I was thinking, could Kyubey be in on the mind control thing? Its obvious he's making the magical girls Kyoko recruits from, but is he or Kyoko tampering with the process to make them inherently loyal to team Kyoko? A gang of magical girls once rewrote the whole city's memory of Kyubey, and that fake incubator could tamper with soul jems.

I noticed EJ said all of Kyoko goons wield plain straight swords. That's weird, because a magical girls powers and weapon are supposed to represent their wish. The fact they use the same weapon implies how they've had their wills subverted.

She did get the 'magical girls become Witches' explanation, didn't she?

Yeah, but I'm not sure if she really grasped the gravity of the situation. On the other hand, she might think it's worth the sacrifice. Lutecia seems to be emotionally vulnerable atm - thinking she might've lost her mother. I'm sure Kyubey could easily tempt her. Then again, not sure if he can resurrect someone; I don't remember if it was explicitly stated. At least Agito's there.

Kyubey can't raise the dead, or a whole lot of angst could be avoided. That doesn't mean Lutecia can't be tempted though.

I wonder why Kyubey hasn't talked to us. Maybe the fact we're kinda sorta dead is interfering with his telepathy?

And you know the best part? I bought seven boxes of Pocky :D

[X] It was probably bait to try and lure you in, so whoever's making all those girls work for Kyouko can get you.
-[X] When asked about what we mean, point out the unlikelihood of every magical girl with Kyouko just happening to have glowing red eyes. Something's obviously causing it, and when you remember the numbers of people she has when magical girls are normally solitary-ish, and Sayaka's sudden joining of her, mind control is the obvious answer.

"Akemi-san, Scarlet-san? Will you be joining us, or will you stay out some more?" You make a show of thinking it over, but Homura simply nods.

"I will come with you," she says. You shrug.

"I think I'll do a bit more wandering around before I go back, see what the area looks like, if that's okay." You walk over toward a series of platforms attached to the side of the building; the ladder is far above you, but that's not a problem. Homura frowns.

"Ah, if you would like to cover more ground, I'm sure ...." You wave off Mami, then leap up to the lowermost platform, easily levering yourself over the railing before waving down at the dumbstruck girl with a grin.

"I'll see you later," you call out, then run up the stairs. Some careful positioning lets you keep the girls in view the whole time, and they only just reach the end of the alley by the time you ascend to the top platform and leap to the roof. You rush to the edge, both to keep them in view and to get your bearings properly fixed .... "Hmm ... so, the rails are that way, and Homura's house is a bit to the left ...." You nod in satisfaction; you aren't too far off from where you thought you were! Of course, there's not much around, just buildings ... oh, and you have to keep an ear out for helicopters. You get the feeling that being famous again might be a little problematic if you're staying with someone.

Homura, Madoka, and Mami walk along a well-lit street, heading south toward the tracks. You don't have any difficulty following them, and they don't seem to have even thought of looking up to see if you're nearby. And your quick checks for people on the rooftops all turn up empty as well - you are the only night terror on these rooftops, at least. After a short time, they cross the tracks and continue on a path that borders a small lake. Unfortunately, there aren't any more buildings you can use to keep out of sight, and you sigh. They just move so slow if you fly, and you'll have to get closer if you turn into a bat, and you don't feel like being invisible for something like this. What to do ....

You shrug and, once they move a fair distance away, dive into the plants along the lake. There are quite a few trees, actually, so it's not like you're completely exposed, but now you have to keep moving to keep up with them. Such a pain. Still, they don't seem to spot you, and eventually Madoka parts from her friends at a weird-looking white house with a lot of windows. You wait until Mami and Homura get a bit farther, then transform into a bat; you'll have to get closer anyway, after all.

To your surprise, she doesn't go in through the front of the house ... at least, you think she doesn't. It's hard to tell which side is the front. Instead, she goes around the house and enters from a small side door. You fly closer to the house and land on a small planter with bushes, then creep around so you can look in through the glass window. You nod happily - that is Junko Kaname! And then Madoka steps into the room, apparently nervous, and they start talking. You can't hear them, of course ... but it seems like Madoka expected to be in trouble. Maybe she came home later than she was supposed to? In any case, that only lasts until Junko walks over to Madoka, hugs her, and guides her to the table before going farther back into the room and ... she's reheating food, you think. Then she brings out two different drinks, one for each of them.

And they sit and talk, and Junko makes sure Madoka eats, and at some point, a small black cat hops up onto the table. Madoka seems to scold it, and it wanders over to Junko, who strokes it lazily. You sit and think, even after Madoka and Junko put their food away and go upstairs. Is that what a parent does? Make sure their child gets enough to eat? True, human children are pretty incapable of taking care of themselves - animal young learn to take care of themselves fairly quickly, and youkai are even faster! You're pretty sure you don't need one ... but Lutecia thought she did. Maybe she just needs a family of her own, and thinks her mother is the only way to get one? You giggle to yourself; maybe you could get Junko to be Lutecia's mother!

After thinking about it for a while, you dismiss the thought - maybe, if it turns out that Lutecia's mother can't be saved, you can try that. Until then, however, she has her own mother that she wants to get to. You stretch your tiny wings and make a circuit around the house, just to see what else is there. After that, you fly up and cruise toward Homura's. You don't see anyone on the way, and you drop to the street to assume your normal form before you reach it. The door isn't locked, and you quietly open it and slip through. The large room is quiescent, the bright lights and pictures gone, and you pass through the door to the rest of the house. The kitchen is full of scents now, but you have eyes only for the tea. You fly up and open the cabinet, grinning at the moderate selection, and make some for yourself - adding a decent amount of blood to the mix once it's ready, of course.

After a few minutes, you set the empty teacup on the counter and scrub at your eyes. Remilia's overprotective of you, far more than she needs to be ... but she's also the only constant in your life. And she isn't here, can't have fun with you. You quietly walk through the house to your room, slip inside, bundle the sheets and blankets around you, and shove yourself under the bed. It takes a while for you to fall asleep, and you wake up to a series of knocks and Homura's offer of breakfast.

I think we may need to have one more social link for multiple reasons. Also imao soulgem experiments may not be the best idea atm (can we give Lutecia some more time first?)

Yeah, I'm not sure jumping straight into Soul Gems is a good idea. Let's give her some time to trust us more before going all 'hey, I totally cut off these people's heads and here are their souls-in-jars!'

...Er, yeah I agree. Getting more info and SOCIAL LINKS would be wise before jumping into the Soul Gem experiments. We'll need the help of people who have experience with Witches and magical experimentation if we're going to make any progress. And we'll need to show Homura and co. we're trustworthy before we can assume they won't get upset with the subject of our work.

*sigh* Can we at least try easing our tensions with Homu before going further with Lutecia? (who may need a little bit more of private time)
