Drone Swarm in a Magical World (Riot Quest) ALWAYS RECRUITING

Did you not see the shield guy survive unscathed by the plasma barrage? Get a formation of those dudes, and they will completely nullify your blasters.
I did see that, but it seems like you didn't see that his shield was only shot a few times, or that the Cutters torn him into itty bitty pieces. We have more ways of attacking than just the Battery drones Plasma Blasts. If they want to form a shield wall, we can send in the cutters to rip them apart and the Scouts to melt them down.

Besides, it's more efficient for the Battery Drones currently deployed to gather more energy rather than throw a handful of single dice at a material or information roll.
Eh, more dice will be thrown to gather energy. Whether it's more efficient or not depends on what we can learn from studying the creatures and the armor. For instance, investigating the creatures taught us that they're vulnerable to electric blasts, meaning we'll have an easier time defeating them in the future. Learning a weakness like that would be a better use of our time than gather energy. Another factor is that we can gather admittedly less energy in other places with no muss, no fuss. On the other hand, if we want to study the bodies and gear after this period, we'll have to come back to the swamp, track down more of the undead with this equipment, and kill them. Learning from these corpses will be a bigger hassle than gathering energy will.

@Hangwind, how big are the corpses compared to the drones?

Actually no, you would take the weapon and armors back with you. I should probably come up with a tag for that honestly. What you would be looking at is if you can find anything that would let you block or reduce the effectiveness of the equipment, as well s gaining data on the energy in its natural environment and whether taking it back to the ship changes anything.

It's not unusual for safety or control features to disable artifacts in certain zones or when taken to far away or for too much time after all. That, in a lot of ways, is what your safeguards are about.

About two to three times for the most part, though there are outliers.

I still want to see if I can figure out how to tame a zombie of my own. Maybe a skeleton as well. I shall be a pseudo-necromancer in time! I shall tame the restless dead!

(Henry: I'm just worried about an actual formation of these guys. Sure, we may be able to handle a shield wall, but the problem is if we start losing cutter drones to them. The zombies demonstrated an ability to harm cutter bots one on one, I don't want to see what a proper hoard can do.)
(Henry: They may not be able to mass enough numbers to wipe us out, but mass fire won't be enough to easily take out 50 of em.)

Doy, that's my bad, I didn't pay enough attention to the gains for this period. We didn't bring the spider corpses back last time, and I just assumed it would be the same now. Maybe you could give them a materials value, so we know we're bringing them back with us? Or maybe tag them as Subjects, or Objects of Interest, so we know we'll be investigating them more when we fall back to the ship.

No, that one's on me, I had it separated in my head but not on the page. I'll try to remember that for the future, but one way to tell if it's not obvious is to look at Current Deployment in the Informational threadmarks. I've started putting the totals of what you're taking with you there so that I don't forget anything.

"The Enemy Gathers; staying for too much longer is ill-advised.
Fortifications deemed sufficiently attended to. In spite of lack of specialization, analysis of captured enemy equipment shall be my task. Possibilities intriguing."

We shall defend the others while you gather more!
This swamp sucks. No minerals, no life, just a bunch of mud and gas and mud zombies. I want to kill a unicorn and research its body so we can make the Gallop Chassis, and run really fast!

You know, I'm betting theres a deity level figure that rules over the swamp. Don't be surprised if this hypothetical deity decides to "mark" one of us. Granted, our "marked" drone may disuade any potential marking.

I'm honestly not all that worried about the corpses just yet, but we've spent enough time gathering here that another period on top of this one is probably unnecessary. We should probably go check out what kind of horrible, terrible, murder-y things have come from letting some of the local plants inside our ship anyways. As for the information, it seems better to check out the local unlife while they're still trying to kill us, and we're taking the loot back anyways. The corpses are a bigger priority; Their equipment has a much lower chance of self-animating and trying to kill us again.

We actually only put them outside, so they're just going to ransack our little greenhouse.

On the other hand, the equipment is stopping the Battery Drones from vaporizing them, and you can't self-animate if there's nothing to animate.

I'm not sure what the question is?

I meant more of if I should do this again:
[] {Riot} Gather Information: Scouting (Special: Something weird is going on and you want a bird's eye view of what's happening. Gain half the Information you normally would, but on a much broader area.) (Drones with Fast only)

or do one of these options:
[] {Riot} Gather Information (Medium gain)

[] {Riot} Gather Information: Moving corpses (???) (Special: Allows you to stay inside of Defenses for next fight)

[] {Riot} Gather Information: Energy weapons and armor (???) (Special: Allows you to stay inside of Defenses for next fight)

Observation: Many other units have begin examining the hostile corpses in addition to the hostile equipment. Conclusion: This unit believes its contribution is no longer necessary. Scout will instead continue surveying the area from above, keeping watch for hostiles along with fellow Scout.

"Work is plentiful. Specialization includes significantly superior sensors than other Drone Designations. Recommend analysis of acquired equipment or their prior owners. Additional reconnaissance is also an option."

"How many Scout units are analyzing the equipment and the corpse, and how many are searching the area for more information?"
