Disney Villains Victorious: Gridlocked - Rise of Heroes

[X] Split the Party
-[X] Send Betty ahead to find Valiant and leave Doof to confront Jessica

Honestly this works for me. Betty is a literal secret agent and therefore perfect for tracking Valiant down, while Doof's Diplomacy score (and the fact that we can probably trust that he's not going to go absolutely heart-eyed at the sight of Jessica) should be enough to keep her from putting that pan to use on his head as well. Plus she's probably a major Hero right? That'd give us another +10 to any rolls involving her if she is.

Honestly I'm more curious whose handwriting that might be in the Book. Janna perhaps? Maybe Mirage? I suppose we'll find out once Doof gets a look at it.

Also damn Betty's got it bad!

Betty and Valiant would be best becuse of her actual experience in spycraft and Valiant's Toon expertise. Meanwhile Doof can diplomance with Jessica and make sure things don't get messed up by Doom or any of his Goons...plus Doof would remarkably probably be able to connect with Jessica.

Doofs a pretty harmless guy that is pretty decent when talking to women so he probably has that well in hand. Betty and her monstrous Intrigue should be pretty well equipped to handle Valiants side of things.

Random Blips

Every year, I will roll another d100 to see what the timeline will throw at us. Due to Future Doof's tampering, it is now much more unstable then before as the stack of paradoxes pretending to be a timeline starts to tremble. Now, don't worry, it's not going to explode or anything. There's no Doomsday Clock or worsening status of the timeline, and this quest isn't on any timer except the one leading to Bill's arrival. However, it will stretch the fabric of space-time enough for some things to fall through. Whether or not they are good or bad is up to the dice, for they also decide where exactly this thing lands, as well as what/who it is. In a Blip, you may see a DVV Classic character show up, or a magical item, or even a character from the MCU! But that last one's only if you're really lucky. And no Star Wars, either. I'm staying out of space as much as possible. However, the actions you take in the present will affect the timestream and by extension the Blips (heroic victories add bonuses, villainous victories add maluses).
Thumbs up.

I am perfectly okay with DVV Classic being the source for extra good or bad characters and stuff. Having it be DVV:Gridlock as the source made things feel far more drastic I suppose. Imagine if CLU from Tron:Legacy blipped into existence during the current year prepped and ready to invade reality. At least DVV Classic can mean diplomacy is more plausible as a option on a low Blip roll, instead of unlikely to be practical. And that the infrastructure to deal with magical threats is already existant for those who need to know.

Like Facilier, if he blipped into the timeline, he'd likely be able to thrive in the current timeline, if there wasn't a magical community on the lookout for magical threats, so Facilier would be a potential threat, instead of a immediate one the moment he blipped into the timeline. But if more and more magical threats blip into existence, eventually there will be more difficulty in dealing with multiple fires, leaving Bill's situation less likely to face interference from the greater magical community.

Russ is a DoofQuest exclusive. As such, neither he nor Kitsune will be making appearances
I'm not sure I comprehend. Even if he will not be present in the current timeline, I was under the impression this was a recursive fanwork and as such it would make sense for him to have been present in the previous one, at least to the point of making non-explicit references to him such as how I interpreted this chapter.

I'm trying to cut back on my references to DoofQuest because I want this to be something that can stand on its own, not just something for DoofQuest fans to enjoy. As such, I'm more heavily drawing on canon DVV:G as well as only using DoofQuest OCs with permission

Send Doof to do the talking Betty to do the fighting

With Russ subject to Retgone Jana , Mirage or Goofy are likely people.

If I had to guess it's a tossup between goofy, and Jana

Okay so if Toffe is around we're gonna need to go recruit Jana and start looking for Star post haste.

Also neither would be canon versions. Star is more than likely just dead dead given Toffee, and Janna will never be dragged into the magical world as neither will Marco since Star isn't around to crash into his life at mach speed.

Again, the Toffee Blip got undone so none of that is the case at present. The main cast of SvtFoE aren't even born yet so there's no point in worrying about any of that just yet. There are countless potential catastrophes likely to come at us in the next few years, we don't need to catastrophize about Bad Ends that probably won't be a thing for at least three decades if at all.

... I am now both amused and worried, because we have no context for these numbers yet...
