Well, she does like hide and seek, and would see nothing wrong with hiding either.

She's just got a few screws loose.

Votes are not locked. I am currently feeling more like these nameless mooks and less like the lovable scamp:

So I'm going to update later, after that changes. It should be later today, but probably not before noon.

And the next batch of Beauty of Scarlet was just uploaded, but hasn't been translated yet. :sigh:

Heading Downstairs
[X] Stay at the church.
- [X] Try to sneak into the basement.

You sigh to yourself and rise to the top of the room, looking for an easy way outside. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any such thing, not without breaking through a wall, and you drift back down. You spin so you're upside down and look through the doorway before you slip through it, sparing a pair of glances for the arm and the piano. Then you slink along the wall, trusting to your memory of the ruins - and logic regarding the possible floorplan of the place - to find the entrance to the attached home. You're pretty sure you find it, even, but the door is shut, and you don't dare open it for fear of alerting the inhabitants. You glower and turn back to head outside, then freeze yourself against the wall.

"... Alright, it's about time for you guys to head back, so once you put the mops away you can head over and get something to eat. You've all been keeping up your work?"

"Yes, Mika." A chorus of young voices answers the girl as you creep closer to the entrance. It looks like they finished cleaning up outside, and the younger kids are being sent away.

"Good, good. Take care of yourselves, then, and remember to keep quiet about this." The kids bow respectfully to the older girls, then split away to put their tools away as the girls head for the chapel. You take the chance to dash out of the church, making sure to fly out of reach before you reach the doors, just in case someone is coming through. Grumbling to yourself, you sweep along the wall to minimize your exposure to the sun, which is peeking out from the clouds. You almost grumble aloud when it turns out the front door is closed, and the urge to burn the place down rises. Still, the back door is open, thanks to the two girls unloading the carts from the front. You slip in past them and head for the basement stairs.

That strange feeling of something else watching intensifies as you pass through the house, and you feel an awful lot of raw power coming up as well. Well, a lot of power for the local magicians, anyway. Maybe Kyouko found a real magician somewhere? Strange that you couldn't feel the power in the chapel, though .... You take a long, silent breath and keep moving. The basement doesn't have a door, though it does have a small foyer of its own. Frustratingly, the staircase is narrow, short, and twisty - if someone comes up when you head down, or if someone heads down when you try to leave, you'll be caught.

Still, you're here now, so you quickly and carefully creep down the stairs. They aren't very long, fortunately, and you emerge into a rather comfortable lower level. A small fireplace burns merrily at one end, highlighting several comfortable-looking chairs. There are some bookshelves along the wall - mostly empty, unfortunately - and a couple tables with chairs. One of the tables has a map of the city and a thick folder on it. At the far end of the room is a small, comfortable bench and an odd doorway, and you quietly move away from the stairs going up. Flanking the door are two more of the robed guardians, and both seem to be looking at the stairs ... and unlike their counterparts upstairs, these two are armed, carrying odd red spears like the one impaling the arm in the church. And sitting on the bench is a small girl with green hair and blue eyes, wearing a pink-and-purple dress. She looks back and forth between the guardians and your approximate location, then frowns and tilts her head before nodding.

"... Um, hello? Is someone there?" She sounds a little nervous, but she hops off the bench and stands as tall as she can, arms spread. "You can't come in here!" ... You snarl silently; if you stay, you'll almost certainly be found, and if you don't leave immediately, you'll probably have to fight your way through the girls upstairs.

There's a tie, so Not Locked. Yet, anyway. Will probably remain unlocked for at least a couple hours.

You drift forward toward the girl, keeping an eye on the guardians as you slowly move closer. Once you start moving, they seem to lose track of you, then find you again, then lose you - you suspect they can't actually detect you, and are noticing some environmental change you haven't noticed. The girl doesn't seem to be able to find you, though, which is another comforting thought, and she seems to be taking her cue from the guardians. You park yourself against the wall, with the girl between you and the guardians, just as the two older girls from downstairs rush into the room, swords out. They don't ask what's happening, though, and simply take up positions to block the stairs up. Frustrating, but ....

"Psst." The girl doesn't react, but you aren't sure you can go much louder without also alerting the guardians .... "Psst!" You practically hiss at the girl, but she frowns unhappily, looks around, shakes her head, and climbs back onto the bench. Slowly, over the course of several minutes, you creep right next to the girl, apparently unnoticed by anyone. "Hey." The guardians don't react, but the girl jumps in shock, then looks around. After a moment, she tilts her head down so she's looking pretty much at your teeth. Well, that works -

You hurl yourself back into the wall as one of the guardians springs into motion. Her spear swings across in an arc, and while it does miss you, the girl isn't so lucky. The design of the spearhead - four edges instead of two, like some arrows, and four wings set at right angles to the spearheads - means that it's better suited for piercing instead of slashing, but the force of the impact shatters the girl's ribs anyway, and the guardian controls the rebound well enough to launch a fairly effective lunging thrust at you. You dart to the side, dodging the attack easily, and the spear gets stuck in the wall. As she yanks the spear back to remove it, the girl tosses her hood back. For a moment, you aren't sure whether it's Kyouko or Sayaka, before deciding it's neither - while the hairstyle looks like Sayaka's, and her hair and eye color match Kyouko's, she isn't either one. Her eyes aren't glowing either, and you can tell that she really can't see you, even if she can tell roughly where you are.

You twitch your head back to see what the other two girls are doing, and the guardian lunges forward while your head is turned. You duck back, and she follows up with several more thrusts - at least until you catch the spear below the wings and yank it toward you. The girl lets go, but not soon enough, and in any case she's much too close to you, and you're not particularly happy. You lunge forward, catching her by the robe's front and throwing her into the wall hard enough to make her wince, then slamming her chest hard enough to shatter the breastbone. You finish her off by crushing her skull against the nearest bookshelf, making sure to clean the blood and gore off your hand with her robe. Then you sigh and look around the room.

The other guardian is still in front of the far door; the two sword-users are blocking the stairs up, one several steps up, the other in the room, watching the area you're in. Neither of them seem to have reacted to their dead fellow or the little girl, but neither is actively threatening you, either. You make a roundabout way for the stairs going up, but the girl turns - slowly - to react to your movement, even when you drift back to the middle of the room. It seems they just want to keep you in here, for now ....

What do you do?

[ ] Fight your way out.
- [ ] Back to Homura's.

[ ] Wait.
- What are your general reactions and attitude to any authority figures that come to see what happened?

[ ] Drop invisibility and feed on the girl.

DM Note: By all appearances, the little girl is dead - between the wings, the impacts, and the guardian not being particularly careful with the body, her upper torso is kind of a ruin and it looks like the back of her head was caved in.
