Evolved Skies

[X] Some Slina gained the ability to flatten themselves. This lets them slip through cracks to avoid predators, and glide short distances to allow them to hunt prey that float further out from the ruins, such as Vent Blamps.

[X] Some Slina evolve the ability for their two heads to split apart from and reattach to each other, so that if one half of the Slina is attacked the other half might be able to escape.

Hmm, I'm thinking some cluster blamps grow even smaller while growing long tentacles that let them float like baby spiders do, maybe with a sticky patch on the ends to attach groups of them together.

Then I can think of two filter feeders based on the mega/tent blamp both needing a multi gasbag system as a start, one has them flattening out and gaining a slight dome/bowl shape with something hanging from the bottom, this type would have gas bags around the edges and could also be developed from vent blamps now that I think of it.

The other type has the tent blamp grow massively in diameter but even more so in length and start gaining a hard shell thus restricting its ability to photosynthesize, to compensate the shells have cavernous openings/tunnels with some form of filter feeder mechanism, the 'problem' is that they grow longer from the ends rather than the center so the filter 'mouths' eventually lose efficacy so the filter decays away leaving the perfect habitat for other species.

Honestly, I'd like to make the Tent Megablamps to become more tent-like with tougher skin that would act as a shelter for the Cluster Blamps and it's descendants in a sort of symbiotic relationship.

That's what the first item in the post is about, cluster blamps that have lost their gas bag and gotten smaller in favour of growing tentacles or similar structures to do what some baby spiders do to ride on balloons that are affected by wind, magnetic fields and electro static fields, said tentacles may have also have sticky bits on them that allow them to attach to things.

Sounds like it will be a while (as in, needs a bunch of mutations) before we have a population that can reliably sustain a filter feeder. Also cluster blamps already float as it.

Maybe something like

[X] Cluster Blamps gain the ability to reproduce asexually while in the air. This lets them live untethered to the ruins.

Then we need to use turns to introduce pressures to the free blamps so they can be selected for an evolution.

They still rely on an internal gas bag to float, too much smaller and said gas bag won't be big enough to function and they will need another method for survival.

im love tent megablamp

010 (Splitter Slina)

Splitter Slina
The Splitter Slina has evolved to have impressive durability which is evident in its most desperate survival strategy, when in mortal danger both heads of the Splitter Slina can break away from each other and live independently, they are capable of rejoining with their original head or with another if they find one. To help this strategy the Splitter Slina live in large colonies where they can find head partners easily if they lose their old ones. The Splitter Slina uses this to avoid predation from Drakin, and their durability makes them more resistant to explosions.

The large colony of Splitter Slina is individually no more dangerous than Slina, but, they use basic pack tactics allowing them to weigh down and hunt Megablamps and Tent Megablamps. However, the Webweaver Drekin in the Tent Megablamps will rush out to get food when the Splitter Slina Colony hunts a Tent Megablamp they have made their web on. The ability to split makes Splitter Slina better at hunting the Harpoon Slina though it is still a dangerous game.

Ten turns have passed.
Many new creatures inhabit the facilities and the skies between them. In addition to a normal vote on the creature that develops in the next turn please vote for the new rule to take effect after 011.

[][RULE] Double Trouble
Two creatures can evolve each turn as long as both are in the same clade. (Descendant from the same origin creature.)
[][RULE] Island Syndrom
Once after a creature has gone extinct it can be used to evolve a new creature.
[][RULE] Hybrid Studies
Two creatures can be evolved into a single new creature combining the traits of both.
[][RULE] Convergent Evolution
Two creatures can evolve each turn as long as the evolution they are affected by is similar to one another.

[x] Webweaver Drekin develop better web-weaving capabilities and can use to them glide on the wind currents and thermals via silk parachutes and 'wings.'

[X][RULE] Double Trouble

[X] Slina started developing rows of teeth inside their mouths in place of merely two, spike-like teeth. Those teeth can move inside their mouths, like kitchen blender, allowing them to rent apart Drekin shell within moments and have easier time consuming Blamps with tougher hide.

[X] Some Slina gained the ability to flatten themselves. This lets them slip through cracks to avoid predators, and glide short distances to allow them to hunt prey that float further out from the ruins, such as Vent Blamps.

I think two creatures a turn could make updates take more time to come out, so i would rather avoid that for now.

[X][RULE] Island Syndrom

One last chance to tamper with a creature after it goes extinct sounds useful.

Also, nice to see that the Drekin aren't running low on food anyone. Good for them. And on a similar note, the Webweaver Drekin protecting the Tent Megablamp even if indirectly, is kinda wholesome. I'm really enjoying the symbiotic relationships of some of these species.

[X] Some groups of Cluster Blamps develop the ability to change the color of their skin. They learn to stick very close together and use this ability to mimic the appearance of a Megablamp or a Bomb Blamp to trick predators into avoiding them.

[X] Through an odd mutation, some Vent Blamps are born as conjoined pairs. By pooling the gasses produced by both Blamps, they are able to produce more thrust than a regular Vent Blamp, letting them travel further from the ruins.
