[Exalted, ?] Most High

[X] The Peerless City
[X] The Lathe of Heaven
[X] The Fairest

Meh, fine, alright, we'll go for the Quadruple Crown.

I just think it isn't as nice sounding as a Triple Crown though!

Wont most of the option be kinda worthless without the Reincarnation Planning option?
Peerless city: dont recognize Ulyssian and we cant enter and live. Lathe: Without the memories and knowledge from the reincarnation Ulyssian will probably be unable to finish it in the few years he have. Fairest: No knowledge and harder to find the secret elder sid that was best friends(?) with Odyssial.

The Lathe of Heaven and The Fairest are must picks because when combined they make it so Odyssial traumatized everyone in existence permanently. From there it's a toss up between the peerless city and reincarnation and I just can't see someone as competent as Odyssial not accounting for his reincarnation especially with the end warning from the fairest.

If we choose both fairest and peerless city,Can we finish the city in time?.

Would Fairest help at that?

Get the final friend, the would-be second axis of creation, and get the reincarnation in line.

@Rihaku for an Odyssial vs how about the Gunstar shard where the Unconquered Sun turned against the Host with Odyssial as he was at the end of the Primordial War?

You mean if he was ported over to the Gunstar shard? I suppose he'd start murdering Primordials, even if he can't get past the Aegis he can easily defend against the UCS, and / or just be where he isn't.

I would rather avoid reaching Heartlessness 10.

The Fairest gives us a nice plot hook and a Elder Sidereal on our side that bypassed the wracking. Which means that combined with Leanope we have 2 of the strongest beings in Creation that will favor us. Odds are we won't find her but the effects on creation will favor us anyway. Getting the N/A swords is also nice.

I'm really curious what the Lathe of Heaven is. It is likely as horrifying as it is awe inspiring.

The combined effect of the two options will be hilarious.

Odyssial's attempt at recreating Creation, surpassing the work of the Primordials.
Voting for the same options three times in a row? Despite playing a Dawn Caste, we've clearly slipped into the Twilight Zone.

It's more that I've accepted that I won't get the exact build I'd have liked, so I'll strive to make the best of what we have.

I don't want to play as Odyssial. I mean, this prelude has been pretty cool and all but in the second age, I want to see Ulyssian having the fragmented memories of the most powerful exalted to have ever existed and try and deal with them.

I want to see The Fae, the Yozi, The inhabitants of Yu Shan, and the Solar Host cry in terror at the slightest hint that Odyssial is back, even if in the form of a newly exalted Solar Ulyssian.

I want that N/A Artifact sword that we'll be storing in our anima and I want to see how having it would affect Ulyssian since I can only assume that it would be one of the most sought out weapons in Creation if its existence was well-known enough that its legend survives into the second age.

In short, Odyssial is cool and all but his story ends with the Usurpation. Now it's Ulyssian's turn to face the legacy of his predecessor and carve his own ideals into the world. Even if they are similar, they are two different people who lived in two different ages.

I hate reincarnations where the reincarnated character throws away his present self and pull on the mantle of a ghost of the past.

Why the fuck is it that Odyssial story ends with the Usurpation. Why is people thinking of such a thing?

Some things don't have an end. That Odyssial whole gimmick. He ALWAYS Finds a way.

His story doesn't end, per se, but it does become Ulyssian's story. I like Odyssial, but don't want to play as him at the cost of Ulyssian. Isn't it enough to have his soul and Exaltation? Must we also have his memories and goals?

Let's maximize Ulysean's benefits here.
No more heartlessness, and the benefit we know we will get.
There's no guarantee we will find or get to any of the secret staches, so I don't want high Ruthlessness for something we won't see.

Man, so much hate for reincarnation. It's not like he will be reborn as a super-Exalt, it says he'll only possess a fraction of his power and memories at most. What exactly is so bad about knowing what he set out to do?

Ulyssian had TWO fucking quests. It's time for Odyssial to have a turn. I'm not playing the same character 3 times.
That is, of course, your call to make. I and a number of others are still interested in playing as him, however; even if the reincarnation planning doesn't win, Odyssial will certainly still feature in the story. Same soul, same Exaltation. You could technically argue that no matter what we do they're still the same person, because of continuity of consciousness. It's not an end, it's a transformation.

Even if we get a perfect reincarnation we still got options. Reading the action it sounds like that even in that event we will get to pick things to keep and not. Do we really want to throw away all the preparations that Odyssial made for his successor? With how we been choosing Ulyssian might be even worse of then last time. At least then they seemed to recognize him as Odyssial´s reincarnation.

While the theme of transformation ibto a better person is interesting to think about, i fear we will be throwing away most of our work in the prologue if we didnt have perfect reincarnation.

Uh, there's one absolute, competely imposible to fake thing that Ulyssian is guaranteed to have.

Namely, the Unfinished (Now Finished) Blade, which Ulyssian is guaranteed to have access to, and has no match, the magnum opus of the Most High, the one weapon he used above all others.

In other words, Absolutely the most perfect sign of him being the reincarnation possible.

The concern is that an overly precise reincarnation will destroy our beloved protagonist of quests past.

That was due to his physical resemblance to Odyssial, which triggered the latent social Charms embedded in Lytek's consciousness. Since we were an Infernal that time around and still got recognized, I sincerely doubt that we're going to do worse if we're still a Solar.

Just to be clear, even a perfectly reincarnated Odyssial does not have ALL of Odyssial's memories. He does not even have most of them, nor would he 'overwrite' Ulyssian's memories. If you add information to a person, does he change? Yes. Does he become someone else entirely? That is difficult to say. Odyssial reincarnating perfectly will not remove Ulyssian's memories, nor will it bury them under Odyssial's own emotions. It would be more like a fusion, with opportunities to pick up more of Odyssial's memories as the story advanced.

FU - SION - HAAA!
