I'm not looking forward to meeting her parents at all. I'm guessing trying to bypass the parental blocks will notify her parents somehow, and that would probably not be fun... actually, no, it would be fun. For me.

Whoa, let's not go assuming humans cease to exist when they die in a universe where souls definitely exist.

What I'm confused about is, wouldn't making her generally unhappier increase her potential? Kyuubey should be all over that.

I think the reason given for him picking young girls is that they have the highest separation between hope and despair, right? It might be that you can't push someone too far the other way without ruining the hope half. Someone instantly witching out is good food for your other MGs, but it probably doesn't give you as much energy, or else Kyubey would have just witched everyone from the beginning or whatever. So if you make people too sad and they don't last it's not as useful.


Also, why are there votes for researching potential wishes more, and telling our parents? I thought we were avoiding the whole Lich thing this time. (Actually MGs as a concept are probably really un green, huh? Like the whole Phylactery artifact setup is pretty heavy UB.)

Researching wishes is not the same thing as wishing. More knowledge doesn't hurt, even though we don't intend to wish. Wishes shape the world Aria lives in, and she's going to see their results in other magical girls even if she doesn't make one herself.

And I don't think not intending to wish is going to save us when QB gets serious, so I'd like to be prepared by knowing which wishes will screw us over horribly in advance.

Knowledge is power. Plus right now our character doesn't really have an IC reason not to wish, just stall for a bit. I am hoping the more research we do, the more we find out, the more and more it would look less appealing to the main character.

Instead of just us against it.

Plus, the knowledge would help if we have absolutely no choice but to wish or die. Which with the knowledge it would help us make more informed decisions and what not.

Yeah, we need REAL reasons to not wish. Ones that are worth dying for. Because with what she knows now, I half-suspect she would autopilot herself into wishing if she was truly about to die.

Mostly just worried that a lot of that information is Incubator propaganda, in one form or the other. Some of Agneyastra's stuff has filtered out but there might be a lot of pro MG information in general.

I think a wish for Kyuubey to not censor the Internet was made. The one site we were allowed access to didn't sound particularly pro-magical girl to me, and the top two results we weren't able to access at all thanks to the parental controls. I'm guessing that, whatever wish was made to stop Kyuubey from affecting the Internet did not affect the parental controls.

I'm expecting some particularly damning information on those sites. ... Or some kind of porn.

Firstly, it discourages her from contracting, which is more important.

Secondly, it's the total despair she's destined to feel, not her current despair. Thirdly, potential is also influenced by the size o he emotional swing, so being as happy and hopeful as possible in the immediate aftermath of the wish is preferable.

There's no way there aren't like, trashy romance stories about falling in love with a magical girl and her being doomed to witch out. Like even with all the information revealed there'd still be people writing songs about it and things, especially if MGs have been around for a while.

So what I'm getting at is there's almost totally some really sketchy information on the internet. Probably about what happens if you dip soul gems in whiskey, or dating advice.

(Although the fact that Magical Girls tend to start at like, 14 and don't really age means hopefully there's no outright porn? Please internet don't disappoint me)

Probably more "stops being a thing I can interact with" and to Kyubey, that's the same thing. I mean how else could he possibly know?

In this, magical girls can stop their aging, but they often don't do that 'til they stop growing.
