English history is, like, my jam. It's sort of depressing, in it's own way, that that's all off the top of my head, no book consulting required. Fuck, I need a life.

I mean it's cool you can rattle stuff off like that, I was relying on vague high school English class memories! I would've had to do a google dive to come up with something as coherent.

Good points on the pretenders. I'm getting ahead of myself again, but my pie in the Sky dream is to dump this all on young Griff (irrespective of whether he's our actual nephew or not) and live out our days as The Most Interesting Man in the World.

It will feel like a cheap cop out if we don't take the throne for Viserys tbh.

Not if we have an empire waiting in Essos we built ourselves. And alternatively we could take it, hold onto it long enough to kill everyone who wronged our family, dump it on the successor of choice and then peace out. We don't have to die on it, just take it and our vengeance.

I think there is a few things about Ser Jorah Mormont that will help you in this situation:

1. Jorah is Diplomatically inept and very blunt. He is very much awkward and not the best at choosing his words. That is on display here. However, he is honest, and absolutely a man you want on your side, as he always gives sound advice from a well of experience that he has had over the last few decades, both wandering the world, and fighting as a bannerman of the Ned.

2. The things Valarr has done, are genuinely (to most people in Westeros and Essos) insane or at very least, impulsive and short-sighted. Most men don't willingly go to Valyria to hunt for treasure, especially using a source like a pirate who kidnapped you to get there. Especially jumping into the Smoking Sea, and swimming onto the lands of hostile wildlife on the planet. Etc.

The fact that he succeeded, and is insanely rich only adds to a small rumor that he is genuinely off his rocker (one which Viserys couldn't stop, BTW)

3. Jorah was drunk when talking to you. Viserys actually didn't notice because he was surprised about the Bear in his house, drinking his ale, wanting to talk to him.

Point of order! We are rich. When rich people do things like swim to a death island or name their children X Æ A-12, that doesn't make them insane, it makes them eccentric.
We may be rich, but we aren't (I can buy a kingdom) Rich that some of the other merchants are.

At the time the rumor started that is.

Then we got decked out in Valyrian steel.

I don't trust Stark. He as fickle as a Reed in the wind. Yay, I give it one year before he is plotting independence against us.

I kind of see where Ned is coming from. It took Rome three Punic wars and Hannibal crossing the frigging alps to get to the point of salting Carthage. The Ironborn weren't some existential threat to Westeros. Just a bunch of jackass raiders. Not to mention that relationship was already damaged considering that Robert approved of baby murder and it only healed, in canon, after the Ironborn Rebellion. Robert, his childhood friend, is dead. In his place is a man who committed a grand atrocity.

Yeah, especially from a standpoint of "Quellion just tried to make peace with the Greenlanders for nearly forty years, and was on the track of at least trying to reform Their society in a small way."

Especially when the damage to the mainland force is Seaguard's outer walls, Lannisports fleet, and the Royal navy being thrashed a little.

Like Really, Robert lost almost nothing in the grand scheme of things while the Ironborn got thoroughly trounced and set back years.

i think Ned has seen the man he once knew was dead, and replaced by a monster wearing his face.

Valarr IX: The Greatness of One
Valarr IX: The Greatness of One

-[X]Expand Your Web: You will find information that will be valuable in all the cites, and hopefully, use it to your advantage. Rolled:1D100 => 81+55=136

You expanded your web into Pentos, Norvos, and Lorath… Braavos is proving far trickier than you imagine.

But you cracked that beast.

All the Free cities now had information flowing to you.

Reward: You now have a spy network in all the free cities. You can now decapitate the Spider's Spy network in Essos.

-[X]The Lion and the Viper: Tyrion Lannister and Oberyn Martell… a strange pair walking into the city. Rolled: 1D100 => 79+25=104

You were thankful to be at the top of your game when it came to paying attention. Otherwise, you would have missed the two men trying to kill each other.

Jaime was unarmored, with only a Valyrian steel sword as protection from the spear-wielding Martell, who, as you could tell from the great pains and acrobatics he was doing, he was going in for the kill.

"What is this madness!?" You shouted, raising your voice, stopping the two men from… well the blades that were mere inches from their throats were every bit as deadly.

You were quite certain that both men were about to kill each other in the same strike.

It was then you saw the man you were certain was looking for you when he wasn't on adventures of his own.

Prince Oberyn Martell.

You frowned at the man who was, by all accounts, hot-headed, but always acted with his heart in the right place… after he had tried everything else… and sleeping with the daughters of those he was trying to with.

At least that was what you had heard from the favorable rumors. The less than favorable rumors were… less than favorable.

A drinker, a whore, a man who was quick to anger and even quicker on the draw. A man who was known to hold grudges that were… deadly to say the least.

You knew he had killed at least 50 men in duels both in Dorne and around the Free cities. And many more with poison.

But you suspected many more had died to that man, but Ser Jaime was not going to be one of them.

"Prince Oberyn." you said his name quietly as the man gazed at you. "You would strike a man in employ?" You asked.

"Rhaegar?" He whispered before he shook his head, his rage leaving his eyes. It was like he was seeing a ghost.

"I am not my brother, nor the man that married your sister." You replied calmly. "Now put the spear down, and we shall talk."

"Wretched manners, Prince Oberyn apologies to my brother immediately." That was when you saw the Dwarf… an ugly, wretched thing with a misshapen face, and a large forehead, with short, and wiry hair. He wore a red shirt and brown pants that were made for him. "Than we can drink to the health of our, esteemed host."

"Tyrion?" Ser Jaime looked confused. "You're traveling with him?" He sounded disgusted, almost revolting against his body at the mere thought of his brother traveling with Prince Oberyn.

"Yes, after a brief affair involving spears and knives, along with copious amounts of women, we decided that our animosity would be better served… not against each other." The Dwarf replied. "Besides, we discovered we have much in common… at least involving our preference of Whores."

There was much confusion amongst the group of men, but you decided enough was enough. You grabbed a bottle of Arbor Gold. "Gentlemen… I'm going to need details." You poured yourself a cup. "Copious details."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Their adventures were… to put it lightly… much less grand than your own. "You went to Valyria, being kidnapped by pirates, swam to shore? And then you met Uncle Gerion?" Tyrion was enthralled by the tale of you and his big brother braving Valyria. He must have heard Brightroar being reclaimed because he was not surprised by the great treasure trove of reclaiming Tommen's Body.

Their adventures were… just drinking, whoring and fighting whoever came in their way… Well Oberyn did the fighting, and both did the drinking and the whoring.

"So why are you looking for me, Prince Oberyn?" You asked. "You're not going to take me to Dorne and what? Crown me there?"

"I was sent by my brother to find you, and examine your fortunes, assist you financially before I go home with a report." He replied.

"And you Lord Tyrion?" You asked facing the Dwarf.

"I'm trying to find my brother, and hopefully bring him home." He replied. "Though I can now see that circumstances have changed dramatically since you left home."

Jaime nodded. "Indeed."

There were words left unspoken between everyone. "So your telling me that you have a plan to put me back on the throne?"

Oberyn nodded. "Yes… a small conspiracy, but one that Doran, and Lord Stark are keenly aware of."

"Openly?" You asked.

"Of course not. Though the Spider's network is clearly with flaws, seeing as you all but destroyed the Birds in Lys." Oberyn nodded.

"Any other supporters besides Prince Doran and Lord Stark?" You asked.

"Not as many as you may believe. Almost all of Westeros fears Robert, for if they rise against him, he may destroy them as the Greyjoys." He replied. "They have every reason to support you, but not the will to do so."

Tyrion nodded. "The stories surrounding Robert are… great and many. They say he brought the entire tower of Pyke down with his war hammer." He took a drink. "A song and a lie to be sure, but the point stands. They think he will kill them all, and replace them if they were to rise against them."

"And why hasn't he done so?" You asked.

"He doesn't know he can," Tyrion stated. "Robert Baratheon is many things, but a shrewd politician is not one of them. If he believed he could scourge the iron born and replace them with his own like he most certainly could in his victory… he would have. Instead, he leaves a broken man on Pyke, and region in ruin."

"So he only believes he cannot reshape the realm into his own image when he in fact can?" You stated.

"A small miracle." Oberyn drank as he said those words. "Else the Userper would have marched on Dorne and destroyed us."

You sighed. "You must be tired then, Prince Oberyn, Lord Tyrion. Rest in my home, it is the least I can do for such… friends of my family."

Reward: You learn that Robert may soon greatly centralize his rule, and commit a great purge of any dissidents that may still not accept his family's claim and rule on the Iron Throne.

And he will be cheered by his realm for doing it.

Tyrion and Oberyn are staying for a turn, but you cannot recruit them, for they have their parts to play in Westeros.

-[X]The Merchant Identity: You want to put your name as an investor in a Caravan to Braavos. Finally, cement yourself as a true merchant prince of the city. Rolled:1D100 => 96+5=101

You had bought the entire Caravan out. And then filled it with goods that you knew would turn a profit.

And you were right. The markets of Myr were great in profits.

And you were a true merchant.

Reward: +1,000,000 Gold Dragons.

The Merchants in Lys treat you with respect.

Gain Title: Merchant Prince: You are a master Merchant, and is treated as such in all cities that trade in goods or coin.

-[X]The Golden Skulls: The Golden Company arrived in the city, to collect on a contract… You want to see who is leading the party. They are recruiting… and there is an interesting boy, among them. A boy with Purple eyes, and Blue hair. Rolled: 1D100 => 18+5=23

You did not get the chance to meet the Company…

They left on a contract to Norvos.

Failure.

-[X]Choose a Hobby: You wish to have a hobby, something to take the edge off of all the stress. (Write in below of what that hobby is)
--[X] Fine Arts- painting, calligraphy, poetry, music, dance, theater, etc. Rolled:1D100 => 1+5=6

You failed, as you tried to relax, something stirred you to great fury and anger. The arts were… just difficult to grasp. With so much danger… you just couldn't sit still to enjoy it.

Failure.

Gain Trait: Stressed: Life is hard and you cannot deal with it well. Your moods are swinging because you cannot relax. (You are stressed. -10 to all rolls)

-[X]Speak to Dany: Dany wants to spend time with you. Something about a… the parlor where she sings. Rolled:1D100 => 29+5=32

Dany was afraid of your mood swings and said that when you calmed down.

Failure

-[X]Train in Martial (Command): You will study the masters of old, learn their secrets, their strengths and avoid their weaknesses. Thankfully Ser Jaime is competent at the craft. Rolled:1D100 => 3+5=8

You are utterly hopeless at training in command.

Failure.

-[X]Train in Administration (Stewardship): You need to be a good lord. And that means being able to handle coin. And it would help sell the Merchant Prince that is playing in your head. Rolled: 1D100 => 22+5=27

You could not for the life od you, focus… you want to rest!

Failure.

-[X]Train in Spycraft: She will learn to be as bold as you are in telling a lie. Rolled:1D100 => 4

Dany has no aptitude for the craft. At least at the moment.

Failure.

-[X]Train in Diplomacy: She will learn how to be a diplomat. She's certainly better than you are. Rolled: 1D100 => 32

Dany is… enjoying being a child, playing around, singing, entertaining those around her with antics and glee.

You wouldn't take that away from her… Not yet at least. You're going to let her have that moment before it becomes a memory.

Failure

-[X]Feelings: Dany is… very puzzled by how she feels. She is having trouble remembering who she truly is. She thinks it is a lie, that you told her. You need to remind her that she is a Dragon of Targaryen. And that you are trying to keep her safe. Rolled:1D100 => 74

It took you all you had to speak to her in a calm manner. It was… difficult for you.

But you told her how important it was to… wear a mask… but that she must remember that masks are not meant to be worn all the time.

They have to come off.

Reward: Dany will not have… identity issues in the future.

Disaster Roll:1D100 => 33-50= (-)27

It appears that… the Merchants of Lys have given you something.

A great something… on their own accord for your grand wealthy ventres.

An offer to buy the grandest ship in the world.

But one gave you a gift that made you feel uneasy.

A Fighting Slave, named Beshka the Basilisk.

Reward: New action Available.

Your Retinue Expands: Beshka the Basilisk has joined.

AN: Enjoy.

The Next update will have our negotiations with the Ned.
