Dust is tempting, but this seems likely to open up a bunch of options for tomorrow that are worth investigating further.

Ah, in that case, my preferred sequence of events is probably:

Semblances to give the team another edge before Mountain Glenn, and time for them to get used to it tomorrow (Today) -> Dream with Ruby, give her time to do a minor project tomorrow (Tonight) -> Observe someone, fine tune our Semblance upgrades, or a new action that might pop up depending (Tomorrow) -> Dream of Spekkio with the team as special training before their mission (Tomorrow Night).

While I'm sure that the Dust Dream will be interesting, I don't think we have time to progress far enough in the research chain to get any practical skill out of it before Mountain Glenn. We finally finished our Aura Weaver research after all this time and effort, so let's use our limited time to put it to good use. We can start poking Dust in the next arc.

And magic. Don't forget that Alya couldn't use magic.

Knowing that dreaming of Spekkio with the team will help them out makes it a night action for me. Investigating their Semblances is also, so long as we don't actually modify them without the team knowing first.

I can get behind that, but which dream do you want to give her? I personally prefer Lucca, since the tech skill Ruby would acquire would be more useful in the short term (as in, Mountain Glenn) than the seemingly more long term investment of Melchior's dream.

Oh, I mentioned earlier that I'd go for Melchior first under the logic that Ruby could then use the magic materials she produces in her Lucca tinkering later.
 
While dust is important, I don't see a pressing need for it. I'd rather talk with one of the members of RWBY. Spekkio can wait til night, when it unlocks the unique training action.
