Oh wow. I stumbled across this for the first time and pretty much just binged it, and when I saw the date on the last threadmark...I was a bit worried. Glad I get to be here for the rest though, even if I feel a little out of place with all the old readers.
 
That reminds me, I had this plot bunny of a certain crossover character showing up and throwing every monkey wrench as possible into the villains' plans, culminating with Cinder Fall getting absolutely curbstomped.
 
Wait, how could I have missed the message that this quest is coming back?? Guess now I need to go dust off the old word processor and write that sequel to my Fate/Stay Night Omake I was planning forever ago...

So i just found this story and literally just binged it over the course of like, 5ish(?) days. Great story. Really loved how you did the character interactions.

Funnily enough, about halfway through I got curious enough to check how many chapters were left. Then saw the date. 2 years ago. Oh the travesty but I decided to keep reading in spite of that bc the story was that damn good.

Hit the final chapter and then start seeing recent activity for this story, did some digging. Saw the message stating that this will be returning. So happy! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter!
 
Agreed, take your time. While we all greatly appreciate your work on this, your personal is more important than this. We all waited this long so a few weeks or more aren't going to kill anyone.
 
Just saw this and I have to say that the writing and execution of this quest is great. It's even giving me some ideas.

Yeah, I think x50413 is pretty damn good at characterization of non-human entities and how people might interact with them. It makes stories interesting. I think my favorite characterization of the Simurgh (not necessarily the most lore friendly though) was x504's. And obviously this story rocks.
 
The Crimson Echoes ROM hack is pretty good in my opinion and probably comparable in length (at this point). I know I've read longer fic like 20 years ago, but I don't think any of it was as good as this. There was one space opera sequel type fic with mostly OCs, the only part of which I remember is that they called Lavos's species "Lavoids" which had interesting worldbuilding and forgettable characters. There was also a Ranma crossover called Halftime, which is very serviceable, if somewhat contrived, popcorn fic.

@x50413, Several of the Recommened Listening Songs have broken again. I'm making a list of them for a playlist I'm making, and so far at least 6.2 - Mosaic, 6.4 - Eyes, and 6.6 - Interrogation all have songs that got deleted for any number of reasons. The Wayback machine doesn't have links for Mosaic or Eye, but I was able to find out that Interrogation was linked to Youjo Senki OST 18 The Rationalist. Here's a link to another version of it.

I'll continue to look through the Threadmarks and likely update this post as I find them, though I forgot to keep track of previous instances of which I found at least 2.

Note - How I found them:
1) The Threadmark had the name listed immediately before or after the imbedded/linked video
2) The Wayback Machine had the video saved in a way you could read the title
3) I googled the URL and hoped that a reddit post or something both used the link and named the video they linked

Sadly, I don't know what song I used back then for Friendship Eclipse.

However, Chrono Trigger OST songs have been getting purged pretty regularly, so that's at least a safe-ish bet. Thank you though.
