To make people actually remember, here's it once for posterity: Minako is nonbinary and uses they/them. This message will be pinned so you people stop getting it wrong and pissing me off. I dunno, if my parents worked in law enforcement or medical ambulance, of course I would call them in the aftermath of a violent crime.

Like, family plus actual experience plus my parents probably telling me to have their number on a quick dial if that was the case.

If Minako thinks otherwise, well, that's unfortunate then.

For me this is more that it's obviously magical - and I wouldn't want my mother to be throwing down with a super strong super lethal magical girl who by other examples can kick around inch thick metal like nothing and survive their heart no longer beating and their ribcage partially gone long enough to ask for healing/help

It's not just relevant experience because the magic portion makes the relevant experience magic. Which Mina doesn't know their parents have.

In any case, the girl is kind of physically broken, we have no reason to think Takane has any way to heal her, but a hospital might and if medical gets involved then so will the law. Getting Sayaka on the line probably keeps the situation under control. As far as we know.
 
I'd buy contacting Sayaka a bit more if it was through work? Like calling up the police office seems natural, but a personal call and hoping she can run over instead of just getting the ambulances and so on?

This is a crime, first and foremost.

Minako doesn't even understand what the fuck Magical world is at the moment. They know that their girlfriend is a Magical Girl, they know there is a weird cat-like creature who offers these powers, and that's it.

There is a victim of a crime. Who is fatally hurt yet somehow still alive, because weird Magical bullshit, who asked them for help, which they cannot provide.

Like, your argument works both ways: how does Minako know Takane would be able to help? Maybe she has some innate healing magi- oh wait, they don't know about that.
So yes, I think I would answer this situation by
1) call your mom, who is a cop, because there was a fucking crime committed right in front of you
2) call the ambulance

Order may vary.

Takane will contact Sayaka cause she knows she has healing powers. Minako knows nothing about that and can't expect her mom to be able to do anything about this.

I feel like if they expect Sayaka to be able to help, they'd also expect the cops and doctors to be able to do it, and so would go through normal channels. They don't have any reason to think that Sayaka specificallywould be better prepared to help than dispatch, say.

And if they are thinking of someone specific to help, the one magical person they know stands out more than parents.

Yeah, she doesn't have any reason to think that Sayaka in particular can help. But as the child of a cop and a firefighter, I think calling EMS would have been drilled into her by this point.

I'm going with Mina being a smart cookie and able to connect the dots. If MG is asking for healing - then Mina has all the clues that MG can do healing magic.

You know what is probably horrible? The MG dying is probably mistaking Mina for their mother - either of them honestly. And think that they can heal her - because Sayaka is the healing tank and Kyouko probably knows enough to keep someone stablized until Sayaka can get there.

Also just... By the way? Takane knows Sayaka, and more importantly knows she's a healer-specialty.

She also doesn't know Sayaka's our mom yet.

Minako looks pretty different from both their mothers, just on hairstyle/colour alone. Add in the age gap, and I don't really see it- it's not impossible, but it doesn't seem likely.

The attacker spooked on sight. Given that I don't think MGs willing to kill run from bystanders especially with the masquerade in effect and Kyubey running the show I think that Minako might look enough like them that if you don't have your head fully functioning that you can make a mistake.

Minako has big red patch at the front of their hair, and wears it in a different style entirely (spiky vs loose). If you've never seen Sayaka or Kyouko before and only know them by reputation I could see you mixing them up, but if someone knows them personally like the mangled girl presumably does? It'd feel odd to me.

Edit: GM ninja'd me. That makes it more plausible then, though I'm still not sure how the big red patch would be overlooked.

As much as I'd like to meta-game and call Sayaka, this seems the more IC choice. Outside of straight up dialing emergency services right away.
