Fallen Fantasy Worldbuilding Thread (No SV, Help Cyber Go Insane in Fantasy Land Together)

Indeed now the real challenge is how not to be a landmine of a person these days.
And unfortounately, there are a LOT just waiting for some idiot to set off, and the Ymaryn are almost too adept for their own good in setting them off. With the almost being there because the are adept in somehow turning it to their advantage. :V

The rediscovery of the Star Axe is sooooo going to cause someone to destroy themselves, like the last two factions to use it.:rofl:

And also, there are likely other nations that would try and pick up on some of the tricks they have...

Ymaryn Kingdom
"King": Brynn The Reformer
Having helped lead the nation out of armageddon alongside other greats like King Bedwyr and Dragon General Dafydd she is a very talanted administrator even among her own people. she may not be as storied as other great leaders, but her keen mind and desire to renovate and reform shall be key in the uncertain future the nation is facing.

Land: This Is Our Dirt!
Their land is a very verdant one, filled with the sacred forests that supply their vast foundries with charcoal while keeping the land healthy. Their farms are bountiful, comparing surprisingly well in spite of the lack of automation and magic, sustaining impressive cities, and a sizable amount of specialists and scholars, with massive libraries detailing all the records the were able to gather from their world. But, they are massively lacking in supernatural resources and knowledge, and have only recently started walking the path of gunpowder. And to make matters worse, as wardens of the land, the would sooner collapse before letting any idiots try and take their land, and will not accept options that they know will harm their land, which will likely force inventiveness to make up for it in the relatively short term.

Rule: Ymaryn Bureaucracy!
The ymaryn people are very, VERY hardworking, and are legendary for their bureaucracy. Between their terrifying levies that are more accurately hordes of professional soldiers, the very well oiled machine that is their famed ironworks, producing what their world saw as masterworks at industrial scales through sheer manpower. The Ymaryn are organized and led via a massive, elite bureaucracy that ensures everything moves as smoothly as possible

The Ymaryn

Ideology: Elected monarchy

Power Scale: Secondary Power/Great Power?

Leader: Brynn The Reformer

Population: approximately 60 Million People(not counting possible fluctuations caused from people appearing from multiple points in their history)

Positive Traits:

The Fire is of Warm: The Ymaryn has a long and storied history of sowing chaos among their enemies. Ranging from mundane methods such as inspiring revolutions intended or not all the way up to accidentally effectively smiting a rival's whole entirely military via maths and a meteor. All at the low cost of spreading chaos.( Bonus to causing incidents to weaken enemies. Actions may have unintended consequences and special ones unlocked.)

This is My Dirt!: Taking care of their land is practically a divine duty to them. The priests are a vital aspect of their whole farming and forestry system, serving as advisors and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the land. This duty extends to nearly the whole population to the point that there is no faster way to make them a mortal enemy than take even a small bit of land, for they WILL do everything in their power and then some to take it back.( The Ymaryn are fiercely protective of their land, seeking to protect it from both bad practices and foreign invaders)

The Grand Ironworks: Very few groups can claim to produce the amount of iron tools that the Ymaryn does, and even fewer can say they do it without factories. And yet, the Ymaryn ironworks built up over the years since the discovery of iron boasts production at a scale even industrial powers can't help but respect.(The Ymaryn have massive access to iron tools, at a level that logically would only otherwise been achievable through the power of industrial processes.)

Ymaryn Bureaucracy: If there is one thing that the Ymaryn is famed for, it's their Bureaucrats. Their administrators are among the best in the field, and are the backbone of how nearly every aspect of society works. They help the food go where it's needed, and the fertilizer to the crops. They help every soldier be armed from the vast armory of Ymaryn-made equipment and keep them fed and watered. They keep the census up to date, a positively herculean task for such a large nation. And they do all that with just paper, quill, and an army of fellow bureaucrats.(Ymaryn has unparalleled ability in organization which is needed given the sheer scale the nation operates at)

Negative Traits:

The Fire is of Warm: The Ymaryn has a long and storied history of sowing chaos among their enemies. Ranging from mundane methods such as inspiring revolutions intended or not all the way up to accidentally effectively smiting a rival's whole entirely military via maths and a meteor. All at the low cost of spreading chaos.( Bonus to cause incidents. May have a bonus to handle ripple effects, but the power is still an agent of chaos.)

This is My Dirt!: Taking care of their land is practically a divine duty to them. The priests are a vital aspect of their whole farming and forestry system, serving as advisors and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the land. This duty extends to nearly the whole population to the point that there is no faster way to make them a mortal enemy than take even a small bit of land, for they WILL do everything in their power and then some to take it back.(The Ymaryn will be slower to adopt new methods, as they will refuse methods that would hurt the land. As well as the fact they are duty bound to retake any land they lost, even if it means tearing themselves apart in the process.)

Vestiges of arrogance: Even after the very painful reality check that was the Mongols, and the fall of the revanchist party. There is still remnants that need shook off, combined with the fact reforms to shake off institutional rust and open social mobility are still ongoing, something which may still face pushback. (The nation is in the middle of a major reform process, and so still face some problems from their age of arrogance.)

Still Only Human: While one may be forgiven on focusing on the famed administration, and the grand forge works. They are still a nation of humans, without any advanced tech and/or magic to bridge the gap between human baseline and what is now possible. This is especially important among their soldiers, as even before counting raw power gap, they had a long history of being outmatched individually, with only the banners formed after their collapse managing to get to a similar level. Their Administrators, while they are unparalleled among most human factions, are mostly able to keep up with their overall workload by sheer numbers. The Smiths, while reliable producing high quality at absurd numbers, with their grand smiths making carbon nanotubes with great effort, they pale in comparison to any truly elite smith, being limited by physics, and their admittedly insanely optimized kilns( For all their numbers, they don't quite have the same quality others roughly in their power level have. )

(Should anyone learn the truth of your regency and various works, You will gain a -20 to all rolls with that character, )

"The Worse Qualities are my Best" Cersei is a selfish glutton, drunkard and cruel woman who is prone to looking like a paranoid lunatic to the outside observer, and while the work of various factors have made her cut down on her worse qualities to an extent, they were never gotten rid of . (Cersei will need to roll a d6 if she indulges in her vices. On a 1, she indulges in drink, on a 2 she indulges in food , 3 sex and 4 in her own cruelty, on a 5 she indulges in all of them, on a 6 she restrains herself. When indulging in a vice it causes her to have a -5 to that roll, also halve your intrigue until you overcome your shortcoming.)

"Templar Neophyte"-The Templar Order (For whatever reason that filled their heads) decided to make Cersei a Neophyte member, and train her, its actually been working out so far. (+1 all stats, +10 to all rolls that give the Templars more influence, +5 to combat rolls and spotting assassinations)

Yeah...no. Especially on that last one.

Cersei is not nearly as smart as she believes herself to be, especially not regarding Intrigue.

In fact, I would even say that she is a short-sighted idiot.

Damn it I knew I was forgetting something from the traits, I forgot her vices dulled her to be an idiot.

True, she's unparralledly lucky though, for the first like three books.
In fact, I would even say that she is a short-sighted idiot.
Indeed, how she charmed the Templar's into making her a Neophye we may never know...

But with luck and a lot of strangely good decision, Cersei can be forced to become competent as all get out, the problem is getting there.

And the potential exists for the most terrifying thing in the world a Compitent Cersei.

Sorry about Cersei being competent the dice confused me, the big thing with Cersei is Potential, or rather, her wasted potential as a person, and with some work she can reclaim it...

As for the rest, well I have a little surprise for you...

Its finally time to go to the worst place in the world...

Sorland from Suzerain...and it just barely qualifies for three reasons.

1. its in a struggling system and hasn't reached any of its potential, and unlike say Lucian Kingdom from ff15 is a mess.

2. We have an army that needs to be modified and sorted out.

3. The Fish Out of water Comedy of a barely functioning Cold War state interacting with fantasy elements is...hilarious.

Okay Gang...sorry for the quiet, but things are finally quieting down.

Industrial ERAs...the level of actual productive capabilities that a nation has.

Neolithic: Sticks, Stones, and Fire.

Bronze Age:The Early Metallurgy and Economic Structures within the Society, beginning of Trade and the like.

Iron Age: Advanced metalworking, and the formation of cottage economies and services.

Early Modern: Early Capitalism and proto industrialization, advanced Capitalism and economic Structures.

Industrial: A Mostly growing and booming Industrial SOciety.

and

Mid Industrial: 1890s to World War two era levels of Industrial growth.

The Copperhead Gang.

Ideology: Bandit franchising

Power Scale: Secondary Power/Great Power?

Leader: Doc Vostrikov

Population: roughly 300 core members? Unknown amount from franchising

Positive Traits:
Fearsome Reputation: Before the Hope River coalition, there was no one that could have hoped to compete against the Copperhead Gang, and their indisputable control of the west. While that may have been in the past, people still remember when the west was the copperhead gang's playground.(Your reputation provides a Malus to enemy morale rolls, and may instantly proc a morale roll when identified)

By The Power Of Franchising!: The Copporhead gang has greatly shrunk since it's first golden age. But the Lieutenant had discovered the power of franchising. By getting others to pay for the honor of using the copperhead name, and offering equipment/dress to look the part, the group can effectively operate at far greater scales than otherwise possible.(

Distributed Organization: Thanks in part to the genius of franchising, the organization is surprisingly resilient, with most branches operating with near full independence minus the deliveries.(Operations are far less effected by strikes elsewhere in the system)

Negative Traits:
Disfunctional leadership:The only leaders of the organization is a tired con man, a coward and a businessman. The former is largely uninvolved in spite of being the leader and the Lieutenants are at each others' throats bickering, with one or both planning on betraying their leader.(The core group is barely even functional, and a power struggle is pretty much inevitable.)

Limited Control:The nature of franchising means outside the core members, there is little ability to influence what will be done.(Franchisees are more independent than most forces. Meaning limited ability to direct the core of the Copperhead's strength.)

The Hope River Problem: The force that ended the first reign of the Copperhead Gang, the Hope River Coalition. Starting as only a small group of people scammed into a useless piece of land called Hope River, they quickly built up and formed a coalition that virtually wiped out the whole gang.(They have a powerful enemy in the form of the Hope River Coalition, whom gets a bonus to fighting Copperheads and can spread the bonus to other groups.)

So. In North America we got High Elves and Dark Elves, magical ponies, a tribal coalition, a war between Santa Anna's Mexico and Texas over Texan Independence. And then we got these guys whom got the genius idea of franchising, as a criminal GANG. At least their natural enemy is the protag town Hope River.

So, ani ideas how things may look over there, and characters/groups that would either work as copperhead franchisees or as mercs for hire to deal with the bandit epidemic?

Greek Gods may be around? Or dead if Kratos is in the setting. Though minor ones may be lead by Aphrodite and Athena now. They may be at war.
Not a god but Angel: Azrael Archangel of Death is very busy. Maybe they are uniting the death deities like The Stranger, Hel and others to guard the afterlives
Lucifer may be taking over other hells and might pulling a mandela catalog on the remaining Christians
Adam the First Man might be leading a angelic resistance with his wife and posible ex one too. Depends on what works we have in the setting.

Greek Gods may be around? Or
Yes they are in the process of trying to kill other gods to get that monopoly.
Angel: Azrael Archangel of Death is very busy. Maybe they are uniting the death deities like The Stranger, Hel and others to guard the afterlives
Mandos is very very busy same with them.
Lucifer may be taking over other hells and might pulling a mandela catalog on the remaining Christians
Adam the First Man might be leading a angelic resistance with his wife and posible ex one too. Depends on what works we have in the setting.
Indeed.
