[X] You've Made Your Point
If we're trying to save Creation, let's not kill it's defenders without good reason.

[X] Studying For the Naval Exam

[X] Tepet Number Five

The Naval exam is something we plan to do: at least it's Zao's plan. Let's put the effort up front while we have time.
We already owe Nilul favors: let's pay one back when it is easy to do so.

Could we ask her if she concedes? While she'll certainly resent us for killing her friends, and will still believe us Anathema, having her publicly declare that she was wrong and we aren't Anathema is a powerful instrument to have. If she doesn't, we fulfill the original terms of the combat. If he does, we have on record that we are not anathema and play it for gaining some social points for "not wanting to waste the life of a servant of the Realm" or something like that. :p

[X] Execute Her

This person is not our friend and never will, letting her live just lets the bronze faction have one more body later that they can throw at Uly/Ody and this one knows how he fights. So lets kill this dragon now and be done with it. Not that I think this will win SV got this utterly freakish habit of wanting to keep their enemies alive, sometimes more then they want to keep their allies alive.

[X] Intense Training
[X] Field Trip

Five stress is a bit much and we promised to stay away from Moon so that option is out. So lets go on a fun Field Trip.

[X] You've Made Your Point - Four Dragons died today who could have protected the Realm. Let it end at four. [Unknown effects, possibly negative effects]

[X] Tepet Number Five - Nilul has devised a scheme to cheat the Cynis casino on nearby Shimmering Opal island. She is attempting to recruit co-conspirators. Moon has already reluctantly agreed, as she owes Nilul too many favors, and you think Saery is going as well. She needs two more, and would like you to be one of them.

[X] Studying For the Naval Exam - You must pick this option at least two times in the months to come, if you want to pass. You must pick it at least five times if you want to pass with flying colors. Passing with flying colors will make placement easier, if you intend to go into the Navy.

We need to spend some time with our friends and I think 1 Stress shouldn't be too bad.

I noticed Saery refers to him as Odyssial, was that a mistake? Also guess everyone underestimated her, should she feel happy or sad about that i wonder?

[X] Execute Her

Tried to think of a reason to spare her, failed.

[X] Tepet Number Five

A bit of evening the scales wouldn't go amiss I'd say.

[X] Growing Ambition

More Combat is always useful!

No.

No mercy. This is a duel to the death. Let everyone know NOT to fuck with Odyssial. They decided to fight Ulyssian with a force that fights Solar Circles. Even if he was dragon blooded and exalted years ago, it's still unfair.

Such an unfair battle in normal circumstances. They wanted to execute us but we executed them. It's that simple. Kill her and gain XP.

To be fair, they are the lackeys of the Bronze Faction, and the Earth Aspect clearly said you were to be free of suspicion only if you prevailed against them all ina duel to the death. What if you, like, used your Anathema magics to SEDUCE the innocent abbess or something!?

This would be a pretty big favor to pay back. But it's also kinda risky, especially from a social standpoint.

Whoops! I misinterpreted the vote!

Yeah, five studies in one month is excessive.

Would be a pretty epic cramming session, though.

She's about to die, you think she'll probably say whatever. Whether she means it, of course...

Ahhh, beautiful. Yeah, I think we can expect attacks against us to be a little less bold and direct the next time. :D

Anyway, Rihaku, do you want that I PM you the typo-hunt? Or do you want them in this thread? I'm thinking of doing the preludes in a one go, then later moving to the others.

Alright, my understanding is that these choices are for the first month of our training, and as such I shall vote according to that understanding and spend only 1 stress at this juncture.

EDIT @Rihaku what do we know about Saery's hobbies and specialties?

She likes mortals, and Medicine. She's a good-hearted lass.

Why does no one want to kill your enemies? Are you so cavalier with "unknown, possibly negative effects?"

You guys don't care that this is highly illegal, likely to attract Cynis legbreakers, will displease the Cynis House which is allied to Sesus, and possibly unethical as well?

PMing would be nice, but whichever you prefer.

While my kneejerk reaction is to vote for executing her, let`s try to be merciful for once. And if it comes back to bite us in the ass later, I swear to god, whenever the choice comes up again in this or later Rihakus quests, everyone and everything is going to die. No exceptions.

[X] You've Made Your Point

...Can we push the question of whether to kill her or not onto Zao? As though we were the Gladiator and he the Emperor? Would he even appreciate us doing so? I think that could go either way, but it'd be an interesting way to go...

Are you so cavalier with "unknown, possibly negative effects?"
It's that damn Mystery Box option man, We don't know what's in it but we MUST FIND OUT!!! :p

You guys could try to objectively reason out the consequences of sparing her. Most can be derived pretty easily, I think.

I doubt he'd appreciate that. Obviously, if you make it out to be a choice, rather than you just killing an enemy, he'll be obligated to spare her!

A poor instinct to have.

Honestly, we barely got the XP to spend on. We might as well pace ourselves in XP spending. No point wasting stress on training time if we don't got the XP to spend. We kinda need 360K XP 6 times, which would be about 2,160,000 XP if we want to maximuze Training.

If we got the XP, we can use training time but no. We just don't got the XP. We going to run out in a month or two and the what?

Eh, not to much, If the Cynis get pissed, well this would be a good opportunity for the Sesus to do us a solid after trying to throw us under the bus. Which I feel after our display they may be looking for an opportunity to do.

Besides, no guarantee we'll get caught right? We could even possibly point the blame on someone else like the Mnemon.

Obviously, if you make it out to be a choice, rather than you just killing an enemy, he'll be obligated to spare her!
Not if we use that secret Student/Master language thing that was developed in the Omakes and Stunt write-ins. Then nobody knows what's going through Uly's head as he choses whether to moiderize her or not!

Trying to work around Moon in Tepet Number Five could be awkward, especially if Nilul feels like making a point - but we really need to do some give for our friends if we want to keep them.

And if we want to save the world instead of destroy it, we need to keep them.

If Ulyssian spares the Water Caste does that invalidate the entire combat? They DID say that he'd have to murder the lot of them to be accounted properly Dragon-Blooded.
Look, that claim is only going to have so much weight behind it anyway. Yes, leaving her alive weakens it further, and means the Immaculates and the Hunt will be after us again that much sooner - but establishing that we can show mercy, that being against us once doesn't mean we'll forever after be trying to kill you - that's valuable with anyone we ever work with or want to work with, especially as more figure out that we're Anathema. Which is going to happen.

I don't think we're going to be able to save the world in the end without ever breaking cover, so let's not spend too much social currency on maintaining that mask, hey?

And if it comes back to bite us in the ass later, I swear to god, whenever the choice comes up again in this or later Rihakus quests, everyone and everything is going to die. No exceptions.
Every choice comes back to bite us later. No exceptions.

The only question is where and when it bites, and how hard.

Leaning towards killing her just because I don't see a particularly good one not to do so.
Showing we are capable of mercy or some crap like that is all well and good, but she's a definite enemy of ours, mercy isn't all that highly valued a trait in the Realm and a lot of the image we just tried to cultivate in order to explain our eagerness for murder is the image of Sesus brutality.
Also that XP.

Outside of that, I'm tempted to just stick with Naval Studies and maybe Ivory this month.
Associating with Moon et al has obvious issues in the very first month, without having had other scenes to accumulate more XP yet there is little point to taking on Stress just to spend more of our relatively small reserves and the Ivory action I'm on the fence about because we're still not that strong and might need to spend Stress later on.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

This is why you don't fuck with Ulyssian/Odyissial. We haven't even been an Exalt for a week and we just wrecked 5 Shikaris which is enough to take down a beginning Solar circle by ourselves.

We need send a message to everyone not to fuck with us. The girl is about to potentially bleed out anyways and won't become our ally even if we spare her. Killing her now means the Bronze Faction has one less tool. A toll that has fought us before and thus can somewhat gauge our abilities and what we do which could make things more difficult for us in the long run.The additional XP will also help.

Plus Rihaku said there could be negative consequences if we spare her. I'd rather not risk this because we spared someone who came specifically to kill us with what would normally be overkill for a beginning Solar and won't become our ally. Too much risk for little reward.
