I absolutely agree with you.

Under normal circumstances I'd get Rostam professional help and get him with his closest confidantes so that he can recover. And the same for Medea, because all that shit that the world keeps throwing at them have long made it so that they need professional help and just a chance to unwind. I don't like having to try and mash Rostam and Medea together and hope that something goes right, because normally that would be like step 5-6 out of ten in terms of mental recovery.

But that is the thing, this is anything but normal circumstances and Rostam doesn't have the time to get himself 100% fixed up. Saying that makes me feel terrible, but that is the truth. There are too many fires going around for him to do that, Medea, Blackbeard's crew, likely Penny and the Gorgon Sisters. We can't leave those fires unattended, because they are problems that compound on themselves.

We've already had two options to help him somewhat. Ranting at Marian and a moment of rapport with Arash. I dearly wish we could do more because they were not enough we all know that, but if past experiences hold true, then we might just have one choice left at this point, and we need to spend it on dealing with one of the fires.

Having Karna being KOed hurts. Not just because we lost one of our best servants, but we lost one of Rostam's main pillars of emotional support to, in his own eyes, mistaken judgement on his part and failures in oversight. And because of that, Rostam is not going to get his psychological footing back anytime soon, no matter what we do. The guilt of the situation and the lost is eating away at him, we've done what we can to patch him up, and we will need to keep doing it. Right now however, we do need to try and deal with the problems in our team, because that's a way for Rostam to feel productive and that's also a necessary bandage. If all he does is keep getting supportive people and talking with people who are obviously trying to help him feel better, he will feel coddled and in this situation that's very frustrating for him.

It will be a delicate rope, trying to balance the help we can get him, while having him actually confront the issues of his allies if only because it makes him feel like he's actually accomplishing something, rather than stew in his perceived failures as a leader and inadequacies as a Demi-Servant.

It's a shitty situation that we really didn't need while facing the Argo Mark 2 "Godslayers", but until Karna recovers or we score a major victory in Okeanos it's the one we are stuck with.

I choose Medea because as I said, Medea is the same as Rostam, but unlike Rostam who has people who are willing to approach him and he is at least able to move himself to seek out others, she's more inclined to sulk in her own corner and people aren't inclined to go see her and she's not inclined to listen to them anyways. There are maybe 3 people that might seek her out and who she'd be willing to listen, that being Karna, Chiron and Rostam. And of the three, two are down for the count, and it's entirely possible that she blames herself just as much as Rostam is blaming himself.

Now maybe a fellow demigod like Pollux might do the same and have some chance of success, but we don't know and we cannot gamble on an unknown.

We actually don't know much about him aside from the fact he hanged out with Karna and his myth. Could be good to see if he has any insights.

I just sort randomly started thinking about this quest and current events in it, and something hit me. I knew before and was fully aware, but somehow the fact just thrust itself into the forefront of my cognition, and its that Rostam and Karna match now.

I've been going back and forth on this for a while now, and I've decided to pick Medea. We do need to check on how she's holding up... Man, if every singularity escalates like this, how the fuck will we finish this quest?

We've been getting proportional team powerups with each as well.

...I wonder if we could get Medea to Rule Breaker Medea

Thing is, Medea is a lynchpin of this singularity, in a way. She counters Medea Lily, for starters, and there is probably something narratively weighty about her here.

And, well, the theme if this singularity so far seems to be "no things will not go our way", which probably means we cannot afford to care about Rostam more than about succeeding the mission.

So I noticed something

Awhile back I remember Zerban saying the kid way in the back in this shot was Rostam:
And I just realized that there's a kid in front who looks almost the exact same but with the hair flipped horizontally

Their eyes are totally shaped differently. They don't look the same at all. Rostam also has a much more delicate face.
