Earth Bet: House of the Sun (Cultist Simulator/Worm)

Maybe we could give Charlotte as a long-term goal to find something that will allow us to persist despite the spores. That is why we have Confidantes, no? So we don't need to do everything ourselves.

Edit: Did a quick wiki check on the Haustorium. Its potentially under the protection of a Name of the Crowned Growth.
Well...
Something thick and green came up from your lungs—spores?—and you hacked them onto the floor.
however the library itself is still a fungus-crowned mystery.
The Crowned Growth certainly still seems to have at least some influence over the place, considering the spores and the fungi.

Expected Dangers: The rainforest will bar your way, where snakes and many more dangerous obstacles plague your path. You must either forge a path or follow the wildlife to pass through to the other side. Then you must find the way higherup, either with your keen eye or simple intuition. Lastly you must climb those old stone stairs, and pay their price. Either in blood or in memories. There will be more dangers, but that is how you will arrive at the front doors.
At least for the first three obstacles, a member of the Inner Circle has one of the Lores as their major, so at least for this part we should be operating at effectively Level 6 as a baseline.

We should probably take advantage of being able to Call 2-turn Influences on other people, meaning that if we stick Influences on everyone on T17 they'll persist through to the expedition. Mopsy calling a Moth Influence on Delilah T17 and channeling one on us T18 gives us an additional +80 to Moth, and we can do a similar thing with Sol and a Secret Histories Influence via Theresa. Charlotte can Call her own Heart Influence with high likelihood to be either +30 or +40, and we can also Call a Heart Influence for another +30 or +40.

If we can't bring the Names, anyway. If we can, then they can still Call an Influence T17 for the appropriate parties and then just tag along instead of channeling Influences on T18. Or if we can't afford to bring them along.

Our weaker points are basically any Lore that we can't either abuse the location bonus to call powerful Influences for or that lack a Name to double-stack Influences with. So Forge, Winter, Edge, and Knock. Lantern technically also, but that can be supplemented with Sun Sparks if needed (and we can't bring Theresa).

I think we should have three main priorities over the next six turns:
1) Ransack the Mansus for as many spirits, scraps, and Names that we can find.
2) Deliberately scry + obtain powerful artifacts for the above 'weaker' Lores in the loadout.
3) Get to a minimum of All-3, which will probably happen just as a consequence of doing the above two things, tbh.

You don't know. All you know is that Mylissa herself cannot.
Is Mylissa not telling us, does she not know, or has it just not come up yet?

Tbh we might want to wait on summoning even Theresa and just go ham on the Sun Sparks for a bit, since they're Lantern and presumably can still scry things for us while being cheaper and easier to summon, and we can just pick one to burn at random once we hit T15/T16.

Edit: Then again, Theresa can give us a SH Influence for maximum spirit-finding efficiency (+finding the Stag Door) so maybe it would still be worth it? We'd have to make sure to pay her renewal price though.

@Witherbrine26 just to verify, Sun Sparks can cast RotT on their own, right? Not just as sacrifices? I know they can't do three-circle rituals, but RotT isn't a summoning ritual, so...

The circumstances where summoning Mopsy is being treated like a good idea.
Yeah, Mopsy doesn't seem as bad as Robigo or The Excelency Gnathobasis.
She is absolutely dangerous, even to people she likes (her idea of gratitude includes infecting a book with a soul-harming corruption), but with a proper binding and other Names around she should at worst be as bad as Marinette.

Something to note about finding Level 5+ artifacts to bring along with us is that, unlike spirits (or Ashley), they won't cost us anything to bring along, and we'll be able to take at least five to use with maximum effectiveness (i.e. wielded by someone without that Lore).

@Witherbrine26 Can we modify the ritual to get a higher-level version of it?
For example, to turn a ritual of two circles into a ritual of three circles?
No you cannot.
Is Mylissa not telling us, does she not know, or has it just not come up yet?
It hasn't come up yet.

They cannot. Unless said otherwise spirits cannot perform rituals, the exception is Names who can innately perform any ritual you know. Unless other circumstances arise of course.

So was Mylissa referring specifically to Theresa here then or...? Because the way she phrased it seemed to indicate that said spirits could perform the scrying ritual, not just be used as fodder.

"We are in need of new summons," Lady Mylissa's voice was steady, controlled, as always. Her words, however, carried the weight of command. "Beyond the White Door, there are entities capable of scrying, capable of searching for what we need. I want you to summon one. Have it ready in three months' time, and in the meantime, construct a scrying ritual. We need to be prepared."

Ah, I see how that could be confusing. Apologizes for that. She is referring how they can be used to massively boost a scrying roll. It's been changed to be more clear that the intent is for them to be sacrificed.

Now it seems to me that the ban on visiting and divination of the library applies to all Names.
Otherwise, as soon as Mylissa found out that we could summon Teresa, she ordered us to do it and force her to perform a divination ritual in order to achieve the maximum possible success.

Best-case scenario: Names can visit the Haustorium, but Lady Mylissa specifically is banned for some reason.
Then we take Aunt Mopsy and Teresa with us and pass 2 obstacles easily. A couple of Sun Sparks pass the third one, and then we don't know what is next.
Worst case scenario: all spirits are banned from Haustorium, or can't help us for some other reason (it just occured to me that Aunt Mopsy may be not exactly banned, but for example bound to stop uninitiated from entering... And since for now none of us is actually in the ranks of Know, that includes our entire cult). Then we just get as many Influences as we can(Lantern/SH from Teresa, Moth from Aunt Mopsy, Heart from Charlotte, Grail from us personally), and maybe try to find other expeditions where we can get artifacts.

Even if we can bring the Names, going the "stacking Influences" route decreases the total cost of the expedition on our end, so it might still be worth doing. Unless we find an expedition specialist Name a la the Daughter-of-Axes from Equestria. And also unless Mylissa is willing to have the cult pay for the Names to tag along.

They aren't really mutually exclusive routes.
I see no reason to take an Influence instead of a Name when we can take both.
And Names definitely will boost our chances significantly.

They are tho? Having a Name channel an Influence should take their AP for the turn. Accompanying a long expedition also would consume their AP for the turn. So we'd have to pick one or the other.

Ah, right. If we go double-Influence and they both call an Influence through a ritual and apply it themselves we do.
But even in that case it is better to bring a Name than an Influence, since Names just give a higher bonus.

Alright, since the Haustorium is going to be such a dangerous and important expedition I've decided to try a much more complex reading using the Celtic Cross style this time:

Present: Page of Cups - Mme Bechet
This card shows a person who recognizes your passion, ingenuity, or intuition. They may come to you asking for advice or some form of work that involves these skills. If you have been working to improve such skills, now is your time to prove what you've learned.

Challenge: Ace of Cups - An Incarnadescence
This card marks the start of a great desire. Your passions are overflowing and you can't contain yourself for long. Embrace your desires and hope you feel satisfied by the end.

Past: The Sister-and-Witch

Future: The Sun-in-Rags

Above: Page of Swords - Hint
This card recognizes those that may help you but don't desire to be seen or recognized. Accept their help as happy coincidences help your journey as the unexpected come to your aid. On the other hand, there may be hidden things that are causing you problems. If you want them gone, simple do what they fear, reveal them for what they are.

Below: Five of Cups - The Creeping Breath Curse
This card indicates that wishes to attach itself to you that will slowly drain you. Remind yourself that you can dispel such curses. Hold steadfast to your passions and remain optimistic. This is a setback but it won't hold you forever unless you let it.

Advice: Queen of Swords - The Maid-in-the-Mirror
This card presents one who understands objective realities. They speak strictly and to the point, not holding back what may be perceived as cruel. Accept the painful truth and be stronger for it

External Influence: Six of Sword - The Wildering Mirror
This card demands you look at things with a different perspective. To be fixed on one point of view is to do yourself a disservice. Despite this advice, remember to come back with an answer. Spend too long looking, and you will lose all sense of self.

Hopes/Fears: Two of Swords - The Lone and Level Sands
This card suggests a need to explore unknown territories. You may feel lost and exhausted on this journey, but hold true to yourself. The answer is out there, just keep looking.

Outcome: Knight of Swords - The Diarist
This card points to someone of superior learning and skill. If they are against you, you will need more than booksmarts or strength to beat them. Here, sheer will is needed to succeed. If they are helping you, they will be an invaluable resource in becoming stronger in both body and mind

It seems highly likely that Emir will get a lungful of of Crowned Growth spores, have a near-death epiphany, and will come out of this experience a wiser -if not healthier- person.

Okay, so, new tentative plan:

6 AP + 3 Follower AP

1) Knock lesson
2) Summon Theresa
3) Explore the Woods
4) Explore the Overgrown Orchard
5) Create a ritual (mental Malus removal, Heart major)
6) Ashley Lore training

C) Assist with ritual creation
SS1) Sacrifice for Theresa (the fading one)
SS2) Sun's Plan: Emir

Decided to keep summoning Theresa on the itinerary since she can cast a SH Influence on us on T13, so we can go ham on finding the rest of the White Plane spirits, the Stag Door, and spirits beyond the Stag Door over T13/T14. We'll have to make sure we pay the renewal price though so she sticks around to either come with us or channel an Influence for the Haustorium.

Maybe a Forge lesson from the library instead of Woods exploring, or Edge if it gets to level 2.
If we want to get all-3, we need to get more than 1 scrap per turn.
Though with a Moth Influence it may be better to explore Woods before it runs out.
