Waking Ilya
[X] Go see how Ilya, Sella, and Leysritt are doing.

"Anyway, for now, do you know where Ilya and her servants are? I want to go make sure they're alright." She snaps her fingers and walks over to a shelf near the door.

"Um, Sakuya-san said that using this would help keep me from getting lost," she says as she looks down at something, and you float across the room to look over her shoulder. She has her finger on a blank sheet of paper, but lines shimmer across it the longer she touches it. "Illyasviel-san is …." The lines structure themselves with purpose now, arranging themselves to form a map of sorts. Your suite is labeled, but it's zoomed in too much to see anything except the library. And it seems to cut out a lot of the library, too, unless it has a variable scale, but Satsuki only nods and opens the door. "Okay, um, if you'll come with me, Flandre-sama? Sakuya-san said I would remember it unless I try to forget or she moves, but it should be fine right now." You nod and hurry through the door, and she walks purposefully toward the aisles of books.

"Ooh, that's handy. I wonder if she has one that she uses to keep track of everyone?" Could you get one, too? Would you have to ask Remilia or would Patchouli give you one? Satsuki seems a little out of it, though, so you just float along behind her. Twenty minutes later she slows to a halt near one of the laboratory areas, and drag a chair over for her as she leans against a shelf. "Are you okay? Do you need anything?" She shakes her head and slumps gratefully into the chair.

"No, I'm fine. Just … my head feels weird." You smile and pat her head gently.

"Don't worry. Just sit and wait for everything to feel more normal. Take a nap if you need to." She nods and you head into the lab area. Much like the portal area, it's not particularly distinct from the rest of the library, being only a circular cleared area with desks and tables. Ilya and Leysritt are asleep on beds, but Sella is sitting at one of the desks, reading something. She looks up when you enter, though, and starts to stand up before you wave her down and flit over to the desk. "Hello, Sella. Is everything going well?" She bows from her chair.

"Lady Flandre, good morning." You nod and glance at Ilya. "Miss Knowledge has been very helpful, and is … quite knowledgeable regarding Einzbern homunculus creation techniques. Leysritt will recover almost fully in another day or two." You smile.

"That's good. What about Ilya? My sister said it would be a bit involved, and that Patchouli had to make sure her magic circuits weren't damaged, but everything should be fine." Sella sighs and walks over to the sleeping mage. You follow her as she gently brushes Ilya's hair.

"There is really no way to restore the damaged Command Seals. They could be replaced, should it be necessary. Her circuits, however … between the nature of the attack she suffered and the additional strain incurred by her maintenance of Berserker despite the destruction of the Grail, and no real recovery period, her body is not coping well. And with her body already so weakened, her life was at considerable risk. She has been stabilized now, however." You sigh, relieved that Ilya will be fine – and glad that you were lucky enough to get her out before it was too late.

"Excuse me." You and Sella look up at Patchouli's voice and she slips between you to place a hand on Ilya's forehead. She frowns behind a set of glasses you don't recall seeing her wear before, but then she nods and drifts back. "She'll be fine for now. I suppose you want to talk to her?" You nod slowly but look at Sella, trying to make it clear that if she wants to let Ilya sleep more you won't object. But Sella bows deeply to Patchouli.

"Please, Miss Knowledge." Patchouli looks almost embarrassed, and you look around when you hear Koakuma snickering, but Patchouli ignores it and whispers something before drawing back from Ilya.

"She'll need a couple minutes before she can think clearly. And she shouldn't move around too much today." She gives you a stern glance. "Try to keep from being your usual physical self. If you need me, ring the bell. Come." Koakuma sighs exaggeratedly and winks at you as she follows the magician out of the lab. You pout and simply lean against the bed to wait for Ilya to wake up. Sella quickly checks Leysritt before returning to her position on Ilya's other side, and Ilya slowly starts to wake up. She finally opens her eyes and blinks sleepily as she looks around.

"Huh? … I was … mm. Mama?" Sella grimaces, clearly unhappy as Ilya continues looking around. "Oh? Umm … Sella. And … Flandre. Where are we?" You smile at her when she recognizes you.

"Ilya, you're awake! And we're in Gensokyo, in the library in my home." She blinks as she digests that information. Then her eyes fly open and she bolts upright. You leap to your feet, worried and ready to go get Patchouli, but Sella simply lays her hand on Ilya's shoulder.

"It's alright, Lady Illyasviel." Even before she finishes speaking, Berserker crashes to the ground at the foot of Ilya's bed, kneeling, and Ilya tries to scramble forward to reach him, heedless of her injuries. You catch her when she starts to fall and help her reach her Servant before pulling back. Ilya wraps her arm around his knee, at least as much as she can, then spins wildly back to Sella.

"And Sella – ah, Leys? Leys?!" Sella catches her before she can fall off the bed.

"She's alright, Lady Illyasviel. She's even recovering more quickly than you are. You don't need to worry." She holds Ilya carefully and helps her back to a resting position. You lean forward nervously.

"Ilya? Are you okay?" Sella puts a finger to her lips, wanting you to be quiet, as Ilya groans and presses her one good hand against her forehead. You wait as patiently as you can until Ilya takes her hand away and smiles at you.

"I'm fine, Flan. So this is your home?" She looks around the library, eyes wide, and you sigh in relief again.

"This is Patchouli's library. Just part of the mansion." You hesitate and take a deep breath. "So, um, what do you remember about what happened?" Sella winces, but Ilya just looks thoughtful and a little sad.

"I remember … going with you, and then falling asleep. And then it felt like someone was trying to take Berserker away from me. But I kept him safe … and then the feeling disappeared. And I remember … a good dream, but I don't remember what happened in it anymore, just that it was really good. What did happen?" You lean onto the bed again as she looks curiously at you.

"I went and destroyed the Grail. It seemed like the Matou girl would lose if it tried taking her over again, so I thought it would be best to just get it over with. But then I came back and you were in trouble, so I asked Sella if it would okay to take you here so Patchouli and my sister could make sure you were alright." She nods thoughtfully before smiling at you and nodding.

"It seems that everything worked out pretty well, then. That's good. Then can you show me around?" You pout unhappily and Sella smiles behind her hand.

"Patchouli said you shouldn't move around too much, so I think I'd get into trouble if we did that. If you really want to, though – and Sella doesn't mind – I could show you around." She matches your pout and shakes her head.

"No, it's probably better if I stay here if that's what she wants." She sighs. What can you do if she isn't supposed to be moved too much?

Also, yes, it's 40K again, but it's actually a plausible situation for the Quest to have gotten itself into.
Flandre stared at the strange ships as they descended into the cavern and the choking sky was closed off by thick metal shields. They were loud and bulky, but she could recognize weapons mounted around them. She ignored several gargantuan craft, all covered in dull, unpainted metal and similar to the earlier landing ships that had disgorged huge numbers of men and many vehicles, some of which she had grown familiar with over the course of her time in the tunnels. They were less frequent now that she had come to what passed for a city, and she had long since grown bored with the humans anyway - apart from a few of their strange guns they were no threat to her, and while the new soldiers were different from the ones she had stopped bothered to count, their weapons were similar.

Instead, she focused her attention on the new ships - much smaller, with a single large cannon mounted on the top, and painted! That one was black with white crosses, that one emerald green, another yellow and red, and two were painted in steely grey. She watched the ungainly-looking craft descend to the ground, and her eyes widened as she saw the warriors emerge from within. No normal humans were these! She shivered with anticipation at the sight of modern knights, standing taller and broader than mere mortals, wearing thick steel armor and bearing weapons of hand-to-hand combat in addition to their bulky firearms - surely such champions as these would be a fight she would cherish! But so few were their numbers: twenty of the black-armored crusaders, the same number in green, thirty red-and-yellow, and forty of the steel-silver warriors. Her eyes widened even more as one of the silver-clad warriors, acting distinctly from his fellows, looked around, finally raising his head to gaze directly at her hiding spot. But his eyes moved away without incident, her cloak of invisibility fooling his senses, and she sighed unhappily. As the silver warriors began their march to join the other armored warriors she stepped forward and hurled herself toward them - and when there was but a moment before she struck, she dispelled her invisibility.

Instead of crashing onto his strange helmet, Laevateinn shattered the weapon he wore on his left arm, and Flandre giggled as the other warriors began reacting to her attack. But she was already moving, and her next sweeping strike shattered the knee of an armored warrior, but her third attack failed to stun the even more-heavily-armored warrior she attacked next. Twisting out of the way of his crackling sword, she drew out one of the more dangerous weapons she had taken, a pistol-sized weapon that fired blue blasts of incredible destruction. Barely able to hold the weapon properly, she aimed at his head and pulled the trigger, then turned and slammed the containment field into the chest of another warrior. As she rolled away from the explosion and began restoring her arm, a sword-bearing warrior charged at her. Unable to match his skill, she let him impale her, wincing as the wound seemed to tear at her mind, and threw herself up the blade to thrust her own weapon through his helmet. He fell away, but the momentary distraction allowed another of the steel warriors to get close, and Flandre had no chance to avoid the crackling hammer as it smashed into her chest. She soared through the air and rolled along the ground.

Her eyes fluttered open as a black-armored warrior, helmet replaced by a grinning skull, raised yet another crackling weapon over his head. Torso caved in, arm still ravaged, she barely managed to roll out of the way in time, but as she came up her clones spilled out with her. The trio were armed not with their Laevateinn-copies, but with more pilfered human weapons - unassuming weapons that could still vaporize the mightiest armor she had encountered on the planet. The skull-faced warrior roared a challenge and charged, but Flandre was already moving. Her clones swept their weapons over the assembled knights, ignoring the dreadful wounds caused by their enemies' barking weapons to wreak even greater havoc before the damage they sustained was too great. Flandre herself flew for the humans gathered on the assembly ground, smashing bodies apart as she cannoned into the serried ranks. Even as she drank handfuls of blood from her mounting toll of terrified victims, she was thinking of something else: this world had grown boring, but the knights had come from somewhere else. Would she see greater returns by sneaking aboard their ships and trying to visit their home, or by staying here and slaying them all, that they would send a greater force next time?
Next ... will probably be either NGE or Worm.

Reading to Ilya
[X] Find a book and read to Ilya.

"Well then, why don't I read to you?" Her pout vanishes, replaced by a more curious expression, and she watches you.

"What sort of thing were you planning on reading?" You tilt your head to the side, frowning in thought for a moment.

"Well, I had thought of reading you Parzival, but it's kind of long and not something you need to hear - besides, the timing is all wrong for it." Her eyes narrow suspiciously.

"Oh? What kind of story is it?" You blink, a little surprised that she hasn't heard of it.

"It's about one of King Arthur's greatest knights. It's something that I think the Einzberns should have made mandatory reading, given that it's about the search for the Grail." She frowns but doesn't say anything. "Would you like to hear other stories? Not about great heroes and gods, but about more normal people?" She considers it for some time before slowly nodding.

"Alright." You clap your hands and she sighs quietly.

"Ah, but before I go get the book …." You motion for Sella to come over and help Ilya sit up. "Okay, now Sella, sit on the bed." She scowls indignantly.

"I couldn't! It is not proper, and Lady Illyas-!" She squeaks as you yank her onto the bed, and Ilya giggles as you force Sella where you want her. Then you lean Ilya against her, and the servant's face flushes bright red.

"Is that comfortable, Ilya?" She sinks back against Sella and nods contentedly, even smiling when Sella strokes her hair. "Alright, now don't fall asleep. I'll be right back." You hop back and flit out of the area, although they seem content enough that you probably don't need to hurry on their account. Of course, you do want to start reading, so you fly through the library, looking not for a book, but for someone … and you nearly collide with Koakuma anyway. That's probably more your fault since she's carrying a stack of books nearly up to eye level.

"Oh! Flandre-san! My apologies. Are you looking for something?" You nod quickly.

"Yes, I'm looking for a - a specific book." She sighs disappointedly, but she's already used that joke on you and you want to find it quickly. "A collection of human stories. It has the one about the seven Swabians and the boy who doesn't know what fear is and all the rest." Her eyes lose focus and her head tilts to the right, but after a few seconds she shakes her head and a small reddish orb appears in front of her.

"That should take you to the right book; if it doesn't, hold it and when I get a moment I can refine the search for you." You nod jerkily and the orb zips off.

"Thank you, Koakuma!" You fly after it, but since it's limited to Koakuma's own relatively sedate pace, it's easy to catch it, and it's only a minute before the orb comes to a rest at one bookshelf. You find the book you're looking for on the third shelf and clap your hands. "Thank you," you say again, and the orb winks out. With the book in hand you zoom through the library back to Ilya. You dive down and come to a halt on the other side of the bed. Ilya smiles. "Story time!" She snuggles back against Sella and you begin with the first story - The Seven Swabians. It's a very short story, but as you finish the tale of Herr Schulz, Jackli, Marli, Jergli, Michal, Hans, and Veitli, you look up to see Ilya staring at you. She shakes her head and tries to say something, but can't speak.

"… I thought you had said these would be about normal people, Lady Flandre?" You nod at Sella's confused question.

"It is! Well, they're normal for Swabians, anyway." Ilya sighs and shakes her head. "Ready for the next one?" Ilya nods and you turn to The Story of a Boy Who Went Forth to Learn Fear. She frowns when you finish.

"… But that shouldn't have happened. If there really were ghosts and the like haunting that castle, he should have been killed, whether he was afraid or not." You nod and shrug.

"Well, most people weren't able to break the curse, so maybe there wasn't really anything there, only illusions. And the boy was too stupid to realize that, so he 'fought' them and won."

"So the point of that story was that 'magic' and 'hauntings' are just illusions, not real?" You shrug again.

"These were written for normal people, so if they could be made to believe that magic doesn't exist, that would weaken magicians, wouldn't it? Youkai need to be believed in to maintain their existence, after all. Of course, it could just be that if you're brave and stand up to 'magic,' you'll be fine and win the riches, but that usually just leads to dead 'heroes.'" Ilya nods thoughtfully before staring intently at you.

"The next one!" You smile and turn to the next story. Sometimes Ilya has something to say about the story, and other times she simply laughs and wants you to keep reading. But before you're even halfway through the book she starts yawning, lulled by your voice, and it's not long before she falls asleep. You close the book and set it on a nearby table, and smile up at Sella. "Do you want me to help you out?" She looks down at the sleeping girl, then over at Leysritt, and finally shakes her head.

"No, thank you. I think I would like to stay like this for a while." You nod and brush Ilya's hair a few times. Sella clears her throat and you look up at her. "If I may ask a favor, Lady Flandre? That other story you spoke of - Parzival? Could I read it?" You stare up at her for a moment, contemplating her desire for the book, but before she can start to withdraw her request you nod.

"I'll get it, Sella. Curious about what I meant?" She nods and looks down at Ilya. "I'll be right back." You curtsy and hop into the air. You know where to get a copy of this book, at least, and you fly to the wall of the library. Somewhere around here there's a reading room. It mostly has Remilia's stuff in it, but - you clap your hands and dart down to the unassuming door. It's unlocked, of course, and you slip inside. In contrast to the well-ordered library, most of the shelves here are haphazardly filled; if there's any organizational pattern, only your sister knows what it is. And on a far wall is a shelf with your paltry collection of books - some art books, some music books, a few pieces of literature. You take out Parzival and hold it carefully. It's still in very good condition, and you open it to a random page and laugh at yourself - the description of the Grail. Shaking your head, you exit the reading room and return to Sella.

"Thank you, Lady Flandre. I shall take very good care of it." You smile and spread your arms.

"It looks like Satsuki fell asleep, so I'm going to take her back to her room. Is there anything else I can get you?" She shakes her head. "I'll see you later, then." You hurry over to your servant and carefully lift her up. She doesn't seem like she's going to wake up anytime soon, but you're still gentle and set her in her bed before loosening her uniform. That does seem like a good idea ….

Entropy Judge was one of the stories Seven At One Blow? Because this is a hilarious story about human's ingenuity and cleverness overcoming brute strength of monsters...

What did Illya thought about THAT story? How Flandre viewed it?
It was; Flandre thinks the story is a load of nonsense, because giants are either too smart or too stupid to be fooled like that, and unicorns don't live in Germany. Ilya thinks it's a load of nonsense because she doesn't think there can be so many stupid people existing at one time.

Let's go get some rest. Let's face it, dimension jumping is tiring business. Besides, It will probably skip to a conversation with Remilia.
