Firebird, a Worm AU/Xover?

Colin is already more on the case than Prof X~! *The world is tilting*, and oh hell these new girls are gang members?

Another teen betrayal will not go down well with Taylor, that bunker you're thinking of hiding in, wont be deep enough when Taylor snaps like a Slim Jim.:tongue::eek:

The simple fact that they're playing nice with each other means that they can't be in the major gangs. Rune has too much family history within the Nazis (unless her teenage rebellion is in not being racist) and Bakuda was in college when she earned the name.

Meh, I seen a story where rune was in a plausible friendship with Sophia. Bakuda is also part Asian, some Asians can look younger then they appear to be.

Technically, it would not be betrayal even if they are in gangs. As long as their offering of friendship is not false.

Noticed some more of Jean's influence when she considers talking to her Dad.

Clever girl @chibipoe.

Also, I totally knkw why all the gang members are scared of Colin. The dude is probably ripped as fuck from his Martial Arts training. His shirts probably look like they are about to burst at the seams.

Though, honestly I would laugh if those two are Rune and Bakuda.
Bakuda was a college student, so I doubt it. Plus, her civilian identity is probably known to the system, what with her taking the university hostage over a grade.

That said, Minako did imply that she's some type of empath... or it might be a red herring from the author.

One thing is certain however, Halbeard is awesome.
Chibireaper Chibipoe is very good at writing a more human, less stereotyped Armsmaster.
With this Colin and the Colin from Acceleration, it's easy to see how he managed to become the leader of the local Protectorate.

edit: too many chibis in this forum

Maybe those two girls are mutants from Marvel Earth's dimension and they've been sent as scouts to try and find the host of the Phoenix as they're the only members of the team sent who are high school age.

Chibireaper? did I suddenly enter into a gestalt with someone else? Who's the torso and who's the head? Why was I not told of this?

You're all thinking too shallow

Minako is Victor using his powers to steal absolute mastery of crossdressing to flawlessly disguise himself as a teenage Japanese girl (Othala is disturbingly, especially to the other E88, on board with this), Catherine is Bakuda, she's part Asian, but you'd never tell by looking.

Actually, according to what chibipoe said in the SB thread,
Catherine and Minako are Leviathan and Behemoth given human form because the Simurgh told them they had to do this for reasons.

See, Victor I can understand. Bakuda? Preposterous.

Clearly Catherine is Lung, his shard having realized that there's a new threat in town, and reacting accordingly. What no one in Worm understands is once he goes full dragon, with enough extra threat he loops around to a normal looking teenage girl.

Right of course, I've watched DBZ, I should have known. Bulk up and get increasingly monstrous then flip back to androgynous and elfin. And they're being nice because as far as Victor can tell he's talking to a white girl and as far as Lung can tell he's talking to a fellow Asian.

Now the question is...

Who's filling in for them when they're in school? Maybe Bakuda made a 'Lung' bomb?

Okay.

So Minako has been away, and recently returned. New trigger, anyone?
And I caught her slip with her name; Yor-something.
Put me in mind of Jubilee Lee of the Xmen, only she has no purple highlights.
Of course the name slip sounds more like a Lady Deathstrike expy.

As for Catherine, a green eyed girl with brown hair?
Kitty Pryde expy perhaps.
Or maybe the PF is just latching on to the closest analogues it can find without it's hosts knowledge?

And a non-specific, simultaneous rise in school tensions?
At the same time that Taylor is considering shaking up the social order?
Feels too coordinated, and at the same time too low key, to be the result of instructions from higher-ups.

Why do I think the Phoenix is taking a subtle hand in things by smoothing her way?
If the gangs are focused on each other after all, a third, nonaligned faction can rise without getting squashed.
Interested in seeing how this goes.
