It was time to figure out how to enchant your broomstick. It had been your dream to fly away on it for your adolescent years, but you never got around to it. But you felt stronger now, more in charge of yourself. Instead of following a spellbook, you were performing your own spells and succeeding at it. You realized that you could probably just do it if you tried. So you did try. You sat down with your giant feather, your broomstick, and Gunther out in a quiet corner of the airplane hanger, as you weren't going back to the airship right now.
You held the broom and the feather in each hand, quietly chanting a prayer of freedom to Doana as you felt the feather begin to wither in your hand. After a few minutes, you looked back to it, and it was just a small pile of dust in your hand. The broomstick felt energetic, however. Powerful, almost. You weren't really sure how you knew. You uncrossed your legs and stood up again, tucking the stick between your legs, realizing you should probably find some different way to sit if you were gonna be doing this regularly, and jusr mentally commanded the stick to fly, like telling your own body to jump. To your surprise, you lifted off the ground, and started to rise into the air. "Oh, fuck yes." You quietly laughed, lowering yourself back down to the hanger floor. This would definitely be coming in handy sometime soon.
You went back to the quartermaster's office for some new supplies next. You were going up against the goths, yet again. You couldn't handle the situation of being boarded the same way as last time, clearly. Sure, you had a revolver, but considering your opponent last time was able to hang on when you flipped your plane three times in a row, you were unsure if something so low caliber would even stop them. You bought a sawed off shotgun, which was recommended to you as the most effective-to-budget anti-boarding weapon, a new helmet, and while you were there a pair of polarized goggles to replace your previous set that has been smashed against your dashboard. Polarized lenses basically completely filtered out glare from the sun, and made it way easier to spot things when you weren't constantly squinting from looking above you. You'd discovered by now you had a habit of spotting things a second too late, so hopefully these would help with that.
Finally, you snuck back onto the airship after you saw Riya leave for whatever pre-flight ritual she had. You needed another focus for your air magic. Unfortunately, there was only one thing you could think of you had an emotional connection to that you could bring in a mission. Keeping your hand over your face the entire time to use your ability of passing unseen, you quickly entered Riya's room, and searched it for that blue scarf you bought for her all those weeks ago. Goddesses, you'd changed since then, and you easily weren't at your final stage of development. You found it in the trunk beneath her bed, stuffed it in your bag, and made sure not to leave anything different than when you walked in before sneaking out again to make your final preflight checks with Edgar.
Alright! So, going into battle this time is gonna be a bit different. You finally get to start with an advantage since it'll be an ambush! You'll be very close to the ground, however. Now let's vote on the advantage you start with!
[ ] Start with an altitude advantage (against the small amount of aircraft)
[ ] Spot the enemy and act when they're unaware (Say what Edgar will try to blast/bomb before the real battle starts)
[ ] Catch the enemy spread out (Only be shot at by AA guns or Aircraft, never both in one round)
[ ] Come in behind your foe (Unfortunately impossible)
