again! It worked pretty well, you just need to keep up the pressure.

[ ] Play keepaway; try to stay just out of her range so you can dart in and make your own attacks in response to hers.
- [ ] Focus on her left side, now that it's damaged.
- [ ] Wait for her to make a mistake or fall into a pattern you can use.

Seems like a good plan to keep our opponents morale above safe levels, and to make her underestimate us.

I feel like pretending to be hurt and trying to keep out of her reach are somewhat difficult to simultaneously pull off. We'd be better off playing dead and then making a strike when she came in to attack us, perhaps another grapple, perhaps something else. Because once we start dodging around at high speed she's not going to think we're that hurt.

I have the delightful mental image of Flan doing an extremely over-the-top and obvious Oh-no-I-am-injured scene finished by a very melodramatic collapse to the floor. Which she keeps ruining by frequently opening her eyes to see if her bemused opponent has fallen for it. (They have not.)

The woman is hurt, you're definitely hurt - but she can't know just how debilitating your injuries are, and you plan to capitalize on that. It is, unfortunately, frustratingly easy to pretend to be worse off than you actually are, especially since you can't fly. You flop ignominiously to the side and try to scrabble away from her, seemingly afraid of the apparently-unstoppable woman. A trail of blood marks your passage as you slow your healing; a necessary evil to preserve the illusion. There isn't anywhere to go on the rooftop, of course, but if you were as hurt as you seem to be, all you would be concerned about is escape. Fine details like 'where to?' aren't something you would be concerned with, and you jerk your head around frequently to keep an eye on your unrelenting pursuer, trying to keep what you hope is a suitably-terrified expression on your face.

She stops, frowning, and slowly lowers herself into a sprinter's stance. Are you too far for her to engage normally? You try to picture what kind of technique would require a stance like that - a rushing kick, perhaps, to more effectively strike you without further injuring her arm? You increase your rate of healing and feel the muscles form around your leg bones as the woman pushes off. You dig one claw into the rooftop and twist yourself around as your irritation with the woman grows - she moves slowly and surely when she isn't fighting, then breaks into a burst of high speed to launch her attacks. But she doesn't try to be menacing or anything, so it's just frustrating! It's like fighting a machine or something silly like that. You rise to newly-regrown feet and start to dash forward, but the woman isn't rushing toward you - she went up … and then she kicks off the air to dive toward you. And either she wasn't fooled by your attempted subterfuge or she has very good reflexes, because she hurtles down at you, rather than farther back or closer to her launching point.

The angle is bad, you're off-balance, half your body is still rushing to restore itself, and her accuracy is nearly perfect. You fall back just before she slams into you, forcing her to adjust her attack on the fly from a stiff-fingered thrust to a slash, and your own claws rake her extended arm. You don't just fall flat on your back, of course - you attempt to cartwheel away from her to keep upright, but before you can get your feet solidly planted the woman kicks out, catching your side with the top of her foot and sending you flying across the rooftop. You land more or less on your feet, skidding back and catching your balance, and you grin as you look up at the woman, even as you cough up blood from the internal damage. You can almost see the problems running through her head! You're hurting her in close range, enough that she thinks its worthwhile to boot you out of close range, but that just gives you time to restore yourself. You lick bloody lips; she's a good fighter, strong and skilled - less than Meiling, of course - and she might be able to ignore the pain of her injuries for a while, but mechanically speaking, her body is going to fail when she needs it to if she keeps pushing like this. Drawing out the fight, slowly cutting her apart … that's her weakness.

It's no fun, though. What you want to do is get in close, to rend and tear and pound and just go on …! You start walking sideways, closing the distance a little and keeping at least some of the initiative on your side. It's so irritating, not being able to fly - not because you can't swoop and soar above her, but because it means you have to slow down, to pay attention to how your feet are placed and maintain your balance. After a moment of watching you, she follows suit, eyes narrow and flicking across your healing body, searching for a weakness that she can exploit. You grin again; are her injuries finally starting to bother her? Have you hurt her enough that she wants to play defense for a while?

What do you do?

[ ] Try grappling again.
- [ ] Make sure to feed this time!

[ ] Play keepaway and wear her down.

[ ] Just slam into her and beat and tear her to death.

[ ] See if you can get a crippling shot against her leg, then see what Patchouli actually left you. Danmaku, Laevateinn, Loki … anything else?

[ ] Other?

This opponent isn't stupid. It's entirely possible, even likely, that the enemy is trying to do the exact same thing we just did so she can catch us off guard. Thus, the smart thing to do (and Flandre isn't stupid either) is to not fall for it and wreck her in a way that doesn't leave us open to getting countered.

On the other hand, the last time I made a vote based on what I thought was reasonable and in-character we took SAN damage and accomplished nothing.

Sadly, "reasonable" and "in-character" are sometimes at cross-purposes.

We regenerate, but close in is Bazett's natural range as well, and she has a number of techniques that are well suited to fighting vampires(especially the heart ripping technique).
Once we DO grab on she's in a bad position, but

[X] Play keepaway and wear her down.

She's human, we're not. We can keep this up much longer than she can.

[ ] Just slam into her and beat and tear her to death.

Thats like the second worst option based on her abilities.

[ ] See if you can get a crippling shot against her leg, then see what Patchouli actually left you. Danmaku, Laevateinn, Loki … anything else?

This is asking for eating Answerer to the face.

Your grin widens even as you flick your eyes down at the ragged ruin that used to be your dress. It's probably a lost cause, but with it no longer covering most of your body it's quite easy to see your body knitting itself back together. The woman has to be thinking about that. She may be a great warrior, and if you were feeling merciful you might even have considered subduing her and seeing if Meiling would want an understudy … but you aren't. No, you are going to show this woman why vampires are top-class youkai. Even if you can't use magic, even with your greater strengths sealed away by Patchouli, you're still going to win this fight! Your fingers flex and you roll your shoulders before hunching forward predatorily and continuing to stalk the woman, spiraling closer and closer. She turns in place, setting herself to receive your attacks.

You lunge suddenly when you reach a good striking range, lashing out with a claw - and throwing as much of your weight as you can back when she tries to counter with her good hand. Too off-balance to retaliate with your own free hand, your left wing thrusts under your arm, skidding off the top of her glove before you leap back. You giggle as the woman frowns at you. Can she not comprehend the idea that you might be capable of changing your fighting style? Who is she, to look down on you so? Your grin seems to split your face in two as you tear forward. The woman sidesteps and kicks out, but you were running to the side anyway, and your wing strikes out again. You have to give the woman credit for skill, strength, and stubbornness, but it seems that unlike you, she isn't really used to fighting people who are on her level of speed and strength - or else her injuries really are telling and she can't keep up with her planned counters. You stalk around her again, not even facing her properly, just keeping your left side to her. If you were a hunting cat, your tail would be twitching with pleasure, but you simply breathe easily and lick your lips.

You keep dashing in at the woman - rushing past her to swipe with claw or wingtip, stopping at her range limit and attacking her countering hand, and you even just slam into her and leap away when she stops falling for your feints and doesn't try to counter you. You clap your hands maliciously as she climbs to her feet. She tries to raise her left arm but gives up after a moment and lets it hang uselessly. You close your eyes and shake your head in mock-sadness, then open your eyes and grin malevolently - you're going to win, and now she knows it, too. A nearly-useless left arm, many smaller injuries on her right arm and hand, the hole in her side … and your body is returned to pristine condition, unmarred by injury. The woman looks at you, closes her eyes, and takes a deep breath. She slips her good arm into her coat and comes out with a small knife; you raise an eyebrow, curious as to what she intends to do with it, when she reverses it and, staring at you, drives it through her own heart. You blink, momentarily confused as the woman's body stiffens and her eyes clench shut. She starts to fall forward, dead or dying - and then her body explodes in a burst of light.
