Of course Yukari will show up. She would want to know what did Flandre learned on her adventure at least. She will also want to meet Illya on the party at minimum and the "Fairy Kingdom" will be a welcome excuse to speak with Flandre and others. It is true, she has plans for the Fairies of the Light but I think nothing urgent. They ARE the princesses of the Fairies and potential Goddesses but that will take lot of time and work from Yukari and them to accomplish. Right now the Einzberns, Berserker and other underlings and friends of Flandre are more pressing matter as is whoever Remilia got (the Shifs).

Getting the fish to Sakuya so it can be used for the party seems good for now, Remi needs her time to plot around Yukaris plots about those fairies, despite being a no show on the political stage quite a lot of stuff happens because of them.

They ARE the princesses of the Fairies and potential Goddesses but that will take lot of time and work from Yukari and them to accomplish
The three are just three fairies with above average wits and a trio of powers that work well together, and the reason Yukari is interested in them is because they live in the tree behind the shrine that has something to do with the Hakurei barrier.
Also they are not fairies of the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars they are fairies of Sunlight, Moonlight, and Starlight which is a pretty big distinction.

she hardly resonates with her element and she's active year-round, not only when it's cold and ice is common
Actually Cirno is stronger in summer where people are not protected against the cold, at least in HSiFS she says that she can unleash her true power only in summer. Im not sure if its just because someone in a t-shirt gets cold faster than someone in a jacket or if there is really some kind of power increase in summer for her.

Nah... She is just less busy in the Summer so she has time to use her powers for mischief.

I agree. This is Remilia's mistake, not mine. They are respectively Sunny Milk the Shining Sunlight, Luna Child the Silent Moonlight and Star Sapphire the Pouring (All Seeing) Starlight.

Or just because, like all the other fairies, she's so amped by the Incident that she's spouting more nonsense than usual. After all, after Nemuno claims that it's midfall, Cirno says "Eh, whatever. Now that it's cool out, I can REALLY show my true power!" Similarly, the omake.txt says this: "For some reason, she's obtained the strength to remain undefeated by the midsummer sun, and has fallen into a terrible state of mental invincibility."

What would truly be annoying was if the Australian dolphin was one of Yukari's familiars sent to spy on us. Or worse.

The fish we are holding right now. But I suspect that rolls would be required for that.

But then again, we did get a negative nat 97.....

Or it's because of Yuuka.

She has a sunflower. I'm betting Yuuka.

Talking to Sakuya

You watch your sister as her unfocused eyes stare at the tabletop. You could snap her out of it pretty easily, but she probably wouldn't appreciate it; she knew you were here and she decided to go looking for answers anyway, so she must consider it really important. You shrug and get up, taking the fish with you. Now, where would Sakuya be …?

You head into the mansion and begin the descent toward the main floor. Maybe it would be faster to go down to the front entrance and reach the kitchen from there, but that's not really a concern at this point. You poke the fish without getting a response; it must have died when you were talking with Remilia. Your clones slip out and carry it for you, more because you're finally feeling lazy than for any other reason. It's not even too large to carry down the stairs or through the hallways. Partway down the staircase you see several fairy maids hanging a picture at a landing. Perfect! You float down and perch on the railing as they work to make sure the landscape of a rose garden is straight. "Hi! Where's Sakuya?" You roll your eyes as the picture they had just gotten straight falls to the floor after they jump into it. And you waited until they were done so this wouldn't happen. One of them, a little quicker than the others, jumps to her feet and faces you.

"Oh! Um, Young Mistress! H-how can we help you?" She plasters a tightly-stretched smile on her face and bows jerkily. You sigh.

"Sakuya. Where is she?"

"O-oh, the Head Maid? U-um, um, the kitchen? Maybe?" Your mouth twists as you stare at the fairy and she swallows nervously. They're supposed to know what she's doing, or at least where she is ….

"Thank you! You had the picture just right before. Try not to drop it again, okay?" You flash a toothy grin at the fairies before jumping over the railing and taking the short way down to the first floor. From there it'll be an easy matter to find Sakuya … at least, if the fairy was right. If she isn't, you can just wait for her to show up and then complain about the maids to her. Fortunately for the fairy, Sakuya is in the kitchen.

"Lady Flandre. May I help you with something?" Your clones hoist the fish so she can see it, and she doesn't even bat an eye before gesturing at an empty counter. You look around the kitchen, but it seems the two of you are alone, and you drift closer as she starts to examine the fish.

"Um, so … what's going to happen for the party?" She frowns at you.

"What's going to happen? I don't think anything special is planned. It should be -" She pauses and shakes her head. "Of course, Lady Flandre. My apologies. Please sit down." You sit on a stool as Sakuya finishes her examination of the fish. She nods absently before turning back to you. "Generally, there are two kinds of parties we hold - invitation and spur-of-the-moment. This is neither, as it was announced some time ago through Miss Shameimaru's newspaper, although a request to inform us if they planned to come was included. Meiling will still maintain her post at the gate to prevent troublesome individuals from entering, to make sure that parties with grudges know if their rivals are present, and to keep a record of who has entered." You nod and Sakuya walks over to a large pot simmering over an open fire. "Of course, much of the mansion itself is still off-limits, although the grounds in the front and the gardens are going to be open. Danmaku contests, both political and friendly, are to be held outside only. Inside, the front hall and a linked ballroom will be the primary venues. The ballroom will have an upper gallery for more private conversations; you and Lady Illyasviel can enter through there if it is more preferable than starting on the ground floor." You nod as she looks over a collection of pastries and sweet treats.

"Should we wear anything specific? Or avoid wearing anything?" She clucks her tongue softly.

"Ah, that won't be a problem, no. There is no theme for the party, and no dress code requirement. You are free to come as you usually are, or to dress more fancily. A certain amount of decorum is, of course, required, but I doubt that will be a problem for you. As for Lady Illyasviel … Lady Remilia instructed me to create several more formal dresses for her, so if she wants to wear something else there are options. If she does not wish to wear one of those, Patchouli should be able to help. Unfortunately, I will be busy overseeing final preparations for the party, so I will not be able to help." She hands you a saucer with a couple of treats on it - your special, of course - and walks over to the silverware cabinet, an almost wardrobe-sized piece of furniture that is still larger on the inside than its size suggests. And it's not even the good stuff. "There shouldn't be any unpleasantness, of course. If you need anything, simply speak my name and I will come."

"Is that for the party, or anytime?" She looks back, smiling.

"Unfortunately, it is just for the party." She laughs softly at your pout. "Hmm …. Most of the guests will have left by nightfall, I think, although of course you aren't required to stay for that long. Was there anything else?"

Hypothetical Worm Visit
Flandre glared at the small group as they walked down the street. She and Deis had kept a low profile since coming to this world, learning as much as they could without exposing themselves to too much danger. Flan had amused herself by feeding on people in random areas across the city, terrorizing the scum-merchants that no one liked, and by following around the girl that no one noticed. That had been a chance encounter … but the minor amusements had ended when the glass exploded. Her wings had been injured, Ershin had been slightly damaged, but now she was angry. A furious investigation had led her to this group, and now she was ready to act. She walked out into the middle of the street as the man in front cut down some other human with his knife and took out her parasol as she dismissed her invisibility. The entire group stopped, almost in unison, and she looked them over again. Man in front, flanked by a little girl and a strange black-and-white woman; two women in the middle, along with a human machine of some kind; a massive youkai, multi-legged and covered with eyes, followed at some distance; and even farther back was a patchwork hulk of a man. Flandre locked eyes with the leader as he lowered the knife to his side.

"Which one of you made the glass explode?" One of the women in the middle rank twitched her head to the side, glancing at her companion. Flandre shifted her attention to the woman - almost predictably, she was wearing glass. "You're going to die. Anyone who gets in my way I'll kill, too, but you're going to die."

"Now, now. Is that any way to treat someone you've just met? Besides, you're going about it all wrong." She didn't take her eyes off her target as the man responded to her challenge.

"I'm just giving the rest of you a chance to keep your lives. I won't mind killing you, but no one else has earned my personal ill-will." She waited - one beat, then another - and without any more warning hurled herself at her target. Most of them didn't react anywhere near fast enough - the man's knife had barely moved by the time she had almost reached him. But the strange woman in the front did, one hand whipping up and passing effortlessly through Flandre's left shoulder and down her side, but not enough to stop her attack. So, too, the strange white machine, one arm driving into her ruined side with blade-like fingers … but she had already sunk the claws of her good arm into the glass-breaker's skull, and the woman's brain was torn from her head as Flandre soared past. Intentions disrupted by her injuries, she was unable to evade the youkai's surprisingly fast response, and one massive paw slapped her to the side, into a building.

The road tore open beneath the youkai, interrupting his pounce on the stunned vampire. She pushed herself up on her arm, levered herself to a kneeling position - then 'slid' along the ground down the sidewalk to avoid the machine's leaping attack. A glance at the group surprised her. The humans seemed to be surprised, but not shocked or terrified. The striped woman held the girl and the man by the hands, the machine was pulling his hand out of the wall of the building, the youkai was hauling itself out of the chasm, the hulk was disintegrating as he ran toward her. Puzzled, she slid to a halt, then turned at the sound of footsteps. The hulk was charging from the other side, massive axe in his hands. She leapt forward, into the swing, then turned invisible and took to the sky. Laevateinn appeared in her hand and she dove at the striped woman. Arms locked forward with the black weapon in her grip, she couldn't help but grunt in pain as the rod stopped against the woman - who then released her grip on the man and lashed out. Too close to dodge, the swipe carved through Flandre's face, blinding her and knocking her reeling.

Up was safe, though - hopefully, and she suppressed hisses of pain and angry growls. Deis was nearby, she would help if Flan asked for it. "Cherish?" Her ears still worked, and she noted the hostility in the man's voice.

"I don't know! When she's here I can get a sense for her, but I don't even know if she's in the city right now."

"She's probably telling the truth." A little girl's voice, followed by a deep-voiced chuckle. The youkai? Sight returned as her eyes healed, and she looked at the man, found his eye, held it in her hand, squeezed - and nothing happened. The man didn't even seem to notice. Snarling - drawing attention and drifting back to avoid retaliation - she adjusted her grip, nails pointed in and gripping it with her other hand, but again failed to induce any reaction. She shifted her focus to the striped woman, and found no eye. Then the remaining woman - Cherish? - staggered and fell, a bloody wound in her stomach, as a gunshot echoed around them.

So it's been a while since the last one. It's taken so long partly because I've been a little busy, but a lot also had to do with how I write these. With most of the scenarios, I have a few set ideas that I'm pretty sure are going to happen, but with Worm ... stay neutral, go rogue, go villain, (try to) go PRT, with a bunch of different ways each could progress. So it was either do the initial 'meeting' - which would be kind of a cop out - or advance one story path or another and write that. Then it's picking one of the paths and deciding how to progress along it. Not sure how much I like this one - it's certainly one of the less likely scenarios - but ... What can you do?

Worm would be an interesting place to visit and as an independant villian Flan could have had a lot of fun there, lots of people that noone would miss and quite a few of the capes would make for an interesting fight. Bringing Lung back as a source of food would have been funny.

You think for a moment before shaking your head. "No, I can't think of anything." Sakuya bows and you kick your feet idly. "Well, I'm going back downstairs to take a nap. Could you make sure to bring something down for Ilya, Sella, and Leysritt to eat?"

"Of course, Lady Flandre. Patchouli sent a note up earlier." Well, at least she's taking care of them. Considering that she doesn't need to eat, you wouldn't have been surprised if she'd forgotten about that minor detail. You hop off the stool and into the air.

"Thank you, Sakuya." She bows again as you wave and withdraw. The way back down to the basement is clear of fairies - they're probably all busy getting ready for the party, and after Marisa's entrance, and probably her exit, the hallway would have been cleaned up so there would be no need for anyone to go over it again so soon. The basement is a slightly different story, but that was a Master Spark. It's also not your problem, so you head to your room, making sure to keep well away from where Ilya should be, in case Patchouli decides to be entirely too literal. Once there you change out of your clothes and put them and your parasol where they can be properly cleaned, then slip into your coffin and relax. Might as well wake up when Satsuki does so she doesn't get too nervous. You fall asleep.

You wake up refreshed and rap on the lid of the coffin. It opens and you slip out, closing it quietly behind you. After getting dressed you look around your room, wondering if there's anything you want to do, but nothing stands out so you shrug and head for Satsuki's room. She should be awake, but when you don't hear anything after a minute you open the door and poke your head inside. She's sitting on her bed, hands covering her face. You step in and lean against the wall.

"Is something wrong?" She moans and takes her hands away, only then seeming to recognize your voice because she hesitates before looking at you with an expression of dread.

"U-um. I'm sorry, Flandre-sama." You blink and tilt your head inquisitively. She screws her eyes shut and ducks her head, moaning again as she realizes that you don't know what she's talking about. You give her another minute to compose herself before clearing your throat. She flinches. "Um, last night, I think? You left me with … um -"

"Meiling." She starts nervously again and you cross your arms.

"M-Meiling. Um, she finished her duties first, making sure the plants were all doing well, then planted the one you gave her. Um, she wanted to spar with me, but I guess I wasn't doing something right because she stopped me and then took me to a small pavilion and just told me to relax and wait. She went to get something to drink, and brought something back for me. I … I don't know what it was. She said it wasn't alcoholic, but …."

"You attacked her after drinking it?" She hunches her shoulders and nods slowly.

"It was … I felt hot, burning. And she was right there, so …." You sigh.

"I'll talk to her before you go back, okay?" She turns to stare at you and you shrug. "I mean, I saw her earlier today and she didn't say anything about it. She looked fine, too, so whatever you managed to do to her didn't stick. I mean, if you managed to hit her. You're strong, but you're not particularly skilled, which is the same problem I have. Depending on just how strong and fast you are, Meiling could well have blocked or dodged everything you tried to hit her with, because she's not very strong, but she's very tough and definitely very skilled. I'm pretty sure that's why she's our gate guard - anyone who can beat her is someone worth paying attention to." You grin and float over to her, then pat her head. "So cheer up! Now that you know she can survive you, you can spar properly with her." She nods and tries to smile. "But for now, you should get dressed." She nods slowly and walks to the wardrobe. "Mm, you know about the party tomorrow, right? You don't need to worry about it too much. It starts in the early afternoon and will probably be winding down by the time you wake up, and I'm not sure I'll even be there for that long. It'll be mostly up to Ilya, how much she wants to meet people. If you want to see what's still going on you'll be allowed to, of course." You drop onto the bed as she starts getting changed. You could take her out to Meiling right now, make sure everything gets sorted out. Or you could have her check on Ilya while you go ahead? Ilya should be fine, but Patchouli can be pretty annoying and rude. And you could send her to Sakuya, but since she's probably going to be busy either helping your sister or working on the party it might not be the best idea.

Or you could keep her with you for now. You could practice Remilia's composition some more and ask her what she thinks of it, or talk with Deis about the party. Of course, since you don't know who's going to be there - apart from Alice and Yukari, anyway - you don't know if she'll want to meet anyone there. And since she can't eat anything she'll probably be upset by everything Sakuya is making … of course, maybe Patchouli recruited her to help pick up the books and fix the shelves. On the other hand, if Patchouli didn't, then would Deis want to help once she found out about it? Maybe you should just give them a tour of the mansion before letting them decide if there's anything in particular they want to do …. You look up as Satsuki twists loosely, making sure the uniform isn't too loose or tight, and when she turns to you clap your hands softly and smile.

"Th-thank you, Flandre-sama." You grin and quickly put a finger to your lips, signaling her to be quiet. She looks confused but follows your lead as you creep out of her room back to the music room. You silently open the door just far enough for you to look inside, and you see Ershin still sitting in the middle of the room. Mystery solved!

Everyone else is kind of busy with the party preparations and Illya will probably be going to bed soon and us "checking in" will just disturb everything again. So taking Satsuki with us to do some stuff seems like the best idea.
Maybe after the practice and talking with Deis we can show them around a bit.
