[X] The Box:
-[X] Ask Lutecia to tell Homura about the box.
[X] Keep talking to Lutecia and Agito:
- [X] About Gensokyo.
"Did she say what it was?" Agito stares interestedly at the box, but you shake your head.
"No, just that it was a surprise for her, so we shouldn't open it." You flop down onto the couch and look at Lutecia. "Hey, you can talk to Homura, right? Could you tell her that someone named Karen was here with a present for her?" She gives the box a suspicious look before nodding. She doesn't close her eyes or anything, though, just stands there for a few minutes before turning back to you.
"They're at Madoka's right now, talking with her family about the situation. She said she doesn't remember anyone named Karen who would know her well enough to give her a present for getting out of the hospital, but it could have been someone from the hospital. She asked if we could open it for her." She seems a little hesitant, and frowns at the box again. You pull yourself forward and step forward, shooting a grin at Agito, barely halfway to the box, as she huffs. You put one finger under the flap and pop it open as you stare inside. You barely see the darts, and then there's a flash.
One dart hits you just above and to the left of your mouth, punching through the flesh to embed itself in your gums, one pierces your left eye, and the third gouges the top of your nose before sliding against your right eye. You collapse as something flows into you - something burning, and boiling, and freezing - and you shriek as it twists around inside you, the pain magnifying as it affects more than just your physical self. Headless and her kin shriek with you, the former in outrage and the latter in fear, and you tear your arms out of the table as something attacks you. You lash out, sending your assailant flying, and dash toward the door - or where you think the door is. You can't see, but your aim is pretty good, and the crashes outward. Good.
You can't take it. Twice you've been humiliated, made a fool. You're going to find her, and you're going to kill her, and you're going to kill Kirika. Snarling, you turn in the direction Karen went and hurl yourself after her. You don't need to see, once you find her she'll be stupid enough -! Your aim isn't as good this time, and you hear the air start to crack just as you slam through the wall of a building. You snarl again as you shake your head and start to brush your eyes - the snarl turns to a howl of agony as you twist the darts. You back up, trying to exit the building, but you trip over something. Maybe a chair. Grinding your teeth as you climb to your feet, you will danmaku orbs into existence and pummel the opposite side of the room. After you hope you've done enough damage to the wall, you dash forward, and you're free of the house. You try to turn yourself so you aren't in danger of hitting any of the buildings for a while, and throw yourself forward once again, just above foot level.
The air screams behind you, but the second impact is ruinous. You're stunned for a moment, then you blink, and you can see again, fuzzily. Something didn't heal right in your neck, though - breathing, swallowing, anything you do seems to tear a fresh hole in your throat. You look around, trying to figure out what you hit … some kind of large car. The broken body of a heavily-tattooed man lies twisted in the road behind you. There's a short slam, and you cover your pounding ears as another man comes around the wrecked vehicle. He snarls at the scene, raises his arm, and something cracks twice. The bullets tear through your newly-reformed torso, and you just look and squeeze. More people shout, though, and, tired of everything, you fade away and run south.
Head pounding, eyes aching, throat crucified, you make it into the tunnels beneath the rail station. Your hideout from last time. Safe, dark and dry. You go just a little farther in, then rip out your throat. Twice, because you don't get it the first time, but then you have a small needle, slightly twisted and glittering blackly. You glare at it, then cough and shudder. You're cold, tired, and you just don't want to deal with anything, so you put the dart in a small cubby and transform into a bat before crawling into the one beneath it.
"Flandre? Are you here?" Your eyes open to slits as the voice brings you to wakefulness. Homura? It's impossible to tell with the direction the light is coming.
"She's here."
"Then you and Kirika should wait above for us." You focus your attention. Kirika and Oriko. Oriko, the seer, who should be making sure things like this don't happen!
"We need her to work together with us, not sulk in whatever passes for self-pity among the damned, Homura. I don't feel well, either, but you don't see me hiding in a gutter like a coward when I can be useful." For a long, cold second, you're paralyzed by the rage flooding your diminutive body … but she has a point. She can be useful to you. She just needs to tell you where Karen is. Or you could make them do without your assistance ....
