Earth Bet: House of the Sun (Cultist Simulator/Worm)

Voting is open
Okay, guys. We need to Mansus Expedition as much as possible, cuz something straight up Shivved the Calyptra, possibly including the Velvet.
Two options I think. Ivory Spires expedition have Heart as first hurdle. Or we can try to search for temple of wheel in the Woods. If we throw enough actions on it we should be able to find and explore it while Heart influence still active.

????

That is, if we try to invoke influence on someone else, the influence that is currently acting on us will collapse?
Yes that is correct.

Anyway. That aside...

Better grab our Forge and Grail Scrap first though, maximize our chances of success.
I assume you mean Forge and Heart, seeing as we're already Grail 3? :V

Current tentative plan, assuming no curveballs:
  • 6 AP
  • 1) Presumably given up to mitigate Dread
  • 2) Create mental malus removal ritual (Heart/Grail? Heart/Moth? Definitely Heart major)
  • 3) Ivory Spires expedition (time to find out another one of our gods is dead!)
  • 4) Sol social
  • 5) Ashley power training
  • 6) Explore the Woods (for the Temple) OR learn Forge from library (get to Forge 2)
  • (Charlotte) Heart lesson
  • (AotL) Grail (for Sol)
  • (Sun Spark) Assign to Emir, for Ashely's training
  • (Sun Spark) Assign to Deliliah OR Assign to Emir, for ritual creation

  • 1) Presumably given up to mitigate Dread
  • 2) Create mental malus removal ritual (Heart/Grail? Heart/Moth? Definitely Heart major)

Not fully certain, but I think we managed to remove our dread. This is still a good first action if we didn't though, and I could be wrong.

As for this… Heart/Winter. Maybe Winter/Heart, actually. Winter is the mental/spiritual defense Lore. Heart is the physical defense.

I don't think so? We just prevented ourselves from gaining a second one, unless I missed where we recovered from it somewhere.

Main reason I want to go Heart major is a) because of location bonus making it very easy to hit the DC100, and b) because that means Charlotte can cast it for us, so we don't have to give up our own AP whenever we pick up a Fascination or Dread.

@Witherbrine26 perhaps a silly question, but can we do a Sol social and invite him along to a ritual creation in the same turn? Would it just end up fusing into a single action, where his social is him hanging out with us while we make a ritual?

Not that I'm expecting him to actually help with the ritual, but it seems like the kind of thing he'd be interested in.

Explore the Woods (for the Temple)
Exploring the forest now is a pretty waste of time. It is better to invoke the influence of the moth on the next turn and take the lesson of the moth. This will raise our moth to the third level and give + 40 to explore the forest. Thus, we will get +80 to the wheel temple search roll.
Forge from library (get to Forge 2)
I think it's better to raise the edge to level 2, given that the expedition often seems to use a combat bonus.

I changed my mind, I was going to clarify in the next update but somebody asked me first.

Really depends how I plan it out. They'd likely be related in some fashion (such as making the ritual and hanging out after) but I can't give a grantee

Turn 10 - March, 2006 New
"Christopher was known by many, and loved by just as many," you began, your voice sluggish, barely rising above a strained whisper. Your lips twisted into a grotesque semblance of a smile, but the effort was hollow.

The sleepless night before had worn you down to the bone, every heartbeat pounding in your chest as if it were trying to echo the pain that Christopher might have felt in his final moments. But the truth was, you couldn't muster the energy to feel anything anymore—not sorrow, not anger, not even the faint ache of loss.

The speech you had hastily written felt like a lifeless recitation. Words on a page that you struggled to string together, your mind drifting in a fog so thick it made every syllable an ordeal. You had hoped to do better for Christopher's sake, to give him a send-off that meant something, but as you scanned the small gathering of mourners, the reality was clear. A poor attempt. A failure.

There weren't many people here. Just Dismas, Charlotte, Sol, and an older woman whose name you didn't even know. Christopher had lived a solitary life, and it seemed he would be buried with only a handful of witnesses.

Dismas was the first to leave, head bowed in quiet respect as he shuffled away from the casket, his usual air of confident detachment tempered by the gravity of the moment. Sol, Charlotte, and the older woman remained, lingering at the casket as if expecting something more to be said, but nothing came. Nothing more could be said.

The casket had remained closed, sealed from prying eyes. The mortician had advised it, a dull voice recounting that Christopher's insides had become too grotesque, his body unsuitable for the usual embalming practices. You hadn't questioned it. Why would you? You were numb, moving through the funeral arrangements in a haze, signing papers as if they belonged to someone else. The details felt irrelevant now.

"Thank you," a voice broke through your thoughts. You turned, startled for a moment, to face the older woman. She stood beside you, her eyes soft yet weary, offering you a handshake as though this moment required formalities. Your grimace of a smile remained frozen in place as you took her hand.

"Of course," you replied mechanically, your voice hollow even to your own ears. "How did you know him?" It was a question asked out of politeness, not genuine curiosity, because in truth, you didn't know Christopher well yourself.

"I was his housekeeper. I'd come by, clean up, help him out with small things. He wasn't much for conversation, but he was a good man," she explained, her grip trembling yet surprisingly firm. "It's a shame he passed so soon." There was a weight behind her words, a resigned acceptance that felt like an inevitability. He had been old, after all. Time comes for everyone.

You nodded, that horrible mockery of a smile still stretched across your face. You felt detached, distant from everything around you, even the small talk. "Indeed," you muttered, and the conversation fell into silence, a hollow pause that neither of you seemed willing to fill.

She stepped away, moving towards the casket, leaving you standing there, watching. There would be no memorial, no gathering of friends to celebrate his life. No one knew him well enough to mourn him properly. Not even Charlotte, who watched from a distance with a distant gaze of her own. Christopher would simply be lowered into the cold, unyielding earth, his memory fading away like a breath on a winter's wind.

We should spend the time to hit the third level of Heart this turn, see what supernatural trait that gives. I think we can afford to take a hit to our Martial and Stewardship, neither are really our strong suits nor are they what we're typically called on to do, instead, maybe send a Sun Spark to Ava, a Dappled Moth to Delilah, and… not sure what else, really.

Problem with that is interfering with potential expedition rolls. Granted, that can mostly be solved by delaying it until next turn, when we're not suffering from Dread, or just risking it w/ the +20 from AotL'd Winter. Nonnegotiable -1 AP really sucks tho.

Two plans with variations. Helping Sol Charlette and Ashley. No ritual casting but loaning out two minions to Delilah and helping Charlette with our silver tongue I thought was a good alternative. Created a variation by gaining an extra action to visit Baldomerian as we can only do one mansus expedition a turn and I thought visiting her could be useful for us.

Edit: I forgot attention of the laws any suggestions for that? Did winter per @Greymere suggestion. Also figured stewardship might be a good dump stat this turn.

@Witherbrine26, question if it hasn't been asked already, is the Sun's Plan trait on the Sparks mutually exclusive with the standard assistance option? That is, is it a choice between the re-roll and the +20/30, or will the Spark simply throw in a re-roll if the enterprise it's helping with needs it?

I think it's absolutely vital for us to use Sun Sparks when training Ashley. Her power is one of the most destructive and uncontrollable. We can easily lose half of our limbs if we are hit by her projectile, even in passing.

It's mutually exclusive, so a choice between the re-roll and bonus. However the re-roll can apply to things like social actions where as the bonus could not.

I think we need to avoid the expedition while we have dread, then take as many of the bonuses as we dare. Losing an action a turn is awful.

So the question is is there a single stat we can dump this entire turn into, and then shove all the bonuses up.

We can only summon one influence at a time, and the most logical thing for us would be to summon the influence of the moth in the next turn to get the 3rd level of the moth and to search for the temple of the wheel. So if we don't go now, we will miss the opportunity to use the influence of the heart in the expedition.

Firstly: some stuff that I noticed @Witherbrine26

Possible Actions: You have 4 3 Actions each month; more can be gained by spending less time at work.
I assume that the "4" is supposed to be either struck out, or omitted entirely.

-Sun Spark (Bindings decay at the end of Turn 10)
-Sun Spark (Bindings decay at the end of Turn 10
Bindings for the Sparks shouldn't decay until the end of T12.

The healing options have these weird mismatched dashes.

-[] On Sun Sparks and their leadership (These are actions exclusive to Dappled Wings)
Sun Sparks erroneously labeled as Dappled Wings.

Secondly, you mentioned before that we can do things like purchase research materials to boost the rolls for researching and creating rituals, should those be listed in the turn plan options?
