HEY! Remember when I said that the bitch was obviously manipulating us and that we shouldn't have anything to do with her/fuck her up on the spot. I. WAS. RIGHT.

Jokes on Takara, the map is still attuned to us.
She can probally So solve that easily but oh wel.
What She probally cannot solve is:
>An angry Blue Dragon
>A FURIOUS Ifrit
>An incubus
>An eastern Dragon
>A wizard
>Whatever the fuck Isaschar is
>However else we have pulled into our excidental harem.

She solved almost all this pretty easily fifteen minutes ago.

I'm not sure throwing Abzu in there is a real game-changer in a throw-down.

After that scene, poor... well, everyone. Except Takara, apparently.

That was With Takara being prepared and Makram being smug and underestimating Takara.
That is not going to happen Again.
And there is nothing more dangerous Then a wizard Who had time to prepare for you.
Round two, Lets see If Takara can handle everyones A game
Or at the very least B game

That depends; does he have prep time? If his familiar wasn't neutralized when Takara laid waste to the lair, Abzu may have gotten a front row seat from which to observe the whole fiasco.

A wizard armed with both knowledge and time can get very creative, if they so choose.

reminder to all that despite being a blatant Tamamo expy, Takara is not a girl
They aren't really that blatant a Tamamo expy either.

Tamamo was a courtesan who seduced royalty and caused harm to basically everyone, whereas Takara is just a "cat" burglar. About all they have in common is being kitsune and being in the top three most heinous monsters in the land.

Also didn't the wizard boyfriend who's name I can't recall off the top of my head because they're Vivi in my mind say something about the map being linked to Mr Ed magically somehow? Like no one but him can use it at the moment?

Speaking as the dude what labeled them totally tamamo in the first place...yes they are.

I mean, between the fox stuff, ink-on-paper tags that do elemental magic, fancy noble clothes, the whole would-be-seductive/flirtatious thing...

yeah, they's tamamo aight.

Takara: -shows up, messes with Makram, the resident gadfly, one-ups him at getting under people's skin, makes fools of everyone who bothered trying to stop them, and is generally entertaining while being awesome-
Y'all: I knew we couldn't trust them! Revenge! Reeeeveeeennnnge!
Me, an idiot intellectual: Dammit, Takara! What are you doing after this?

They said it was attuned to Eldingar. I assume in the way that one 'attunes' to magical items in D&D, which this has some roots in. A magical item can attune to whoever owns it, so long as it isn't cursed.

So, after a little while with Takara, it will presumably attune to their greatest need instead.

Yo Takara is referred to explicitly with they/them pronouns once their identity is revealed so maybe we should do that instead of calling them 'her.'

Just a thought!

Probably, but they took a female form this chapter so I can't blame folk for defaulting to that terminology. Gender neutral terms for people are kinda hard to pull off in English too, at least without being a bit insulting.

"They/them" is a perfectly acceptable pair of pronouns that are being used by the author for this character in the most recent update.

Use the terminology the author used. Don't use the terms you, personally, like most. Give the character the respect of using the pronouns that fit them best.

I'm fine doing that, sure. Was just suggesting an explanation as to why some folk might've been using female terms vs gender neutral for Takara. Sorry if I offended anyone.

They disappointing Jun-ho while pretending to be us, bound them with magic, and we do not know where the cute familiar he liked is. Not to mention all the other stuff they did. Takara will get their gender pronoun back after they are made into the new welcome mat.

Those adventurers better get lucky and get our dragon something good.

I think it's worth burning a wish to drag Takara back to the lair with everyone prepared, but it's probably more satisfying to hunt them down and let them know not to screw with a dragon's hoard. Screwing a dragon is one thing (as our resident incubus can attest), but a hoard is sacred.

Oh wow. It's almost as if that entire character was the most obvious trap in the entire fucking cosmos.

Wow y'all are pretty mad about this. Might I suggest toning it down a notch?

  1. This isn't that bad. Several of the spots on the map were stationary, so we don't lose much in the way of progress. It also keeps the map from being a crutch for us.
  2. We're seeing the other characters interact more, and build relationships between eachother and not just sort of sitting around waiting for Eldingar to ask them out. Now things have a personal stake.
  3. Takara is set up for interesting interactions with us in the future. Their reason for wanting the map is probably the crux of a route, and also now we have potentially an actual rival for affections. Its a unique tension!
  4. This also may have the potential to lead us to new locations after we've cleared the areas we saw the lights in.
And in return all we lose is a map that points out Who Specifically Is Romancable. Which I'd think by now should be fairly self evident to us as readers and Eldingar. Usually because, like him, they're a Lonely Monster Person.

or Issachar, the fucking weirdo.

Not to mention, they did keep their word and help us save our house, while also fucking over a rival royally. So maybe we'll fight, maybe we'll find closure, but ultimately I'm not gonna write Takara off just yet.

Also, like, just going to point out....

If Takara stole from us after we worked with them, why are we assuming they wouldn't have stolen from us if we didn't work with them?

Not agreeing to help raid the Rossos wasn't going to make Takara disappear, or anything like that.

Sure, in this case, they made it in the front door by using a drop of our blood or something (Is that actually something they needed to shapeshift into us? If so, interesting limitation, and it's good that we now know that- not that I intend on relying on that information, as it could easily be a flat out lie to obfuscate the nature and extent of Takara's powers) but there's no reason to assume they wouldn't have made an attempt even without a drop of blood.
