so wait, we can have lorgar and dharok work together for 11 dice, but can we have lorgar and dharok make two separate 10 dice rolls

If Fan can't help, we should have him do something else.

Wait to see if True Faith works and say the word Vorien to Kairos after Dharok switches off his external microphones to prevent him accidentally learning it if it doesn't?

And yet within it Dharok could feel the conflict, the horror of its own existence suddenly impinging into din and madness within. No, only one can attempt it. These are the kind of rolls that cannot be spamed.
If Fan can't help, we should have him do something else.

This is a valid plan of action.
after Dharok switches off his external microphones to prevent him accidentally learning it if it doesn't?
This part is not needed. Lorgar learned it due to him being a Primarch, others have to be thought. Simply hearing it is not enough,

I think we should have Fan be doing something as a backup in case we fail. Five successes on eleven dice is unlikely. He can't help with True Faith but he can try to kill Kairos with Vorien.

There would be no salvation for the daemon, but there might be silence and in that silence redepmtion.

I might change redemption to peace, but apart from that, sounds good.

Sure that makes sense, Added Fan to do something if the roll fails.

If you're doing this rather than risking hitting him with Vorien (I understand the reluctance to speak that word within range of the Neverborn's influence), I think you may also want to use Iron Resolve and Fair Fortune.

We might also want to Stunt, perhaps seeing if we can use our craft charms to make ritual implements.

Actually, @Yzarc, if we use the 3rd effect of CCC, I'm assuming we can't spend one Essence and Willpower to Shape reality to make us succeed at breaking the ward?

Done. I do not think Fair Fortune will do anything, since we cannot fair in the sense the power cares about, getting 0 successes.

whats a stunt again?

A stunt is when you describe how awesome you are and the universe nods and gives you more dice

More seriously it is playing into your narrative to be better at things that align with it. In creation everyone Heroic Mortal and up could do it, but that is because the people of Creation were all a little bit god, or well I guess jade-fossilized fairy, it gets complicated. In this world I imagine it would be Marines and up and even then for things that are highly aligned with their mythos.

@Yzarc, one more character sheet thing - we have Maelstroms as an unlocked rather than learned sorcery.

To be fair, it just says fail, and you can fail a roll by not getting enough successes, not just getting zero.

Unfortunately, TTC and so Experimental Acceleration Mastery don't apply to Sorcery (I wonder if we could develop an upgrade charm that would allow it), as otherwise we might be able to do a super-fast ritual. I wonder if we could stretch their applicability as a stunt (although only to add 1-3) successes. Something like:

-- [] In preparation for assaulting the wards, your Mind-Hands reach into the nearby battlefield and sweep around you with the touch of Maedes, legendary king of Old Earth, transmuting the 'dying' and the 'dead', man, daemon, and ghostly spirit alike as they orbit around you, first into the raw materials for your work, both mundane and mystical, and then further refining them into tailored sorcerous tools and reagents at near impossible speed, until you stand as the burning sun of an sorcerous solar system in miniature, each component for your counter-spell engulfed by the of majesty of your iconic Anima. Then, you strike.

Even if the charms wouldn't normally apply their effects in full, they do make good stunt fodder.

Not sure what is going on today as I am missing quite a bit.

Fixed and added the conditions for learning any other sorcery.
  • Others: Dharok acts as a Source, though you will need to spend 4 AP to learn it and Dharok looses any action for that Turn.
Dharok also gets this Merit.

Sorcery (5pt. Merit)The Demigod has either already made extensive study of the mystic arts, or has the potential to do so in the future. She may buy Paths andrituals from Sorcerer20 Edition.

I also gave him a few of the merits he should have had.

If we do 'talk' Kairos down I wonder if he could be persuaded to sacrifice himself to redirect his own power and the energy gathered for the ritual he was working on to free the ghosts and strengthen the remnants of the Worldsoul enough that we can anchor them to it, where they won't get eaten by daemons.and their presence will further strengthen it, like dead exodites do with their Maiden Worlds' souls.

Essentially turning them from ghosts to spirits.

The self-sacrifice of an Exalted Greater Daemon feels like a big enough deal for something like that, and we have all these ghosts here to use…

Kairos is probably pretty good at sorcery so can do the initial work, perhaps before handing it off to us to complete by transmuting him into the ideal reagent to finish the ritual. I'm not sure, but I think that Lorgar and Dharok may be able to perform True Faith intercession miracles to help break whatever curse is on the ghosts, the action essentially functioning as reagents for the ritual.

Counting our chickens, I know, but perhaps we can make it a lemons to lemonade scenario…

Hm, one wonders if it might have been possible to more swiftly identify that this ritual would be creating a Shadowland via Essence-Dissecting Stare.

Assuming that the stunt qualifies for the extra 2 dice, how likely are 5 successes on 13 dice?

Depends on the DC, assuming it's a normal difficulty, that is to say 6, better than 50%, (12 dice at DC6 would be 50%) though it drops off sharply as DCs increase.
