Emma Barnes, Princess (Worm/Princess the Hopeful Quest)

[X] A dress with a tight bodice and sweeping skirts, in the style of Disney princesses.
-[X] Soft blue with tiny brightly coloured starbursts on the edging
-[X] A fancy tinker-style gun
Boring, but very iconic.

[X] Dreams and Aspirations
-[X] Make a dress for your sister.
-[X] Make a dress for your mother.
-[X] Make a dress for your friend Taylor.
-[X] Cheer Dad up. (Maybe a shirt.)

-[X] Join a group that makes your school a more artistic place.

Does making a dress count as a dream? Can Emma even makes dresses?

[X] Alert a family member about your powers
-[X]Your sister

When weird things happen, siblings are great for distracting you. (Into wanting to kill them.)

[X] A cape with a short dress similar to Ruby Rose from RWBY but with a light blue color scheme.
-[X] A necklace that become a clasp for your cape when transformed.
-[X] A pair of ornate white silk gloves with gold highlights that fires energy bolts.

I like the aesthetic and if we are going to used a ranged weapon lets make it blatantly supernatural rather than look like we are being unnecessarily aggressive by using a gun. We are a Magical girl after all

[X] Dreams and Aspirations
-[X] Dream: Make Brockton Bays streets safe for the public.
-[X] Dream: Destroy the corruption in Brockton Bay. (Will later change to be more specific based off of Emma's knowledge such as focusing on the Darkness)
-[X] Dream: Get Taylor to dress more fashionably.
-[X] Aspiration: Get Vengeance on ABB
-[X] Aspiration: Get a good modeling gig.

The first two dreams are intended to be our big grand goals for our cape identity and should keep us busy for a while. The third is intended to be something short term for our civilian identity to be replaced once we complete it. To provide context in the scene where Emma first backstabbed Taylor she commented that Taylor was still dressed like a little kid and I imagine a benevolent Emma would be bothered by that and want to help Taylor.

The aspirations are more personal selfish objectives for Emma, the first related to the attack for her to get some closure and sense of power back and the second to be her civilian's identities personal goal.

-[X] Sneak out and experiment with your powers

Our father is kind of evil considering his willingness to fuck people over and how he gloats about how money makes people above the law to small children (canon statement by Taylor). We don't know anything else about her family at this point so lets put off outing ourselves till after we know more about them.

[-] Plan: Say You Want A Revolution
- Dream: Make people care about the rot in Brockton Bay.
- Dream: Break the gangs.
- Aspiration: Gain your independence.
- Aspiration: Get recognized.
- Aspiration: Have fun.

The Dreams are meant to be two different long term goals. The idea here, of course, is as a Troubadour of Wind and Storm, inspiring people to action against corruption is basically what we're meant to do, and if our chosen method is a bit... aggressive and prone to leading us into situations where we can beat up a few of them, well it's a decent outlet, and also lets us play street level 'sneak around and find where the drugs are' type plots with the second dream.

The Aspirations are deliberately broad, focusing on what her current goals for herself would be. Get Recognized plays into both of our states - one as an artist and fashion icon, and in the other as a Symbol. An Idea. Very Troubadour very batman. Gain your independence is the aria-tempesta 'fuck this shit I'm out' ideal - she doesn't want to be dependent, she doesn't want to be tied down.

Have fun is pure Aria, and is a reaction to the black mood that she'd been in before, a deliberate rejection of breaking down. But it's an Aspiration. She wants to be the kind of person who can shrug off something like that, but good humour is difficult to maintain. What kind of behaviour she'll do to avoid such a relapse is difficult to predict, but in this plan, given the lack of any person-oriented goals, it seems she'll do it by... disconnecting. Not caring. And that's dangerous if you have power, and doubly so if you're dipping into Storms.

Of course, that makes overcoming the devil-may-care affectation and seriously caring about someone a route for development.

And since I'm pushing for a devil-may-care, girls-just-gotta-have-fun, say-you-want-a-revolution type character, of course I have to choose...

Bad decisions? Bad decisions. Of course we're not telling our family.

I will submit my design once more. Again, the wings would be a more practical size. I will also rally for the addition of tiny wings to the other costume ideas, because I think it's a simple way of making us look more magical, and because it will be a cool scene when we finally get and activate Wings Of Air and the wings on our regalia dissolve and reform into faintly visible wing-shaped gusts.

I have no opinion on levinbolt yet.

I quite like both the aspirations. The modeling thing will require research, diplomancy, and eventually skill training (real skill too, not just transformed skill), and is basically her canon aspiration. Vengence is similar with the exception that it comes from the accident rather than before it, and is decently short term since it doesn't require the ABB's obliteration or anything. Similarly, getting tailor to dress more fashionably as a method of reinforcing her confidence is simply adorable. The other two dreams seem more like champion dreams though.

Once again, breaking the gangs is a dream for a champion. Getting recognized seems to fall in line with starting our modeling career for me, otherwise I would be more interested in it, and "have fun" seems far too vague, since a part of aspirations is defining what we enjoy anyway, and there's no real way to "complete" having fun. Gaining our independence from constant parental supervision(which we definitely have right now) is something any teenager would want, an the pressures of Emma's new life will only intensify that. To be treated as a child while under the terrible burden of sensitivity? Ouch. And making people care is a great long term aspiration, as a hook for soooo many plots.

I mostly want to enable... almost noir type plots. More low to the ground. Now, that could be folded into 'make people care', because draping a bunch of unconscious gang members in public places is the kind of message sending a Storms Troubadour could get behind, and Emma has part of that, but I felt it was worth separating.

Besides (and boy this feels ironic coming from me), our X and Y splats don't define us.

Getting recognized seems to fall in line with starting our modeling career for me, otherwise I would be more interested in it,

It's broader than that though, and unlike a modelling gig plays into both transformed and untransformed goals. One is 'be famous' and the other is 'be a symbol'.

and "have fun" seems far too vague, since a part of aspirations is defining what we enjoy anyway, and there's no real way to "complete" having fun.

I would have written 'Never break apart again', but we're not supposed to use negative aspirations, so I lost specificity. You do have a point though, I'll revise it to something a bit more grounded. :V

I think we're sort of missing a space for... long-term personal goals that make broad statements about her character. Unless 'Game Session' is equivalent to 'Narrative Arc', we'll be switching our Dreams/Aspirations relatively quickly in a way that I don't think really fits - we should be achieving steps towards those goals.

- Dream: Get Taylor to dress more fashionably.

This is basically the only part of your plan I dislike. I really don't see this as being a 'Dream' that she's likely to have, nor one that's particularly interesting on its face. Even if we wanted to have a Taylor focused Dream (and I'd argue that until we develop our character a bit more, we probably shouldn't have a Dream centred on someone else), I think it should be something less... petty? For instance...

Dream: Get Taylor to understand the seriousness of appearance and first impressions.

Anyway, upon thinking about it some more.

[x] Plan: We All Want to Change the World
- Dream: Make people care about the rot in Brockton Bay.
- Dream: Mess with one or more gangs in an embarrassingly public manner. Send a message.
- Aspiration: Gain your independence.
- Aspiration: Get recognized.
- Aspiration: Payback - track down those who hurt you.

Bad decisions? Worse decisions. Also Beatles references. The new Dream plays into the more expansive one, and is something we could do (but probably shouldn't), and if it's public and mocking it fits Aria-Troubadour, while the method can be a bit more... tempestuous.

Oh, and regarding this, it's going to be a slap in the face for Princess!Emma. As in, it literally has a ~50% chance of causing bashing damage to Emma if he hurts some-one's faith in justice in her presence.

But dreams explicitly come from your calling, and you need a 2-dot merit with heavy drawbacks (three new calling oaths) to get a second source.

Fair point. We should still do this some time though.

Your new plan is an acceptable compromise to me. Vote changed.

Oh yeah, definitely. But I think it should be after an arc where we realize we've been drifting away from our friends and family in our drive to be strong and independent and all the rest (or end up putting them in danger because we've been too careless), get Aspiration: Reconnect, fulfill it, and then earn a dot of Fuoco because we've learned that freedom is hollow without someone to share it with.

I should point out that, as a redhead, and a fashionista, there are certain colors Emma would 'not' wear.

What they are, I have no idea, but they exist.

Every color and texture in this picture besides the wings, probably. That looks terrible. The actual clothing, though, is fine; Maybe a gray, blue, and green coloration, with smooth textures, perhaps, with an emphasis on working with what the wings look like?

well, the program doesn't actually let you choose the textures, since each piece of clothing has a default unchangable texture that you can only obscure by coloring it all one color, or change by swapping in a similar looking piece. Aside from that, the only color that you seem to disapprove of is the gold. Is this along the lines of what you where thinking of?

Yes, pretty much, though with blue as a main. Blue is just better for absolutely everything. Thanks for the photoshop/picture changing.

Oh, and for those who wonder why I didn't include a mask, it's because that kind of heroic symbol is the heraldry of Swords, so I figured it would symbolize us requiring our first dot of fuoco.

[] Appearence: Frills
This is where I reveal I am not a fashion designer.

Regarding the Levinbolt, I kinda want it to shoot out bolts of cutting wind. You know, like a classic Kamaitachi or a Boom Bubble if bashing. Would both be cool, fitting of Aria and theoretically harder to spot (unless our wind turns green, of course). The only downside is that people might think we are Stormtiger's Blaster offspring, but once we beat up some E88 folks that should be cleared up.

My first thought was to make it a Tiara/Headress capable of shooting things, but there are two problems with that:
1: If I've understood things correctly, Tiaras aren't a common part of Aria costumes
2: The only character I can think of as having something similar is Wamuu, and awesome as he is I doubt he is Princess material... Although technically speaking the easiest way to recreate his Atmospheric Rift would probably be through a Levinbolt with the Tempesta upgrade.

That isn't how the relationship between courts and costumes works. Costumes are a manifestation of your idealized self image through the lens of your culture. Invocations don't really effect that. What does effect that is your court (which should be your primary invocation) which is a literal court lead by a queen and represents who you work with in the dreamlands and the culture you most associate with.

Without joining a court invocations don't have any influence on your regalia beyond what would be inherent to the ideals of the invocation.

Personally I favor lasers from wands.

Well, i favor a firearm, (Maybe a rifle, but i don't have preferences), and i already said why. Is about proyecting strenght. Carrying a weapon around gives the feeling of security that Emma desires.

(I am making portraits with HeroMachine, but all the ones i like are more Swords or Hearts than Aria)

We are going to to be carrying around a weapon no matter what. I don't think a rifle is going to give much more security than a deathlaser or being able to knock about people at a distance.
